There were honest and helpful. A dealership told me I needed a brand new transmission, and I came here for a second opinion and in fact did NOT need a new transmission and the team at Cottman Transmission was able to help fix the problem at a much lower price than replacing the entire transmission. This guys were very professional and knowledgeable. Ultimately, whether you get something to work on or not depends on what kind of money you have or what kind you want to put in something. I just had a Diagnostics ran on my vehicle. If it was in better shape than it is I would have paid to get the transmission rebuilt, but in my present situation and the fact that it's running fine, I opted out of that. It's not set in stone, though. If I do get it worked home, that's where it'll go.

Nobody wants to see a costly transmission code on a code reader. My 20 year-old TCM was replaced at Cottman Transmission. They gave me good value at a fair price. Rob and Joe are skilled in customer services and communicated with me for the week it took to ship the new, very scarce Transmission Computer Module. Spoke with 2 gentlemen on the phone, kicking myself for not remembering their names, but they were incredibly communicative and very helpful. Dropped the truck off on a Tuesday, and it was ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon. The interior was clean, and it hardly looked like anyone even touched the truck, but it runs perfectly now. Was referred to Cottman Transmission due to me CEL that kept coming on and off. Joe suggested to do transmission testing first before getting the transmission service. Rob did the testing and found the issue and fixed and it was not transmission (thankfully!)β¦ The shop is clean and everyone was very polite and caring! My new transmission was extremely expensive at $6,100 but it has held up well over the past year. After the install the AC and heat never worked normally again. I brought the vehicle back to their shop and explained the issue in detail. The tech said that "It was nothing they did" and wouldn't take a deep look, shrugging the issue off. I recently got the issue fixed by another mechanic who confirmed that the wires were put back in incorrectly. For the high price that I paid they should have acknowledged and fixed the issue that they caused.

DO NOT GO HERE After visiting there March of 2025 for issues related to my check engine light I was incredibly overcharged for the service. Which I found out at a later date from other automobile workers. Possibly because I am a woman. Not even a year later my check engine light came back on showing the same exact issue. I proceeded to take my car in so it can be fixed under the year warranty. They proceeded to keep my car for almost a week without any updates. I called multiple times to be told that my car either had not been checked or that they were waiting on a part. Upon return of my car I discovered that there is money missing from my vehicle. This is now the second instance where I have gotten completely ripped off by this company. DO NOT GO HERE.

I made an appointment but couldnβt keep the time and showed up a few hours later. When I arrived, the service writer was all over it and got me right in for a diagnosis. I was in, diagnosed within like 29 min!! Unheard of. I left my vehicle and got a rental for a week. However, by the end of the following day, I received a message saying my vehicle was ready for pickup. I not only got faster service than I expected, I saved money by only needing a rental for a day in lieu of a week. My vehicle drives great without issues now and customer service is outstanding. I recommend 100% and will definitely go back if I am needing service in the future!!

My son recommended Cottman's transmission to me and I called them to get an appointment. They gave me a date, 11/13/25, to have the vehicle towed inn which I did. And then the waiting began. On Monday, 12/01/25 at 2:30 pm, they called with an estimate on repairs and I authorized the work to be done. On Tuesday 12/02/25 about 2:00 pm they called with an update and said they just had to drive test the car, but it should be ready by the end of the day. I didn't get a call back, and I called on Wednesday morning, 12/03/25, at 8:41 am to get an update and was told they had to finish putting it together and test drive it. I finally got a call at 2:52 pm on Dec 4, 2025 stating the car was ready to picked up. Which I did at 4:38 PM. The car has run well and I am to take it back after about 200 miles to have them check for leaks. The workmanship appears to be very good, and the price is in the ballpark of what others quoted. But the customer communications needs improvement. Perhaps the old adage of under-promise, but over-deliver needs to be of value to improve customer satisfaction. The overall time from dropping the car off until getting it back was unsatisfactory.

Super quick work and got me in without issue. reasonably priced to boot. My ONE fuss though, went in to get a potential fix to a minor issue, known issue on the vehicle. Had the whole "hey, this might not work" "no, i hear you, lets give it a try anyways." discussion up front. Mechanic said the suggested course of work fixed it when I was checking out. Did not fix it, problem presented within 50 feet of the garage. Totally okay it didn't fix it, but man getting told wrong during checkout was a bummer.

The transmission in my wifes car decided to die on Christmas Day! I had it towed to Cottman the next day. Cottman called me when the car arrived and said up front that it wouldnt be looked at until the following Monday and the work would take a week if a transmission needed to be replaced. I appreciated the upfront honesty. Once the work started I got a call and text every time there was an update. They were very polite and knowledgeable and I did ask a lot of questions! The work actually finished a lot sooner than they initially said and I picked up the car on New Years Eve which was only 2 days later. For the transmission and 2 CV axles, I feel like the price was reasonable but the amount of time that it actually took was amazing! They even let me keep my car in their parking lot for a few hours after closing since I had to drive my wifes car home. I would choose Cottman every time for transmission issues!

I love how efficient and understanding the team at Cottman were. Mr. Rob and Mr.Joe were quick to help and quick to explain in a professional fashion my issue with the (MagnaT355) and currently fixing it now. You cant find good and trustworthy shops like cottman today. This is where I personally will be going anytime I have a Trans issue I cant fix or figure out. Its a shop that actually knows what they are doing and can trust and rely on them to let you know what the issue is.

I have a 2019 Mercedes Benz E300. During routine maintenance by the dealership that it was time for my transmission fluid to be changed. I reached out to Cottmanβs and was quoted a price range which of course was less than the dealership. I made an appointment and took my car in. Anthony and Rob were very informative and explained the process in detail. The customer service that I experienced was top notch. Iβm a very particular customer and feel that good customer service is critical. I have trust in them to service my car appropriately. I recommend them to anyone.
