I have my scooter in the shop at blue planet and am frustrated that I was told in early April I would have my work done in around 2 weeks. It has been 3 months and I was told that so far I have been billed for 3 hours of labor. An average of one hour per month doesn't feel like much is being accomplished. I brought my bike in because I thought I didn't have the time to work on it and I just wanted it to be ready to ride. By now I would have had the time for a complete rebuild. I don't appreciate being put off while they work on the bikes they want to work on. I was told multiple times that my bike was "next in like to be fixed" and "we are hoping it will be done by the weekend" Communication could improve as well. It's a neat little shop, but I'm un impressed with my first experience.

An excellent place to take your ride in for repairs. Just got a tune up and it is smooth riding. Very pleased.
*Update*
I wanted to maintain my good review, however, I brought my 2010 Sym Symba in for idle issues sometime in 2019 when they were at the old location, it continued having isle issues after the first repair and I had to bring it back in, I was in no rush to get it back due to life changes, the pandemic, and unemployment and made it known. Though I was expecting at least a couple of months. It is now 2023, and my bike is still there probably stuffed somewhere in the back collecting dust with bad gas. I discovered that they moved to a different location and inquired about my bike in 2022 multiple times, but was told that it was pushed back to service other higher priority bikes and the parts were still being waited on. So I stopped inquiring about it and just waiting to hear back. Still no word. After inquiring about it in 2022, I was told that there was a storage fee. A fee that I did not know about. A 5 year storage fee is most likely going to be way more than the bike is worth. The owner told me he was going to work with me on that fee since I had no idea about it and would have brought my bike home to avoid the fees and save money or bring it to a shop that could fix it quicker. At this point, I'd rather just sell that bike and save the hassle. But it seems like my bike is theirs now since I haven't heard anything for an additional year. Would you like to buy it from me, fix it up later and then sell it? I only paid $700 for it. If anyone from Blue Planet reads this, please contact me so we can figure something out. I've been extremely patient and reasonable.

I would like to start my review by saying that I don't trust mechanics in general. So, for me to Even step foot inside the shop was a big step. That being said, if you have a scooter or motorcycle that need a professional touch then you can definitely trust Travis and his team at blue planet. I dropped off 4 Yamaha scooters with a long list of repairs. The first thing I want to say is that the more specific you are with what needs to be done, the better result you'll receive. If you want something done, say it. If you don't want something done, say you don't want it. Travis runs a good business and will do everything in his power to ensure that you have a positive customer experience. The last thing I would like to say is that over the past 5 years, I have had more bad experiences with mechanics than good. after my trip to blue planet, I feel like I am one for one with good experiences and plan on bringing my machines back if needed in the future. Can you trust this place? Yes. To what extent? To the extent that you can define what you need done and that The problem you have identified is actually the problem. Being a mechanic is not easy. There are definitely unforeseen problems. you need to understand that as a consumer. Travis and his team will do everything They need to do to get you on the road for the lowest cost possible. May the force be with you and in blue planet we trust. Drive safe. Hopefully my review helped.

Needed a small bit of maintenance performed on my 2006 Yamaha Majesty. They did the work promptly and at a reasonable price. Where an independent shop like this really shines is in comparison to the service provided by local Yamaha dealers where a small repair can take weeks with your scooted parked at their shop waiting for parts to arrive. Blue Planet keeps your scooter off the road for a minimum amount of time and charges a very reasonable price.

This is a great shop. I have been in many times, I have witnessed the owner sit down with customers and in a simple to understand manner explain what needs to be done to their bike. Not very often do you see a owner in the shop working on bikes and up front helping customers. He truly cares, no matter if its a $.05 fuse or a $1000 rebuild he makes you feel important.

Went to these guys a few years ago. Had my Yamaha in the shop for months and they never fixed it. Found out later it was just a gasket replacement on the carburetor that would take an hour or two from another shop. Avoid this place, it is a scam.
Response to owner: I can confirm this is the correct business. Used to be at 558 e 2100 s.

Alex was excellent to work with.
Installed a new fuel pump late into the evening after it arrived to store late.
Met us at store early so we could load and head home.
Very professional and great experience, thank you Alex!

Cool place to go. Prices for parts are reasonable for parts. Girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I spoke with someone from their Facebook page and was responded to me fairly fast. I will be going back. Thanks for your help, guys!!

Great scooter and motorcycle repair shop. One of their super useful services is that they'll pick up your broken motorcycle for $35. This has always been my biggest obstacle to getting my bike repaired. This has always been my biggest obstacle to getting my bike repaired. Honest, and fairly priced.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews because of obvious reasons. But I had to on this one. I’ve never been lied to so many times by a “mechanic”. The guy made the issue worse. I’m thinking about suing.

I went to Salt Lake Scooters because they came up as a wolf dealer. My scooter sat in the hot sun and rain storms for over a month when they told me it would be 1-2 weeks. With no end in site and honestly the worst service I have ever experienced I decided to call around and ran across Blue Planet Scooters. I can’t thank this company enough. From the very beginning they were professional and very knowledgeable. They said it would be 5-7 days and they ended up fixing my wolf islander scooter in 3 days. They also took my scooter in their building and when I went to pick it up the scooter was waiting for me under a tent to keep the scooter from the heat. I can’t say enough about the professionalism of this company. Ashley was wonderful on the phone, and Daniel was super helpful and you can tell a HUGE DIFFERENCE between the way they run their company and the way those clowns at Salt Lake Scooter run theirs. Blue Planet has earned my business, my trust and respect. Thank you!

Blue Planet should be your new scooter shop. Alex, the new owner, is a great guy. Honest and knowledgable. The shop has been through a lot of transition from old management, so review-wise, if you’re not looking at the latest reviews, you’re probably not getting the current picture. Salt Lake has historically been a waste-land for good scooter shops, but, based on my experience with Alex, Blue Planet is now filling that need. Took great care of my Vespa, came and picked it up and was super fair on pricing and even though I told him to fix what needed to be fixed, he came back with a very modest list. Overall, just a great experience.

Working with Alex was a pleasure from start to finish. He knows his stuff and was so accommodating with my schedule and all my many questions. I've got a 1985 Honda Elite 250 and it's running strong and much safer now. Let Alex work on your toys, they will be well taken care of and so will you!

I hate to write negative reviews about small businesses but my experience here warrants it. Brought my scooter in for a tune up to fix some issues. It took over a week and the issue was not resolved. I was told to bring it back in and he said that he was “99% sure the issue was fixed”. When I went to pick it up the problem still persisted. It felt like he didn’t even turn on the scooter or even try to diagnose the scooter. After that I decided to go to another shop and they told me that it seemed like they had lied about some of the work they had done. They didn’t clean the carb (like I had asked) and changed the oil filter but didn’t change the oil.

Fit me in for a quick oil change after the Vespa dealer said they would need my scooter for a week! Great conversation and fast service!
Went back to get my '65 Vespa VBB sputtering issue figured out. The crimped and cleaned and adjusted and the thing runs better than it ever did before! The exhaust will be annoying the neighborhood quite a bit before winter comes. Braaap Braaaaap ding da ding ding!

I am interested in your scooters, but I REFUSE to have to join Facebook to see your product line. I am not the only potential buyer that won't spend money with you. Sorry.

I took my Liberty 150cc for a Maintenance Service (e.g., oil change, spark plug check, brake check) after it's ~1,500 mile run and got a clean bill of health. I dropped it off on Tuesday afternoon and got it back Friday afternoon - not bad wait time considering they are usually busy.
Customer service is great, friendly, and easy to talk to. Their new location has a similar feel to their old location near 2100S & 700S. I'm so glad they just moved rather than closed down because of COVID. I live near Liberty Park so the few extra miles to get to them is well worth the travel.
I would highly recommend them!
