Check engine light went on and I was told I need to replace the catalytic converter for $4885 before the mechanic even looked at it!!!! The check engine light can be for a million different reasons and to tell someone they have to do almost $5000 of work without even looking at the car is extremely irresponsible!

I Called in August about getting a motor replacement for my vehicle. They took my information and said they would call me back about scheduling an appointment. 1 month later and I never got a call back.

A week ago I brought my 2004 E500 4MATIC to C&W for repair. It was my first time there. I found out about C&W by researching online for a reputable repair shops in Lancaster that repaired foreign cars especially Mercedes. I had nothing except online reviews to use as a criteria. I know from experience that online reviews can be bogus. However, C&W was the only one that consistently had 5 star reviews. So I began to read the reviews and the more I read the more the reviews seemed accurate. So I thought that I would call. Like any business if the appointment can be made for the next day then their not too busy. Not busy could mean not so good. When I called C&W to make an appointment the soonest appointment was 3 weeks away. So things were looking promising. My issue was chatter while turning the steering wheel hard left or right. I have some experience with the mechanical operations of a car but never turned a wrench except on my 1969 Olds. Old school! My guess was that one of the front axels or CVA needed to be replaced. So my expectation was I was looking at an expensive bill. And if that was the report I would have full accepted the diagnosis. Well as it turned out I was wrong, it was the power steering fluid that need to be changed. A $75 bill and not a $1200 plus repair. Moral of the story. C&W is a reputable, honest and experienced family owned and run shop that treats customers as family members. If you live close to Lancaster C&W is the Shop of choice hands down! Honest and Skilled! I now know why it was a 3 week wait for an appointment!! Anthony A., Lititz, PA

I have been going there for a while, and they have a nice staff, and it being a family business I like to give them some credit. However, I've had too many bad experiences with them to go back. I'd love to continue to support them, but it's just been too many strikes to keep going back. The first time I went to have something repaired, they noticed my AC belt was wrapped up in something, and they immediately fixed it. Which would be good, if they would have called and told me, or asked, or in any way prepared me to the extra charges for the repair. The AC belt they replaced it with was also squealing about a week after they put it on there, and I have no idea how a brand new belt is already slipping. The most recent issue I've had has been a long time in the making. Took the car to C&W Imports in Lancaster 3 times to check on a problem, and every time they diagnosed it as either the wrong thing or nothing. Now the car has a catastrophic malfunction and a lot of collateral damage that will cost much more to repair than it would have if they would have taken care of the issue I repeatedly brought it in for.

I can't say enough good things about C&W! They do good work in a timely fashion. Most of my repairs have been done the same day if I had an appointment. They have very reasonable prices and are honest. Another shop tried to convince me I needed a new alternator for ~$400 because my battery voltage was low; C&W fixed this by cleaning the cable connections. The dealership charges more than twice what C&W did for 100,000 maintenance and replacement of the timing belt!

My son and I made a 12 hour drive up from middle Tennessee to purchase a 1950 Dodge Coronet Diplomat from Michael’s Motor Cars. While in Pennsylvania my Ford F250 developed brake issues. After a two-day attempt to repair my truck at the Ford dealer in Columbia, Michael suggested I take the truck to “his guy” Ron around the corner at CW Imports. Ron straight away had an idea of what the culprit was, collapsed brake hoses. The next morning Ron replaced the hoses and a RH Front Caliper and had my truck back to me by noon. Being the former owner of an independent shop myself, I greatly respected Ron’s ability to make a correct diagnosis so quickly. Plus, what he charged to do the job was more than reasonable. The gesture was greatly appreciated since I had previously spent a significant amount elsewhere to fix my brakes unsuccessfully. Now, safely back in Tennessee, I haven’t had one issue with the brakes since. I highly recommend Ron and his team at C&W Imports. Thanks again Ron! Jeff Brewer

These guys are great. My family has had probably half a dozen vehicles serviced by C&W - inspections, body work, mechanical work. They have always been reliable, honest, and affordable. Consistently the best prices on general maintenance services. Friendly folks too. Classic old-school mechanic shop.

Came to CW to get my car serviced for a key stuck in the ignition and they were rapid with my repair. Great customer service and communication. Brought my car back to have them look at something from the initial repair with no additional cost and they found other things wrong with my car and took care of it right away. No waiting and no that’s not our problem. They took care of me like I was their only customer. Also fair pricing. Especially in this economy they do not gouge your pockets. Highly highly recommend. Family ran company where they make you feel like family.

Brought my car there for inspection knowing it needed a clock spring,02 sensors and rear brakes and got my AC serviced. Ron gave my car back with the airbag light on a check engine light and ABS light on and now my AC blows hot air and my brakes squeal. They are not the C&W they used to be Ron did say the lights are on because of sensors and brake module abs light wasn’t on until he worked on brakes

I have never fully trusted a garage before as I am no mechanical expert. But, C&W is a garage that I 1000% trust in. They are up front, don't try and sell or do anything that is not seemingly required, and excellent with communication. Lancaster is so lucky to have a gem of a place such as C&W! Keep up the great work.

An incredible blessing to have a local mechanic that you can fully trust. I have had some pretty significant concerns with my vehicle over the years, and never once have I been taken advantage of, or my concerns minimized. Work is always done very well, as quickly as possible, and with great consideration for cost. And they always take the time to explain what’s going on. I feel as taken care of as if I were a family member. Ron, you are huge blessing to this community.
