I'm not from around here so when I needed my brakes replaced I looked up a bunch of places. I would have to agree with the rest of the reviews, 5 stars! I called the day before I took it in made and appointment for the next morning ,had my brakes fixed by lunch. Super nice guy with fair prices. He only did what needed to be done an didn't add on a bunch of stuff just to make money. Zero complaints from me. Would recommend!

This place was great. I had business down town and I googled a brake shop and chose Big John's. The shop was beautiful; a gear head's paradise. My car was serviced quickly and professionally. The price was a great value. The dealership charges twice as much. I would recommend Big John's to anyone. I will be back for tires and an alignment.

My car needed a brake job, and I needed someone to do it. I Googled for repair shops in St. Pete, and saw Big John’s place come up. I did more research on other reviews sites, and they were good, so I brought my car in. I got good vibes from John as soon as I met him. I felt that he charged me a fair price for what he did to my car, and I referred my wife to him. She was also very pleased with John’s service. This is my go to place for car maintenance.

A few friends referred me over to Big John’s Brake and Alignment Service. I spoke to Johnny and he was very helpful in providing quotes for tires and setting me up with an appointment. Today on my appointment I was in and out within less than an hour and their prices very reasonable. They provided me with great service and provided information on what I should expect on my next follow up visit with the life span of tires and brakes. After checking prices and reviews, and speaking to my top two choices, I chose Big John's (over my two regular mechanics). John was more knowledgeable and a bit less expensive. Upon arriving, John exceeded my expectations. After inspecting my brakes, John informed me that only the rear brake pads and rotors needed replacing. The front was fine. What a shock, and a significant savings. Often times a mechanic will suggest that extra services are needed. He also offered to rotate my tires. Thanks, John, for your excellent service, and more importantly, your honesty. I am a very satisfied customer.

I was looking for a good mechanic and I found just that at Big John’s Brake & Alignment. The stellar reviews were what took me to Big John’s. Conveniently located on 1st Ave N near the Police Station, the garage was very nearly kept. I was getting a synthetic oil change, tire rotation & wanted all the belts & fluids checked as this was a new used car for me. John gave me an estimate time when my car would be ready and I took a walk checking out the shops on Central Ave. When I returned in the allotted time frame, my car was ready on time! Very impressive. The price I paid was the quote that was given which was very competitive. Best of all my Super Sonic ran like a champ! I’ve found my new regular mechanic that’s for sure. I started out small with an oil change but feel confident that when I need the bigger work done, I will get quality work at an honest price. Thanks, John!

I have found this place after being upsold by others and after a place on 4th wanted to have me drop off my car for the whole day for a simple oil change when I had an appointment in the AM. John’s Brake has done my oil change,brakes, put tires on etc and each time it was quick and reasonable charge. It’s very old school but that’s why they’re so good. Highly recommend.

I wanted to share a couple of wonderful experiences I’ve had with Big John’s. My first experience was with just a basic oil change which was done extremely quickly and without any attempts to upsell us on things we didn’t need. That was extremely refreshing. My 2nd experience was on our other vehicle which needed new tires. The pricing they gave on a new set of tires was noticeably cheaper than any other option, including the major online supplier of tires. They did the install without scratching up the rims which seems to be a challenge for some places. It’s nice to finally have a shop that I trust to perform all my mechanical needs. I brought my vehicle in because I felt a noticeable brake pressure almost as if my fluid needed a flush. The tech drove my jeep around the block for a test drive and quickly visually inspected the brakes. He everything was fine. He mentioned he’d love to accept my money, but only wanted to do so honestly. He recommended a local jeep specific repair shop if I really felt it needed a second look. Honesty and good work is all a customer ask for. I can’t rate the work, but I can rate their integrity. Kudos Big John’s!
