The way this company, (specifically Teal) handles its' business practices is not only unprofessional and unethical, but quite frankly embarrassing. When I went in to have another issue fixed, they said I needed an oil change and they could do it. I was grossly overcharged. I got upset about the pricing, along with the lack of transparency. I was told (by Teal) it was my fault for not asking the specific price of the oil change when they suggested I get it done. Keep in mind, there were also little to no signs stating prices of services in the building. We argued about the pricing of an oil change, I called a nearby big o to ask what they charge, and it was severely less than what Craig's charged. After arguing with me and speaking to me in the most disrespectful and condescending manner, Teal made it a very large point to let me know that his "back hurts today" and that he "doesn't need this right now". I was so baffled by the experience, but then I took the time to read some of the company's responses to negative reviews and realized this is not uncommon behavior for them. A company that becomes defensive any time they're criticized by patrons, is a very big red flag. It also tells me that I, as well as literally everyone else, should take our business to a different (honest and kind) local shop. Editing after response from owner: Thank you so much for the full price break down. Although nice to look at now, that information would've been incredibly helpful before any work was done on my car. You're correct, I made assumptions (which I can take accountability for) regarding the state fee and was unsure how it worked. It would've been awesome to have had someone who was knowledgeable in that area walk me through the correct pricing and processes, again before any work was done on my car. My issue is specifically with the attitude and treatment I received during this interaction. I stand by what I said, the behavior exhibited by Teal, a representative of the company as a whole, was embarrassing and unprofessional. Nobody is attacking you, I'm just writing the truth of my experience, and if posting that truth online embarrasses you, perhaps you should reflect and evaluate your business practices and the behavior of your employee's. Once again, you've written a lengthy response to a Google review instead of taking accountability/action and doing better. You give small businesses a bad name, and should be ashamed.

Been taking my cars here for years, parents have done the same. Have never had a single issue, and Teal is the absolute man! Just got my sway bar/struts replaced on my Tacoma today, they were able to get it done same-day and it feels like I’m driving a brand new truck. Craig’s is the spot!

A great place with truly trustworthy mechanics. Craigs was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad they were. I have a 2013 Subaru and Teal has been amazing at fixing all the problems that have come up. Not to mention the fast service. I recently found out I had 2 cross threaded lug nuts. Within 24 hours Teal managed to fix my lug nuts, get me new tires, replace my back breaks, and do an oil change. In addition, they have incredible customer service. It is so nice to find a mechanic who you know isn't trying to rip you off. I highly recommend this business! It's also so great to put your money back into the community rather than a big corporate shop. These guys are a must for any of your car's needs.

Avoid this place at all costs! We were in a bind and just needed a simple tire plug—something that takes less than five minutes and costs pennies. Most reputable places like Discount Tire or Big O do this kind of thing for free—you throw the mechanic a $20 tip and everyone walks away happy. Not here. They charged us $60 for a basic tire plug. No explanation. No shame. Just took advantage of the fact that we were desperate and had nowhere else to go. Total ripoff. This place is price-gouging at its worst.

I’ve lived in salt lake for 5 years now and have always taken my car to Craig’s mainly because of their proximity to my house. They are fast and normal pricing when it comes to regular maintenance but if there’s other issues with your car that aren’t normal then I’m not sure if I’d recommend they’ve got a pricey hourly and are a little untrustworthy. I had to get my cat converters replaced and something else that was over my head and i kept bringing it in and they kept doing everything but actually fix the problem. Then they quoted me for around 3k to do the cats. Then I took my car elsewhere and they fixed my car for 1.1k total and said Craigs has been fing me.

I've been here a few times for emissions/car registration and I generally have had good experiences. Today was a bit different when I called ahead to see if they could do an oil change with oil that I provided (a normal thing, I've been doing this with Burt Brothers for years, no problems). They quoted me $50 + an oil filter (around $15). They said they had time so I brought my car in around 2pm. I asked them to call me when my car was ready, they never did. I knew they closed at 5PM, so at 4:45PM I called and asked if the car was ready. They said yes, so I went to pick it up. When I got there, the total was $95. They then told me they changed the air filter - that's what the increased cost was. No one ever called me to ask if I approved of that charge and no one called me to tell me my car was ready. I expected better from a local shop I guess... Adding this based on the response from the owner below. To the owner: saying "sorry you had a negative experience" and then proceeding to tell me why its not your fault and that I can take my business elsewhere is not a true apology. Which is a bummer, because with a real apology I may come back and even change my review. I chose you because you were a small business not a Jiffy Lube - I figured you'd have great service and I like to support local businesses.

I had a great experience with Teal at Craig's- he shot me straight on what was needed and what I didn't need to do whereas another shop would've easily convinced me to spend a lot more money. This was for my 2017 4Runner, they have great knowledge of the vehicle and I would feel comfortable recommending them to anybody for Toyota service.

Teal and the team at Craig’s have been invaluable in keeping my Subaru, with over 200,000 miles, safe and running smoothly. I would recommend their services to anyone without hesitation. I first visited Craig's about a year ago on a friend's recommendation. I had an issue with my exhaust system and had initially gone to the dealership, where I was quoted several thousand dollars for repairs. Craig’s was able to fix the problem for a fraction of that cost—about 1/10 of what the dealership quoted. Since then, I’ve been a loyal customer, continually impressed by their honesty, transparency, and fair pricing. As a woman, finding a trustworthy garage has always been a challenge. At other places, I often felt I had to do my own research in advance to avoid being overcharged. Craig’s is the first place where I feel truly at ease. Teal has earned my trust by consistently explaining repair options and recommendations, even presenting alternative solutions. He and the team often go above and beyond, making me feel confident my car is in good hands.

I had a car towed here because it was really close to where it broke down and where I live. My brakes went completely out after a road trip along with my power steering. There was fluid leaking under my car when I got to a safe place that I could pull over. The next day they looked at it and said they drove it around the block with no issues with the brakes at all and that everything looked and seemed fine. It was like they didn’t believe me that my brakes were not functioning the previous day. They said “just be cautious” when driving it. I was still very nervous about it and decided to have it towed to a different shop. Come to find out from this other shop, my master brake cylinder was not functioning. Had I listened to the team at Craig’s I would have driven my vehicle home and who knows where with a brake system that was not reliable. After wasting $200, I was able to find out what was actually wrong.

I've been going to Craig's Service Center for the last 15 years. I've taken every vehicle I've owned to Craig's, and they've always delivered exceptional service. ​Finding a reliable auto shop can be difficult, but Craig's has earned my loyalty every time. ​Teal is great and a pleasure to work with. He makes the whole process simple and explains things clearly. You never feel like you're being oversold on a service you don't need. ​In the shop, the mechanics are awesome. Brad and Roland are very skilled, and always provided consistent service over the many years I've been getting my vehicles serviced. ​I can't recommend Craig's Service Center enough. If you're looking for an honest, reliable, and skilled auto shop, Craig's is the place.
