C's Automotive is a gem. My wife had a serious vibration that happened while visiting the area. She took it to the shop after hours and left it there hoping for the best. She got it. The issue was a failing drive train. We dealt with Cal and his son on the phone. He inspected the car the next day and had an estimate as soon as he could locate parts. He said we were lucky that we caught it when we did. If the drive train completely failed while the car was going fast, it could have caused a fatal accident. Meanwhile I looked online to see if I could guess the problem. Someone else suggested that it might be the drive shaft and gave estimates about price. Even though the post was 8 years old, Cal's estimate was at the low end of the range. WOW. So yeah I would recommend Cal. He knows his stuff. He is old school honest. :)

The owner should fire the older mechanic. I knew exactly what my problem was (leaking outside passenger CV boot). He sounded like he's under too much stress and didn't want to listen. He told me I have too many cars and he didn't care and told me to go to another shop. I was the only customer there at the time. I went across the street and the shop there took care of me. Don't go here!

Waited an hour and paid $60 for basically lifting the car undoing a single bolt I couldn't get with my cheap (bottom of the line ryobi) impact. I thought the job was clear cut enough to give an up front quote, being 3 bolts and about 10 minutes of labor. I brought the part over from subaru, and had to go visit my bank upon finding out cash isn't accepted here. I was thinking maybe he'd be cool and charge 10, 20, 30, maybe 40??? 60!? You can sheer a sheep many times, but you wont be slaughtering me again. Next time just be up front with someone who tells you they're broke. I even asked, "what are you thinking, like 20, 40 bucks?" I'll buy/rent the tool and do it myself like I should have. Mechanics better hope I need real motor/ trans work because they aren't getting any more of my hard-earned!!!! Literally unscrewed 1 bolt, and fastened 2. I watched the work.... less than 5 minutes flat. Not even a pry bar used.

It’s honestly hard to find people like him anymore. I own a dealership, and a car I had just purchased suddenly overheated. I stopped by his shop — it was over 80 degrees and extremely hot inside — and he was clearly very busy. Despite that, he took 20–30 minutes out of his packed schedule to help diagnose the issue, without expecting any payment or asking for anything in return. Even though he ultimately couldn’t take the car in due to how busy he was, he kindly advised me to have it towed and made sure I was pointed in the right direction. That level of professionalism and genuine kindness is rare these days. I truly appreciate his help and integrity. Highly recommend.
