My engine basically exploded (I’m dramatic, I know) and I was terrified because I hate going to the mechanic. My experiences with mechanics are as follows: take advantage of me because I don’t understand cars, take advantage of me because I can’t understand what they’re saying and just say “yea ok do that”, or hold my car hostage because they’re actually a money laundering facility that only takes cash. This was one of the best mechanic experiences of my life. I only went here because they were the closest to my location (was at the airport parking lot) when I started my car and I am so happy it was here and not at home. The guy at the desk was super helpful, friendly, and I was afraid it was going to cost me a trillion dollars but it was *reasonable*. I’d be honored to go back, though I’m getting a new car soon, so hopefully not anytime in the near future.

This is by far the best shop in Boston!! I wish I took my car here before I moved from Newton to Eastie. Prices are very reasonable, they are so professional and timely. I just moved to Atlanta and I had my power steering pressure hose replaced a couple weeks before I left Boston. After a couple weeks in Atlanta my power steering was acting up again and a shop down here said it was the same issue and the hose was just defective. I called up Braz and they covered ALL the labor costs for the repair in Atlanta and the part was under warranty!! He communicated with the shop in Atlanta to get the part sent out there and everything was seamless. I will always recommend this shop for anyone who lives in the Boston area!!

Excellent work. Nice people. Polite. Friendly. Prices are the best. Parts and labor. They work on engines and repairs, and all kinds of maintenance. Most makes and models. I see a few antiques in there once in a while. UPDATE: they moved to Revere, on Broadway. Still excellent service. They get busy though, so be patient. Worth it.

Dealing with car repair shops can be as dreadful as dealing with car dealerships. I went to this place based on reviews online and I am just as equally pleased. The quote I was given was fair and I also had different options depending on my budget. They also pointed out a few other things my car needed some work on and it all got squared away at a very reasonable price. Glad to have found this place and will gladly bring my car back. I am really happy with the level of service I received.

If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. The front desk gentleman (owner?) is very reasonable and helpful. I got my truck repaired here and he allowed me to put $ down and pay the rest the week following. Very very reasonable. Im always skeptical of mechanics for many reasons but I’ll be taking my other truck to this place for repairs.

I haven’t been in a while, and Clayson was always very nice, but I just learned of something very sketchy they did: About a year ago I brought in two new CV axles for driver and passenger side to install, and I just learned they only installed one! I went to a new mechanic recently who said I needed a new driver side CV Axle. I said that is odd because I got both axles replaced a year ago at Braz. The new mechanic said that the passenger axle looks new, but the driver side part looks very old. He showed me the axle when he took it out and it was very rusted and clearly an original part that has never been replaced. This means that Braz KEPT THE PART that I had purchased myself and they never installed it, but told me that they did. Either that or they installed a very old junk part instead of the new part that I brought in. They also tried to charge my husband for like 125 feet of tubing when his car only needed 3 or 4 feet, meaning they kept the rest on his dime, and I’m sure they charged future customers for the tubing despite this. Basically we have both been ripped off by them on separate occasions.

Took my car to Braz because it was the closest shop with 5 stars. I needed a clutch replaced on an Audi. I was in for a big nasty surprise. First, Braz bent a part on my car. They tried to tell me to replace the $600 part because it was old without telling me that they bent it. Very dishonest and I found out about this much later from another shop. So they were charging me for their mistakes. I later found out with another shop that not only did they bend it, they tried to blowtorch it and bend it back to normal. You can see the discolouration in the part where they blowtorched it. Secondly, they were extremely unprofessional. They gave the car back to me with nearly a dead battery and no gas when I brought the car to them with plenty of gas and a healthy battery. Third, they failed to follow directions. I gave them directions on how to replace the clutch and other things. They did things their way, and when I confronted them about it, the owner was rude. They gave the car back to me with a violent vibration and inability to shift into 5th and 6th gears. Lastly, although they refunded me for the clutch job after repeatedly telling them that they messed up the repair, they failed to pay for the parts that they broke, stripped and bent which were over $500. They are not returning my phone calls which is why I decided to leave a fair and honest review. This place might have a decent reputation among locals, but I had an extremely poor experience and I will never bring my car here again.

Braz Motor Auto Repair is a great mechanic that won’t try to up-sell you anything that isn’t needed for your vehicle. My wife is Brazilian so when she had car trouble she felt most comfortable talking to someone in Portuguese about her car issues. Great people and very reasonably priced.
