I’d definitely like to thank Jason and the Entire crew at Caliber Collision in Staten Island for an amazing job on our vehicle. Not only did they go above and beyond for the pick up of the vehicle to start the job. They far exceeded my expectations on the workmanship and care that went into getting us back on the road despite the setbacks with parts that were not available to complete the job. His team and himself kept me updated and reassured throughout the entire process as well as brining the vehicle back to us for us to be able to celebrate our anniversary. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP – YOU’VE BEEN WARNED Where do I start? I was referred to this shop by Progressive after a claim — and that was the worst decision I could’ve made. This place is shady, careless, and does the bare minimum to cover up their own mistakes. I brought in my BMW M340i with a dented left fender, scraped bumper, cracked lenses on my headlights (not the headlights themselves), and some rim damage. What I got back over the next few months was a nightmare. They replaced my fully working OEM headlights with cheap aftermarket ones, even though the actual lights were fine and only the lenses were cracked. I was later told by a third party that the bumper appears to be aftermarket too — I strongly believe they swapped out my OEM bumper, which is now not aligned properly and visibly hanging out on both sides. They brushed it off and said it was “normal.” I went back and forth with them for months — from March 22 to early July — because every single time I picked up the car, something else was either damaged, misaligned, or clearly not repaired properly. It became a cycle: drop off the car, pick it up, notice new issues, and go back again. I once even smelled liquor on a technician’s breath — that explains a lot. I eventually had a Progressive rep meet me at the shop. I showed him everything they caused, including: • Scratches on both fenders that weren’t there before, • A large scratch on the sunroof glass, and • The misaligned bumper they tried to pretend was fine. They made one last attempt to fix things — and of course, it was another half-ass job. They painted over the right fender, which was about 90% better but still had scratches left untouched at the bottom. On the left fender, they painted over a spot I didn’t even mention, and ignored the actual scratches I pointed out. Now, just a few weeks later, the same scratches are back — in the exact same spots. Either their paint literally wears off after a few rainstorms, or they never painted it at all — just polished or glazed it to make it look “fixed” temporarily. To top it off, the Progressive agent clearly favored the shop. He told me he works with them regularly — no surprise he downplayed everything. I gave this shop multiple chances to fix their mistakes, but they always did it halfway. My car came out worse than when it went in — and now I’m left with paint defects, exposed scratches, and the stress of having to fix their mess out of pocket. Do yourself a favor: STAY AWAY FROM CALIBER COLLISION – STATEN ISLAND. If this is how they treat a high-end German car, imagine what they’ll do to yours.

Overall, my experience was mixed. The shop staff were professional and kept me well-informed throughout the repair process, which I appreciated. However, the vehicle took significantly longer than the promised time to be ready. While I understand they aimed for a perfect result, the delay was frustrating. When I picked up the car, it wasn’t dirty, but it hadn’t been washed either. The quality of work seems solid, so I might recommend the shop to friends with the caveat about timing.

I found Caliber Collision through my State Farm insurance and I’m glad I did. State Farm said that Caliber Collision was their top shop for repairs and they were right! They fixed my car, kept me informed the whole time, Gus was amazing and helpful but the absolute angel was Mena !!!! She helped me from start to finish! Kept me informed, went out of her way to find another shop to help me because I was in the process of moving to another state. Everything went smoothly because of Mena and I’m so grateful to her! Went to the dealership to address an issue with my blind spot information sensor in my car (2024 Honda HRV) on the side where the collision happened, 6 months after getting the car fully repaired by Caliber Collision in the summer of 2025. The dealership let me know that this damage is due to the accident and might have been overlooked during repair. The repair looks great physically — can’t even tell an accident happened. However there can be some internal damage over time. My advice: give the car 6 months to a year to make sure no further damage is caused after repair
