What a find ! Anything to do with auto repair is consternating anyway; finding a trustworthy place in L.A especially so (My baseline assumption being that most places are rip-offs ,chop-shops, liars.). After seeing good reviews for Koester here on Yelp and a couple of other places - I called. Got an appointment immediately so I headed in still leery or what was to come The air conditioning system in my 2009 Audi hadn’t really been working for a couple of years and as I was driving last week in this god forsaken heat wave with my A/C on, all of a sudden, the engine started making strange noises, losing RPM at regular intervals every few seconds when idling, and eventually, white smoke started coming out of the right side of the hood and the cabin filled with that smoke via vents - a scary and unpleasant experience... I called a few experienced mechanics in the valley who told me I either need a new car or else I am looking at spending $8,000 for a repair. Then, I called Koester and explained everything to Ben. Right away - he said "Your A/C compressor is seizing and this causes a lot of friction which, in turn, causes smoke." Then I asked him: "Should I have my car towed to you?" to which he responded: "You can try driving - just make sure you have enough anti-freeze and your heating or A/C is off while you're driving." I listened and drove my car 18 miles to Koester, fortunately, without any major adventures. Got there and was greeted by Ben before I could even get out my car. He had remembered my name from me calling and was standing outside waiting for me to arrive. After talking to him I felt really comfortable with him. He was just very genuine so there I left it for complete diagnostics and repair. The major repair took 1 day, and my climate control system is better than it was when the car was brand new. On top of the brand new A/C compressor, fixed climate control system and steering pump, I had a timing chain cover, gaskets, water pump, radiator, fuel and oil filters replaced - all for a price of just around $3,900 - something that other car shops in quoted $5k - $8k to do. That speaks volumes about Koester’s honesty and trustworthiness, aside from the highest quality work! Once again, my car feels like new and I look forward to driving it for another 60k miles. I will definitely visit Koester again and I highly recommend you to take your car there. These mechanics are very affordable, knowledgeable, caring and friendly.

I had a great experience at Koester's. I needed a lot of work done on my car which usually would have taken 3 or 4 days but they finished in 1 day. Ben (the owner) clearly explained what they had to do and he gave me the best price. I was completely unaware of car problems and because of that I was worried that I would be taken advantage off when it comes to pricing. They even gave me a discount. They are honest and very nice! I would not take my car anywhere else.

Koester Automotive is simply the best. I've been to several mechanics in the past and have had horrible experiences and lost money in the process. Ben and his team restored my faith in the idea that there are honest mechanics out there. I just had the most amazing experience here today. I'm young with almost no knowledge about cars. I took my car in to Koester Automotive and was IMMEDIATELY helped by Ben. He diagnosed my problem right away and assured me that he would have it fixed. Ben was so incredibly helpful and not only fixed the issue, but taught me and showed me exactly what was wrong and why. He was able to replace what needed to be replaced and showed me how it should look. I am greatly appreciative of his immediate assistance and knowledge that he was also able to teach me. He assured me that he was there for any future problems as well. I HIGHLY recommend Koester Automotive. My experience was above and beyond what I've ever experienced anywhere else, this is a place I know I can trust. Koesner Automotive is amazing! They took in my car on Monday afternoon, without an appointment, and all of the work was done by Tuesday morning! This was very convenient because it meant I didn't miss any work. It was 113 degrees the day I dropped off my car. He showed me an air conditioned room I could wait in and even brought me cold water. I know nothing about cars so I barely knew what work I needed done. He did not try to up sell me on anything that I didn't need. His prices are exactly what I was expecting and extremely reasonable. If you do not know much about cars, come here! You can trust him do only do what must be done and for a great price! Great place! I highly recommend it!!

The service from Sam was amazing! My car was repaired perfectly, cleaned and dropped off to my place fast. They fixed my Ferrari quickly and it drives better! Thank you Sam and team. Also side note my insurance company is pure evil, they tried to play games with me and the shop to make the repair process much longer and their own shop couldn't fix my Ferrari because they where shady crooks from what it seemed like. The insurance company delayed my claim and lied to me many times but thank goodness Sam kept such good records and kept me in the loop at ever step so I was totally aware of how evil the insurance company is. Thank you California Coach Craft for repairing my car and opening up my eyes to how unbelievably pure evil my insurance company is.

Ben took my car in after a bad accident almost 3 years ago, and he's been solid ever since. After recent radiator problems, I brought my car to a random mechanic in my neighborhood (not Ben) to avoid driving further. This guy was going to charge me $600 to fix the issue. When I made the trek to Ben in Sherman Oaks for a second opinion, I instantly realized it's what I should have done in the beginning. Not only did Ben REPLACE MY HOSES FOR FREE THE SAME DAY, he threw in a free oil change. Three years ago Ben instantly proved himself a great mechanic. In turn, I've been a loyal customer and he never lets me down. He's constantly taking care of me, and giving me perks like this to remind me that my business matters. He's the man! Don't think twice about another mechanic. I live near Venice and always find it worth it to bring my car the extra distance to see him. Thanks Ben!!

I am dropping by to say that Koester Automotive is my new favorite auto body shop/collision center! I recently moved to North Hollywood a month ago and, unfortunately, was involved in a car accident - totaling my car. The tow driver recommended Koester Automotive and took my vehicle there. Ben was very helpful and understanding as I had to wait to hear back on my insurance claim. At no cost, he let me keep the car on his property while waiting to hear back from my insurance company. This shop has to be the best that I've visited in my 9 years of driving. The plastic underneath my car had fallen off and needed to be fixed immediately. Ben took a look at my car and offered me an incredibly reasonable price and to my (pleasant) surprise the car was fixed a lot faster then I had expected. Koester Automotive is the best auto care that I have found in LA. I had a 2005 Chevy Malibu that failed smog inspection due to the check engine light not lighting up on the dashboard, and at first I thought it might be a simple fix, such as replacing a fuse. After my usual mechanic checked it out, he said it was not a fuse and was probably an electrical-related problem in the dashboard. My mechanic does not do auto electrician work, so I was basically on my own to find someone else who did. I was so nervous because I have been ripped off with auto services before and I have very little knowledge or understanding about car repairs in general. I resorted to Yelp to find an auto electrician and stumbled upon Koester Automotive, and thank god I did. Ben and his team are simply the best. He made sure that I completely understood every step of the process - what was being checked out, what was damaged, what kind of repairs he recommended, and price. I always feel some level of unease when it comes to auto repairs, but Ben made sure I never felt this way. The car had to have an extensive check-up into the dashboard and all the electrical wiring to figure out what the problem was, and every other place that I had called quoted me at least $400 to $500 just to diagnose the problem. Ben was able to do the job at half these prices! I also had to leave the car over the weekend for them to work on, and Ben always made sure I was updated on the car's progress and when everything would be completed. All in all, I dropped the car off on a Friday, picked it up on Monday, and got my second smog check passed that same Monday afternoon. Because of my great experience here, Ben and his team at Koester Automotive are now my new mechanics for any and all future repairs and check-ups. I definitely plan on going back to them and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Ben is definitely one of the most affable mechanics I have come across. Which can be hard to find in Los Angeles. He's always been able to fit me in and has always fixed my car with the utmost care. I've been able to schedule rather last minute oil changes and he still manages to get me in and out in about a half hour, despite weekends always being busy for mechanics. I've never had any problems with my car after one of his repairs. I've had my brakes done by a dozen of mechanics over the past decade, all with the same vehicle, and they always seem to start breaking down not but a few short months after the repair, however, since going to Koester, they've been fine for a year now and counting. He is good about keeping in contact and informing you every step of the way on prices and what needs to be done, never acting without your permission. Always putting the customer first and doing everything he can to get your car repaired and back to you in a reasonable amount of time. He even has a loaner car he can provide you if the repairs will be more intensive than you hoped and you'll need some way to get to work. I've always found his prices to be completely fair and often cheaper than other mechanics I've gone to in the area. I've recommended a couple friends to him and they've also had nothing but pleasant experiences. I highly suggest him and his mechanics to anyone.

One of the best decisions I've ever made was taking my Mercedes Benz here. This shop is professional, friendly, reasonable and knowledgeable. I took my car to Ben and he helped me out every step of the way. He broke down the process that would take place and gave me a reasonable price. A couple of days after I took my vehicle in, the difference was night and day. This shop did wonders to my paint and my bumper. It looked like a totally new car! They take great care of vehicles and even detailed mine. The little scratchers all around my car were fixed without an additional cost. They're quality of work is amazing. This shop is the real deal and I'd recommend anybody to let these guys work their magic on your vehicle! You won't regret it. Thank you Ben!

So far the communication has been great. The owner really went above and beyond to help me out. My car got broken into and the back glass was smashed along with some scratches on the trunk. I got turned down by several other body shops but CCC took on the job no problem. Repairs are not done yet but I don't expect anything to go wrong.
