Saved a lot of money having my car maintained at Cottman transmission. They did not try to sell me anything I did not need. and the work they did was always done right the first time. More trustworthy than the dealership and the loss leader oil change companies. I know I have added years of life to my Versa from following the Nissan's recommended maintenance schedule and by having Cottman's do the work. I would continue to bring my car to them if I still lived in Virginia but I moved to Florida.

Love Stan & the guys at Cottman's Auto! Super friendly and are more interested in customer loyalty than they are squeezing every penny out of you. Just this past week I brought in my car because of a squealing sound it was making under the hood. Turns out all that was needed was a belt tightening, which took them less than a minute to fix. They decided not to charge me at all for it. I recommend them to anyone having car issues!

I took my car here to see if I actually had transmission problems. As I entered I was seen coming in but ignored. I saw a mechanic standing across the floor from me on the work floor staring at me as he blew his nose onto the floor and he then wiped his nose with his hand and sleeve. Another gentleman drove my car and came back to say my transmission was bad and it would cost $5000 to fix. I left to get a second opinion from another transmission shop only to find out I had a misfire on cylinder 8.... Not sure why they tried to get me for my whole check but I was very disappointed. At the time of my visit, two people came in to bring their car back because they needed to correct a problem that they had caused .. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED ‼️

The best place to go for any of your service needs.., I first used them when I needed a transmission replacement which was supposed to be covered under warranty with a company known as Warranties Direct also owned and operated by Interstate Bankers based in Georgia.., Stan informed me as per the information in the warranty that a company inspector would be out to inspect the transmission for replacement and after weeks and countless calls and unreturned phone calls no one showed from this company and I had to get the State corporation commission Involved to get my premiums returned back to me and cancel this worthless piece of paper in my files. The trans got fixed and me and Stan have been business 2015

Stan and his team did a fantastic job trying to help with a difficult transmission repair on an older vehicle that had been improperly rebuilt by a different shop. They went to extra expense and time to try to track down everything needed to do the job right and get our vehicle back on the road and didn't ask for additional reimbursement for it. I had a great experience with these folks and can't provide a stronger recommendation for their service. Fantastic!

I went in 6/19/24 to have transmission check due to another auto shop saying the transmission was not shifting correctly… had an appointment first thing the next morning (6/19) and the service was great…Stan the owner was extremely patient with me and could sense I was a little nervous about my SUV…he answered all the questions I had and even looked up the questions he didn’t know the answers to. I will definitely be taking my car back because I felt the sincerity coming from him… I don’t know what other service he does, but I’m sure to call him again….he did not charge me to recalibrate my car codes…. I have used them in the past to install a transmission cooler. Their service then was absolutely phenomenal! I had some issues with my computer showing a transmission error module recently and went back. The owner, Stan, is so personable and knowledgeable. Great customer service from him and his staff. After having a rebuilt transmission done, I went to Cottman’s to have it rechecked because the other shop was very incompetent. I did not tell Stan upfront Cottman’s gives free diagnostics which is great! They checked my car and found it 3 quarts low and fluid everywhere under the hood! They found the leak and repaired it. Thank you Stan and Cottman’s!

Do not ever take your vehicle to this place I would leave zero stars if I could. I asked to have my 2001 Toyota tundra rear differential rebuilt. I paid for all the parts and labor which was approximately $1400 They kept my truck for over a month. I could never get them to call me and tell me when it was ready.. finally, I walk in there one day he tells me oh yeah, your truck has been done for a week. And I I paid left the shop. My rear differential was still grinding and making a hell of a noise the same noise it made when I took it there. I also had a gigantic dent in my rear quarter panel that was not there before. I took the truck right back to them. They said they would take another look another several weeks go by. And he tells me it’s ready again, and I asked him what they had to do and he tells me that they had to weld the rear end back together. Long story short I leave for the second time the truck still is broke and making a hell of a grinding noise in my rear end, fed up with Cotmans I take it directly to the dealership in which they tell me that they have completely destroyed the rear differential and that it would have to be replaced, which cost me 5000 more dollars. I reached out to Cotman’s asking for a refund got no response. I even put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and still got no response. Right now, they owe me $1400 approximately and will not respond back to me Thinking about having to sue them and take them to court to get my money back Stay far away from this place. The dealership actually told me that it appeared that the differential that was in my truck was the original differential, and that Cotmans had not replaced anything and still charged me all the money for it.
