I over tightened my drain plug on the Heat Exchanger on my boats generator and it snapped CLEAN off. I needed it fixed asap and was willing to pay whatever but the guy said he was busy with other orders and wouldnt be able to fix it for atleast a day or two and that it would cost around 50 bucks. I called Pankey's Radiator in Hayward and they fixed it on the spot! It took less than five mins (i didnt even have time to finish my cigarette) AND they didnt charge me a dime! Go to Pankey's Radiator in Hayward off Foothill!! You won't regret it as you might regret going to Berkeley Radiator. Especially if you are in a jam and need fixin asap!

This is the only radiator shop in the area I could find who would recore my 1973 K5 blazer original heater core. All the rest recommended I just buy an aftermarket replacement. It replacement one is not a perfect fit. BRW took care of it no problem. The unit is as good as new now.

On Saturday I had big problem with my car turned out to be water pump need to be fixed, car was over heated, and steam was coming out from engine. I called AAA they called many mechanics all closed on sat except one open till 1PM and they already told me that you can bring the car but we are not doing anything just tell you what's wrong with the car and for that cost 150$ on Monday depends what need and labor cost ... no choice we towed the car to that place as we were going to shop to leave the car passed Berkeley radiator work we stopped to see if he can take a look! He wan not open for work but he saw my desperate look and how badly I need my car fixed and I need to drive back to Fresno he with beautiful, and.compassionlike human. Ring accepted to work on the car and fix it. He had sometyelse to do but he worked on my car instead! Very long, and hard work with very low cost! This place, and Philip is amazing! Thank you from butom of my heart! Do goo things and sure you will get good come back to you. Jay Ramani

Waste of time. Unprofessional technicians. Brought my car to get a quote to fix the A/C. Days before I spoke with one technician and told him the type and year of the car, what the problem was with the A/C. We discussed the issue and made an appointment to bring the car so he could inspect and give me a quote. I drove 30 Miles to bring the car over to the shop, once I got there the two technicians looked at my car, went to the computer to check on something and then they came out to tell me that my car was not in the system and that they could not do the job. I got pretty angry because they could have done that before making the appointment and have my e drive 60 miles for nothing. This shop was highly recommend by a great BMW shop to me, but I would not recommend this shop to anyone. They are very unprofessional!

Fantastic work and great service. I had read in the reviews that you get honest service here and it really is true. Based on the problems I was having I really would have believed that I needed to replace my A/C condenser ($$$$), but after taking a look at things he was able to patch things up for about an half hour of labor and the cost of recharging my A/C system. If you have anything wrong with your A/C or radiator I recommend making an appointment with Berkeley Radiator Works.

My old BMW overheated and I brought it to the shop to have it diagnosed. The owner was so empathetic and helpful. He didn’t charge me for the diagnostics to try and keep the repair low. Would recommend to everyone! Great service

Who can believe this story; my wife and I picked up our MB 430s from Berkeley where we had let friends use it for a road trip. Took the train to pick it up and the temperature of the car was creeping towards 100° as we drove away. Just happened by Berkeley Radiator Works and drove in for help. Met a wonderful representative and mechanic named "Dan." He helped us every way he could: diagnosis, coolant, fuse checks, etc. We left the car and he made sure we got back to the train station on time to head home and come back another day after Dan and Felipe handle it! They've been in business since 1945. No wonder - the love their customers and we were so grateful to Dan and Felipe. I will tell you the end of the story when I come back to get the car!🤓

I came to Felipe after running away from a pretty sketchy mechanic. I was so impressed by how professional, friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and trustworthy he and his shop were. He tested my car right in front of me, showed me exactly what was wrong, and fixed it within just a couple of hours. As someone who just moved to the area, it's so hard to know what mechanic to trust -- he's got my business again for sure.

UPDATE!. Simply the best radiator works place in the East bay, Felipe is the most honest, and quickest radiator mechanic I have ever met. Highly recommended! Super helpful radiator shop run by an old school veteran, he diagnosed my radiator and didn't even charge me, and his advice worked! How often does that happen? This is a great business run by a great guy. I highly recommended

One of the best new teams here - they do amazing work and also very successful and friendly. While my car was getting worked on, they allowed me to watch Real Madrid match on tv.

A Week ago, I noticed that water was pouring out of my cooling system/under my car, so I had it towed it to Berkeley Radiator works/ David Hinojosa to be inspected and tested for the Leak. 2 days later I got a call from the Radiator shop saying that my Radiator was leaking and needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate and I approved. Carlos also said my Plastic Radiator reserve tank was ALSO Leaking and he would try to find the part and replace it. He said he did a pressure Test, and water was leaking out of the Radiator. I paid him $875. for the Radiator and Thermostat. including labor. He could not locate a Plastic Reserve container, so nothing was done to it. It still leaked I put some antifreeze the reserve tank and ran a few errands for about an hour after I left the shop. I parked my car and turned off my engine and noticed a huge amount of water coming out from under my car as it did before I brought the car to him originally. So, I called Carlos and came back to the shop. THEN EVERTHING CHANGED. I asked him when he did a Pressure test where did the water come out? He said NOT from the hoses or the RADIATOR, but water was LEAKING out from a CRACK in the plastic Overflow Reserve Container. He showed me a Hairline SPECK on the radiator where he thought the water could be leaking but actually DID NOT SEE ANY WATER come out of it. The Water WAS COMING OUT OF THE PLASTIC RESERVE CONTAINER. NOT MY RADIATOR. So, he Replaced my Radiator even though there WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AT ALL. Beware of Mechanics like this. I paid him for Labor and Materials for NOTHING!! PS What he should have said is There is NOTHING WRONG with your radiator, but you have a cracked Reserve tank that needs to be replaced. Now my Temperature Gage is Reading COLD when my Engine is HOT. I'm going to another Garage to see If He installed the WRONG Temperature Gage and/or the Wrong RADIATOR. He is a clueless Mechanic.

By far the best mechanic I've had since my 20 years as an Oakland resident. Reasonable prices, fast work, and a level of kindness I haven't found elsewhere. I had my 2003 Volkswagen Passat's water pump replaced here, and it has been a great experience....couldn't recommend more strongly!

I had a great experience with Berkeley Radiator Works. The team was knowledgeable, honest, and efficient. They diagnosed the issue quickly and explained everything clearly before moving forward. Pricing was fair, and the turnaround time was faster than expected. My vehicle’s cooling system is running perfectly now. Highly recommend them for anyone needing radiator service or repair in the Bay Area

I just had my Dodge Durango serviced at Berkeley Radiator Works on San Pablo (just past Ashby) and he was amazing! He does more than just radiators too ... very friendly & trustworthy. Did a great job w/ fast turn around at a great price. I felt comfortable as a woman going in there by myself & discussing the details. He's knowledge, professional, & personable. David took over the shop about a year ago and his mission is to rebuild the relationship between the community & mechanics. I respect that and I personally think he's doing a great job. I highly recommend.
