Dave has worked on a few of my vehicles. He is very dependable, very solid of prices for repairs, is very thorough about what he does and how he does it when it comes to fixing my vehicle. Dave got back to me very quickly with a diagnosis. He then got the car back to me within a couple days of his diagnoses- at least as efficient as the bigger garages I've been to, which impressed me. He was honest, only did what needed to be done, and gave us a great price for the amount of work (we were expecting to pay several hundred more for the amount of work.) He's also willing to explain why he's doing what he's doing, which I appreciate! Would highly recommend!

Nobody recommended this place to me, I just called around to different shops when I needed some basic brake work done and all the quotes were extremely high, except for this gentleman that had a fair price and guarantee. Not only was my vehicle taken care of extremely well, test-driven after repairs were done, but he buffed my headlights for me that were very fogged up without even asking and without charge of course! It was just the cherry on top, or the icing on the cake so to speak! Dave was constantly in communication with me during the repairs, was very flexible about my schedule, and was extremely polite and respectful with every single interaction I had with him. He was extremely informative on the work that was going to be performed, the work that was completed, and also gave me some mechanical facts about my personal vehicle and any repairs I may do in the future what to look out for if done on my own. Walking into his shop and meeting him, there's no other way to explain it other than it felt like home. Thank you Dave, I'll be coming back to you for many years to come as long as you'll have me!

Update: Dave worked on my cars for over a year, but after so many issues where he wouldn't respond or care to handle an issue for me because it wasn't important or "that bad", even if I was pertinent about it being repaired, I can't recommend going here if you just want your mechanic to listen to you. For example, I messaged him more than a week before I wanted to get my oil changed and my passenger side mirror replaced because it had been damaged. We set up an appointment, but when I got there and was setting up my bike to pedal home, I learned that he didn't even have a mirror ready and it would be at least another week before he could. What's the point of telling him what I needed in advance if he doesn't have it ready? Dave... don't get me started on Dave. This man is HONEST! This man is ACCURATE, the FIRST time. This man is QUICK. If you want an honest, accurate, AND quick estimate/service on your vehicle, then seriously, don't hesitate to shoot him a call or text! Trust me, if you've ever been to 🎶 That Chain Shop Down the Road Whose Name Starts with an M! 🎶, you'll be amazed at the positive difference in service you receive at B Town Auto Repair! One problem is that he doesn't seem to text/call back sometimes if he doesn't feel like it.

Dave, the mechanic at B Town Auto was at times inappropriately rude and defensive to me, for simple questions about the truck, or payment method. He also failed to diagnose a bad fuel pump on the 1st job, sent me down the road, and the truck died several hundred yards away from his shop. (Had Dave performed a simple extended test drive of the vehicle, and/or other diagnostics he would have diagnosed the pump issue, and saved me an ~hour long round trip uber/lyft , and from being stranded at a busy 4 way stop) I live approximately 25 minutes away so it was quite the ordeal for me to both get the truck back to his shop and also get me home. During the time I am stranded, Dave did not answer his phone or texts because it was just past 5pm closing time - shows you how much he cares about his customers, or how much he caresabout his work. So I am now stranded for several hours at a busy 4 way stop intersection near his shop/home - stranded in a location that is both dangerous for me and the other drivers at the intersection, who had to drive around my stranded truck. Thankfully no one was hurt. I had my truck towed back to his shop, and took a Lyft home - another 25 minutes. Anyway, despite his missed fuel pump diagnosis, and my inconvience of being stranded, etc - I tried to remain professional and courteous - to get the job fixed, and be on my way. I can imagine that most people in this situation, would have been absolutely livid, but I knew that probably wasnt helping anything. So now, job#2, he is now finally able to figure out the new fuel pump that I put in was bad (we had discussed this possibility of bad fuel pump before job #1, so again, not an excuse for missing the diagnosis that left me stranded). It would be another approx week to finish it. Another thing, he also seems to think major electrical ground straps on a vehicle are optional! He texted after the fuel pump installation (now job #2) that my truck was running ok without the body-to-engine ground strap, which he noticed was missing/broken in job#1! It would be an extra $40 to put on this ground strap, like it was an optional thing to do! Keep in mind the truck was originally in for a suspected electrical/fuel issue job#1! What a joke! I go to pick up the truck and I tell him that I want to hear the truck run before I pay. Again, I have still been courteous and understanding to this point. I can tell he starts getting testy at my request to start and rev the truck (why?), but he starts it up anyway, good it starts. I also want to hear it rev so I know its likely good-to-go under load, and fixed, so I dont get stranded again. He refuses to rev the engine! Says he wants to be paid and storms back into the shop! He decides to help another customer, and pretend to be nice to them instead. Keep in mind I already paid him for the first job, didnt request any money back, and have not argued with him for not diagnosing the failed fuel pump in job #1. After a few minutes, with the other customers still in the shop, he settles down a bit and finally agrees to go back outside to rev the truck as I had requested earlier - wow it revs...was that so hard? Really, some seriously odd personality issues with this guy. I paid him and was on my way. AVOID. Even if he fixes your vehicle, it's not worth dealing with his personality issues.

I've had several mechanics over the years work on my vehicles. Dave is one of the best. I have a 2003 Yukon and Dave has come up with several very economical fixes to keep it on the road. My daughter had an issue with her Buick recently that left her stranded on I69. We were able to get the vehicle towed in and Dave got it back it just a few days. If you are looking for a good mechanic call on Dave. He's worked on several of our vehicles and we've always been happy with the results.

Dave at B Town Auto Repair is consistently a good mechanic. His work is top notch: he is skillful as well as conscientious. He talks things through with his customers and is very clear and up front with them to help his customers know what to expect, especially if there is a potential that other issues might be underlying the problem. He also is the most reasonable guy around and I've never had him over charge me. If he charged more, he'd still be the best value for your money in the county. I highly recommend him!

I took my 1990 Reatta convertible for an evaluation and maintenance. Dave was amazing! He was quick and knowledgeable. Reasonably priced. I have plans to take my other Reatta to him to correct damage done by a previous service technician. Brown auto is definitely my new go to car guy!
