You cannot get ahold of anyone here. I’ve called and called and no one answers the phone. Went in to try and make an appointment and was very rudely spoken to and told they didn’t have appointments open for four weeks. That’s totally fine. Schedule me for the first opening. But nope. They won’t. Try to schedule online and you can’t because they are always booked for the next two months. Also found out that they won’t refund your installation fee if you come pick up the tires to take to any other place. AND that you have to pick up your tires after three weeks of them sitting there or they will be sent back. This place is so frustrating and ho early not worth the freakin time.

Murdo Sargeant and the crew in the tire center never disappoint. Always courteous, professional, and quick - which is a rarity these days in the service industry. And the waiting room right next door has a TON of options to kill time while you wait! Love Costco!

Usually like costco but not so much when it came down to a warranty on my interstate battery that has a 3 year warranty and a manufacturer date of 10/22 but they can't find when I purchased it so they said they don't know that it was purchased within the 3 year time period. Can't get it through their heads that it's not possible for it to be 3 years old therefore they said there's nothing they can do for me

Nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone. I've left several messages over the years, with never a return call. I've had them pick up and hang up on me. While I write this review I've had 1) a pick up/hang up, b) an apparent transfer with no voice, and 3) now endless ringing. I've had to practically beg them for an appointment time vs having them call me with a no show for me to fill. Every experience with the whole department has been very un-Costco like.

The prices during sales really can't be beat but customer service is frankly atrocious. I don't expect the red carpet at a tire center, but this location is basically impossible to reach on the phone. This was puzzling until my wife showed up there to get assistance (since showing up without an appointment is the only way we've ever actually received service), and watched technicians laugh to themselves while they intentionally let the phone ring. Employees consistently seem bored or annoyed and are either unable or unwilling to answer basic questions about why one set of tires might be better over another. It's also the longest tire or wheel replacement you'll ever receive. I don't expect auto care centers to be fast, but four hours for four wheels is a bit ridiculous. I've resolved to just let myself get gouged locally so I don't have to subject myself to the torture of communicating with these people. Really disappointing.

I was very discouraged with today's service at the tire center. I got there and was 1st in line. There were two folks at the service counter. I waited about 10 minutes, one person finished, and I expected to be served next. An older gentleman walks in and up to the counter and says to the person behind the counter. "OK, it's all set now," she says, "ok good," and proceeds to serve him in the process of buying two tires. This turns into a project. the register didn't work and had to switch. Couldn't find tires in stock, credit card didn't work twice. 15 minutes later, the other cashier says anyone with an appointment? Two people walk up. 10 more minutes, I finally get actual service. I was passed, and fortunately, the woman behind the counter was very pleasant and curtious, I was done buying two sets of tires in 10 minutes.

Ignore the advice on reddit - if you buy your tires from Costco, get them installed elsewhere, or plan to wait for 6 hours

I was so excited about getting my summer tires mounted at a reasonable price. I had my appt at an early date. When I called back about my new tires shipped I was told I had to cancel my appt because they were my own new tires. However if they're used tires they will mount them. The new ones something could happen to them and they wont put them on. I’m upset. Now I have to reschedule somewhere else at a later date, triple the price. Nothing like the feeling like being treated poorly.

It took over 4 hours to swap winter tires. At check-in they said between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. They are severely short staffed so they should not accept appointments or tell people it is a 4 hour wait. They get an extra star because the person at the front counter was very patient and polite in dealing with dozens of irate customers who had missed appointments or kids to pick up from school.

Got what was a good deal on tires, but they are simply overwhelmed now. Appointments where too far out so I went to pickup the tires. Took an hour just to find them and overheard some horror stories of cars being there for days without anyone touching them. They seem to be doing what they can, but have unrealistic expectations.

Don’t do it! Get your tires installed elsewhere for sure! The only reason they get one star is because of the hard work and communication by Gavin. He tried to keep things moving despite one tech calling out. Costco allows far too many appointments and it almost immediately gets backed up! They also had trouble finding peoples tires there so there must be an organization issue. Had a 6:00 appointment. Got there and they say 2-1/2 hours behind. We did not leave until 11pm. Those poor guys stayed 3 hours over their shifts! Tires seem fine but my low pressure sensor no longer works. What an absolutely miserable experience. The store closes at 8:30 so we had to move over to the shop to wait. It was freezing cold, messy, and uncomfortable.

Sitting hours later with no end in sight. Not sure why they make appointments. I love Costco but this is the last time I purchase tires from them!!!! Customer service couldn’t be worse! They way over schedule. Didn’t even call people to let them know.

We had a winter tire change. Our appointment was at 3:15. My wife 81 years old waited until 5;55 for service and was then told they couldn’t get it done ! What is wrong with this? I just heard that my son was there today for a tire change his appointment was at 1:00 and his car was on their lift at 5:00. I will never recommend Costco tire service to anyone again. As a matter of fact due to lack of concern on their part t may consider cancellation of my executive account! Shame on Costco management. When you schedule an appointment three weeks ahead of time I was brought up to expect service at a reasonable time! It’s a good thing I’m not their manager- I ve always made sure my customers were important - Costco could care less !

We made an appointment weeks in advance for winter tires installation, we bought the tires through Costco. Our appointment was for 6:15pm and they were running 2.5 hours behind when we arrived. They finished our car close to 11pm!! The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the tech, Gavin, stayed so late to get us and the other customers finished. Super nice guy who was working his butt off. But Costco should be ashamed for not having sufficient staffing.

I had a 10am appointment to put winter tires on. I was the second person of the day. Was told it would be about an hour. 3 hours later was told it was on the lift, but the only guy working was trying to run between several installs at once “for efficiency.” No idea if I’m ever getting out of here today. I also overheard them talking about having 3 new appointments every hour. Complete chaos. The service guy was very nice and polite though. The only reason they get an extra star. Just get your tires and go elsewhere.

Horrific. Zero stars. My appointment to get snow tires on was scheduled for 5:30 and we arrived right on time. We were informed when we got there that several employees had called out that day and so there was a 2-2.5 hour delay. There was no apology for the inconvenience and it was clear that the employee relaying this to us couldn’t care less. We did our shopping, went back to the tire center 2 hours and 15 minutes later and were informed that it was still going to take another 1.5 hours. When I politely asked what could be done for the inconvenience, I was basically told ‘nothing, because other people had to wait for 5 hours for their cars to be worked on earlier in the week’ We walked out with my keys 3.5 hours later, at 9 PM, after the store had closed. It’s pretty clear that no one is held accountable for poor customer experience at this location and the employees don’t care at all about the customer experience in general. Never going back here.

I have been going to Costco tire service center for many years. I would normally have given them five stars. Order your tires, make an appointment, drop your car off, go shopping, they usually call you about halfway through your shopping that it's done, finish your shopping, check out, and pick up your car on the way out the door. Easy peasy. Not today. Today I went in and dropped my car off like normal. Nothing was said about an abnormal wait time. So I went into the store and looked around, did some shopping, went to the pharmacy, etc. It was weird that I hadn't gotten a call yet, but I checked out anyway and headed to the service center. When we got there, they said it was going to be about another 30 to 40 minutes. Not great, but not too bad either. So we sat down and waited. After about another 45-50 minutes, we went and asked again for an update. They again said another 30 to 40 minutes. We had ordered a pizza and salad at Three Brothers and unfortunately that would put us past the time of their closing. So we had to call three brothers and change it from a pickup order to deliver to the house to the kids (teens) could at least have dinner while we were still waiting for the car. After another hour , we asked again for another update because we had to pick up our dog from daycare before a certain time. They said no problem. It'll only be another half hour. Well you guessed it. It still wasn't done. So at that point they had just pulled my car in to the bay and started taking the tires off. If I had known before that they hadn't even started on my car then I would have just left and rescheduled. However, they did not say that. And now I had no option but to send my husband to daycare in an Uber to get my dog before they closed and then Uber back to the store. Meanwhile, I had to continue waiting at the store with my cart full of groceries, medications, etc. on a hard bench. At some point I was in so much pain that I started crying. I was at a 10 out of 10 pain level and completely shutting down. When my husband got back to Costco with the dog, they were just pulling the car out of the bay. But in total it was over 3 and 1/2 hours for a simple tire change. This whole ordeal cost me over $100 in delivery fees and Uber rides. Plus over 3 hours of prep time for Thanksgiving dinner. Plus my body was completely out of commission for the rest of the evening. And I don't know what tomorrow is going to look like now. And all of this could have been avoided with simple communication. If they had called me earlier in the day and told me they were that far behind, I could have planned to bring my car later. I could have rescheduled for a different day. I could have planned to drop my car off and picked it up later. Any of these options would have also been available to me had they said something when I dropped my car off. I also don't appreciate being lied to. They told me multiple times that it would only be 30 more minutes. Obviously I am not going to call an Uber if my car is going to be done in 30 minutes because I would just have to call another one to bring me right back. I am not sure I will ever bring my car back.

Oh man I did not want to leave a bad review. I know they're working hard but that doesn't excuse the service. I waited for 90 minutes to just pick up tires. Not get installed or serviced, just pick up. And I left without my tires. I'll be needing a refund because that was insane. Day two of the tire debacle. Seriously do yourself a favor, do not buy tires from here. Do not attempt to get serviced here. Update: Took twenty minutes to find my tires for me to realize they were completely the wrong size. Not one dimension matched what I ordered. I ended up getting a refund which was good but still, four hours of my time over two days it's pretty wild. Would not recommend even if the tire price is good.

If you are thinking about buying tires at the Colchester, Vermont Costco, consider this: I purchased my tires from Cosco online. They actually arrived at the warehouse a week early! I was given the opportunity to get an appointment for mounting and balancing the tires earlier than originally scheduled. I chose the 5:30 PM available slot. My car was brought into the shop just after 7 PM. They gave me the keys at 9:05 PM! It took a little over three and half hours! A horrific experience. I should’ve gone to any number of service stations. Small business owner would honor their scheduling.
