Very rude. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you want to get literally yelled at when approaching them with a question. Horrible customer service. Save your money for a business that actually cares about their customers.

Our daughter goes to UC Merced and is driving one of our cars in that local area. We live in the Los Angeles area. I called Ron and told him we work with a reliable mechanic in the Los Angeles area and were not comfortable with taking our car "just any where". He understood and promised us a "fair and honest" experience. He had the car completely fixed (cracked radiator) in about 5 hours! He called me in Los Angeles with updates as he was working and took care of our daughter!! We would definitely use Bob's Auto Works again! Ron is an honest and hardworking mechanic. My family has taken all their cars last 15 years to him. He is genuine and listens to your pocket needs vs mechsnical needs. I have yet to meet an honest mechanic other then Ron in Merced or Bud (performance auto) in fremont California. Top class individuals

Called to ask a simple question and the person in charge was rude and unprofessional. Not letting me explain myself and saying he doesn't work for free. We all know nobody works for free. Also said that it's not a simple job, assuming I had said that when I didn't, because he wouldn't let me speak. I'll take my money somewhere else. Where they listen and are nice and friendly.

City of Merced had a $35 COVID stimuli credit towards any service at Bob's Auto Works. This mom and pop shop changed oil and filter in October 2020 damaged skid plate next to oil drain pan. Fast forward to September 2021 and Bob's repair to reattach clips to hold skid plate back in October 2020 failed leaving both plastic pieces flapping in wind. Fortunately I returned to local dealership who performs my oil changes for the past several years. Dealership replaced clips for a nominal parts cost at no charge for labor to secure skid plate.
