They are a family owned and operated business where the office is small, yet cozy, warm, and exuding a homey vibe. The couple is very friendly and service is quick. I really appreciate the extra mile they go - giving coupons for the next visit, sharing snacks, and scheduling earlier than their opening time for emergencies. I also really appreciate that they only fix what needs to be fixed and don't bombard you with the "extras" or unnecessary/early updates. I'm newer to Bellingham and have tried several different auto repair places and Barnett's is by far the best. The family I live with and I are all repeat customers, trust the service and will continue to take our 6 vehicles there.

This is the best mechanic's shop I've ever dealt with. Not only are the repair costs fair, but the estimates have always been accurate and the work has always been done well (with quality parts) and quickly. I'm very grateful that a friend recommended this place. I took my car there today and Doug checked the transmission oil, brakes and spark plugs FOR FREE . He gave me his honest opinion and didn't recommend any unnecessary services. Doug and his wife Kerri are very professional and kind people. Took my 2009 Subaru Outback to Barnett Automotive after an extremely unpleasant experience with Dewey Griffin Subaru service department that left my car in worse shape than when I dropped it off. I called Doug at Barnett Automotive on the recommendation of a friend, and was very happy with the transaction - he fixed one dumb issue with my car (entirely my fault, long story) and another that I assumed would cost much more than it ended up being.
