My son has a jetta 1998, he does not have a lot of money, he calls this place when he has a problem. The owner has always been kind to my son, never expects money for a phone consult and even called my son back today and told him what was wrong with his car. My son was so happy. He just brags about this shop all the time. I hope Caleb takes them pizza someday to show his appreciation. What a great place. Thank you for your awesome service to my son. Michele Allen.

Best auto care I’ve experienced I’ve ever had in my over 50 years of car ownership. Customer service and craftsmanship!!! My 2008 Volvo is better than new. The repairs were perfect and the cost was the best in Oregon.

Very knowledgeable and very professional. They have been a great help in getting my suspension dialed in as well as getting my steering rack replaced. This is the type of good old fashioned service and knowledge that is hard to come by these days. If your looking for a local mechanic that knows his stuff, is fair in pricing, and stands by his work look no further.

Our 2007 VW Rabbit's rear windshield wiper would not turn on but would still spray window wash on the back window. Ron, the owner, said it could either be the wiper motor or a broken wire. So, he pulled back the rubber housing and you could see that several wires had separated (due to opening and closing all these years) and within a few minutes he had reconnected them all. I turned on the rear wiper and it started right up. He said the disconnected wires also caused the warning light on the dash to show a Bulb Error. Which now was off due to his reconnect. All this done within about 25 minutes. Great service, very reasonable price! Beverly, the Office person was also very professional and helpful. Definitely telling our VW and other friends that this is the place when you need any type of service!!!

my husband John and I have been going to this place for a few years now to service our Volvos (2004 XC70 with 265k miles, 2008 C30 T5 with 130k miles, and 2009 Volvo XC70 T6 with 170k miles) and it's the only place in town we trust to A) Do the job well, and B) not try and pull our leg on the prices. My partner is a home mechanic but whenever he has a job that is a little more than he can handle, Steve's Place is always our go-to. You'd be surprised how many places say they "specialize" in Volvo yet have no idea what a DICE or VIDA is. The guys' at Steve's Place though, they know what they're talking about and have always recommended the most cost effective yet long-term repairs possible to keep our cars running for hundreds of thousands of miles to come.

A+++ My kids were visiting Bend for a concert and my sons 2011 VW Tiguan was having a misfire in 2 of its cylinders. Other shops in town were booked up from 1-3 weeks and C&C got them in same day and back on the road so they were able to make the drive home to Portland. I feel most shops would of taken advantage of a couple of teenagers from out of town but NOT C&C. Price for repairs and parts was extremely reasonable and fair. I would definitely recommend this shop.

This was the 2nd time I've used Steve's place to do minor repairs on my Audi A4. Both times, he has done the work quicker than promised and within the quoted amount. I also appreciate his honesty. The first time I had work done, the standard hours for the job in the system was 2 hours but the mechanic told the estimator it would only take about 45 minutes and to adjust the labor down. Every time I've been in, they have always been friendly, flexible, and willing to help out. Highly recommend!

Traveling from Portland to work in Bend for the week and my AC stopped working. I looked for a place to take my Audi and found Steve’s Place. I called and was answered with friendly and knowledgeable info that was super helpful. They got me in a day later. These guys know and love cars! It was great-I felt I was in good hands. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Any time I have a car issue in Bend, I will go to Steve’s!

We were moving our son to college in Bend when his car decided to have a radiator leak/coolant issue. Steve’s was able to help us right there on the spot. We left the car with them for about 4 hours and the car was done and that evening my son had his car back and was ready for school. Being from out of town it gives us great comfort knowing we have a great place like Steve’s to count on for any future car maintenance issues. We highly recommend Steve’s!!!!!

From the moment I called Steve's Place to the second I drove off in my newly-fixed car, I felt nothing but gratitude for the service we received there. He fixed a complicated and expensive issue with my 2002 Audi and gave me extremely fair prices. His service was many days quicker than was quoted by other mechanics and must less costly. I'm so grateful for this business and this man. Also, his secretary and his shop dog, Frank, are pretty awesome as well. :) I will definitely use him in the future.

My son and I bought a 2008 Lexus for his first car. After a few weeks of tinkering on it we ran into 5-6 repairs that were above our pay grade. C&C took over and we couldn’t be happier with their work. Made a reservation that was honored and the work was done the same day and the car is running great. Thanks guys

Took our 2007 VW Rabbit to C&C Auto as I had an "indicator" on the dashboard showing light bulb failure. Arrived at 9:50am for my appointment and Justin the mechanic had it all fixed by 10:15am. We have always had great service and professionalism from all members of CC. Highly recommend them.

Recently, I needed a 90k tune-up. The front office worked with me to address the most critical issues needing attention. I could not have asked for a better experience. They worked with my schedule, and I was able to return the same day to pick up my vehicle. C&C Automotive takes a great deal of pride in doing high quality work at a reasonable price. My family van is much happier these days. Thanks C&C Auto Repair!

We have been to C & C for work on our Volvo, Ford and most recently for a pre-purchase inspection on a Honda CR-V. The inspection was thorough and when I bought the car and came back for the recommended services, they were patient with me when I asked a million questions. I left feeling completely confident that they set my son up with a safe car. They are everything you’d want in your auto repair shop, skilled, honest, fairly priced and have a great reputation. Thank you!

New, revised, updated post from my previous experience - I'm sure C&C has many happy customers, but this is my honest experience and is definitely worth sharing as a warning to others - I had an oil change done in July + inspection. It was the most expensive oil change i've ever had on my 2011 vehicle. The inspection was not free but yielded good stuff that needed resolution; there were also two items that were NOT needed, but fairly inexpensive. Overall, the work seemed too expensive and I had just moved to Bend; I waited on the work and left a review - I called two other shops in Bend for comparison. One shop told me they would be more expensive due to hourly rates. They couldn't speak for quality of the parts but I told both shops I should work with C&C, that my judgment was incorrect AND DELETED MY PREVIOUS REVIEW. How reasonable of me. - I called C&C and booked all services on 10/13. Later the same day they called me back saying they were canceling all my planned work because of my previous google review. Everything in my first review was true and valid (that the oil change was really expensive, that some of the inspection recommendations were good, that I had doubts about others, and that I got stuck in their tiny parking lot because someone was getting towed. It was two stars) As a small business owner, I know I can't make everyone happy; I value customer feedback and take accountability where I can, determining if it's real and actionable or not is part of owning a business. It seems that instead of adopting a service mindset focused on helping people & the vehicles they depend on, that C&C barters their services to people they think are worthy of their time and attention, and prices their work opportunistically. They could prove me wrong, but no attempt to contact me was made and if they were cranky about the first review being two stars, they definitely should have had the foresight to DISCUSS this with me instead of accepting my business and then canceling it because they had hurt feelings. I for sure won't give them a third chance and if you care enough about your community to demand businesses that actually care about serving it, you should find another mechanic too.
