I second the review of Pamela Harvey. The team at Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care, at 7801 Earhart Blvd., is incredible. I was nervous about getting my car repaired. I had had several bad experiences in the past. I can't say enough good things about Tod and Jason. You can trust these guys. They both were honest, communicated clearly and were straight forward about my car repairs. I did not need a new transmission afterall! I had a brake issue which they promptly fixed. I am so grateful. Thank you!

Brought my car in thinking I needed a new transmission. These guys figured out it was just a sensor. They had already ordered the new transmission but when they went to pull it out they noticed it wasn't cracked and did not need to be replaced. They could have easily just changed it anyway. Instead they called me and told me my car was ready and that I would be saving $4000! Great guys, great communication, and excellent service. I will recommend Cottman to all my family and friends. Went in with a transmission replacement, walked in the office we were strangers. We both respected one another, 5 min later neither one of us could shut up.. we laughed, then the head mechanic came in and we all laughed, they checked my transmission, it was bad, and didn’t even charge me. I was out done. I couldn’t have been happier. Fantastic service.

I wish I could give Cottman a 10/5 star rating because that's how exceptional my experience was. I brought my Nissan to their shop last week with a slew of warning lights, and they diagnosed a transmission issue that ultimately led me to search for a new car. As a young woman living on my own in NOLA, I had concerns about being taken advantage of when it comes to car-related problems. However, Cottman went above and beyond to ease my worries. They generously offered to inspect any cars I was considering purchasing, an offer I gratefully accepted. Todd and Jason, the dynamic duo at Cottman, were an incredible help and provided me with much-needed confidence during this challenging process. They were consistently honest and forthright about the situation, making me feel secure in my decisions. Thanks to Todd and Jason's expertise and integrity, I'm now optimistic that my new car will serve me well for a long time. Cottman truly deserves every star in the galaxy! Update: Cottman has come through for me more than once, and this time was no different. I had a flat tire late at night and had my car towed there because I knew it would be safe. By the next morning, Tod called me and he and Jason had everything taken care of quickly and professionally. They saved me so much time and stress—especially important since it was the weekend of my friend’s wedding. I’m so grateful for their help and highly recommend them!

Cottman restored my faith in auto mechanics. Todd, the service manager, and Jason, the mechanic, were incredible. I had gone to 2 other repair shops that were highly recommended to me, both of which were huge disappointments ( one did shotty repairs and the other tried to gouge me for $11k in repairs ) They did great work and also talked me out of unnecessary repairs that the other shop told me I needed. I really can't thank them enough and will not go anywhere else for repairs. Trustworthy and cost effective.

They performed a comprehensive check on two separate vehicles for me at no charge. Todd and Jason were personable, friendly, honest, and open in sharing their knowledge & expertise. They made me feel welcome and their information helped reassure me I was not buying a ‘lemon’. For the car I did buy, they provided me with a complete repair list with pricing, prioritized by urgency, so I could schedule needed repairs in affordable increments. Needless to say, I won’t be going anywhere else for servicing my car. They made me feel like family.

I went here after an auto shop told me I had internal transmission issues. They did a really thorough diagnosis and had a hunch that it was a different issue. They ordered the part for me and that totally fixed the issue, no brand new transmission needed like the other place said. Saved me 4 thousand dollars. I don’t usually take the time to write reviews. I should do it more often. I started my car yesterday and when I put the car in gear it sounded like the transmission fell to the ground. Brought it to a local mechanic who said that it was an internal problem and that I needed to get it to a transmission shop. He recommended Cottman. I was so certain that I was looking at a very expensive transmission repair or replacement. My car was towed to the shop at 8, I got the call from the shop by 11:00 and they said that I only needed a new switch and as it turned out, a rat or squirrel chewed through a wire. What I feared would be a $3-5K job was done for $300 and the job was done in less than a day. Many thanks for the great service and staff at Cottman. Ten outa ten. Would recommend!

Brought My car in for a transmission flush and was told it was completely free to check. After deciding $600 was out of my budget for a flush, I told them I would have pep boys do it for $179. I was then told I would be charged $121 for labor and materials and we proceeded to argue about the check being free and how they should have called and confirmed before doing anything that would lead to a charge. I talked him down to $80 bucks before paying simply because I got tired of going back and forth. I was also told my car holds 14qt when it only holds 10 and that my hose was broken when In fact, It wasn't. They seem cool but operate with poor professionalism. On top of that I was told by my dealership as well as pep boys that a flush isn't recommended because it can damage the transmission, They never mentioned this and was prepared to flush it.

Had a wonderful experience! As a first time car owner and new driver I was very nervous about going to a new mechanic. A good friend recommended this place and I’m glad I went ! Tod the service manager was warm and friendly and immediately put me at ease ! Jason and Troy were wonderful and very professional, they never made me feel like they were going to add unnecessary charges! They fixed an oil leak for me and got me back on the road ! They went above and beyond and saved my vacation! I had booked a non-refundable hotel at the beach, planning to drive there on Monday. But on Sunday, my vehicle decided it wasn’t going to do the thing we expect vehicles to do. I managed to get it over to Cottman on Earhart and left it in their lot since they were closed. But I was going on my beach trip! I reserved a rental car - an expense I hadn’t planned. As soon as they opened Monday morning, I went to Cottman to see if they could work on my car while I was away. They said yes. Then I called an Uber to get me to the rental car office – another expense I hadn’t planned. While waiting for the Uber, one of the mechanics called me and said he could fix it in 10 minutes. WOW! I cancelled the Uber, I cancelled the rental car and by 9:00 a.m. I was on my way to the beach. My bill was than $30! They put aside what they were doing, helped me immediately, saved me a ton of money, and earned my loyalty! Thank you Cottman on Eahart!

I love love love the Cottman team on Earheart. They worked with me over the course of a couple weeks to thoroughly diagnose the problems going on with my ‘09 Tacoma, making sure I only spent money where I needed to to get it in tip top shape again. It ended up needing a full transmission rebuild, and they took care of it quickly and professionally— it’s running better than ever now! But most importantly, they really took the time to talk through all the nuts and bolts, and literally even took me on a tour of the work they were doing. As a female mechanic hobbyist myself, I very much appreciated this extra show of care and respect. It’s not an easy experience to have in the world of car repair, and I will be a faithful customer from here on out! Thank you!!!

This shop truly came through for me during the holiday season.
