Took my car in twice convinced I had an expensive transmission problem. Both times, Crawford's accurately diagnosed less serious, non-transmission-related problems. Great people who can be trusted to fix your car.

Crawford Transmission was a lifesaver! I am a full time student who is driving an older vehicle and one day while driving the car kept switching into neutral. This car was terrifying to drive. I dropped it off at one mechanic and they directed me to Crawford Transmission. I spoke with Melissa on the phone and she was wonderful. She had a tow truck come get my car and they fixed the problem within a day. I was told I would need a whole new transmission from the first mechanic but Crawford's found that it was just an old part on the car needing to be replaced. They replaced it and it only cost $300 when I was expecting $3000. They are WONDERFUL and HONEST! Definitely go to Crawford Transmission!

Needed a tail housing for a Ford 4WD transmission and the staff took the time to look through used stock and found one. Sold to me for a reasonable price. Very happy customer. Thank you.

Diagnostic charge of $45. Couldn't get a code for the noise our Tuscon was making. Next day their mechanic drove it? Still no noise. Only one time $45 charge. Do you know what you call that? Integrity.

Everything about my experience with Mattex was positive. My air conditioner stopped working and I called the next morning at 8:00. By 9:15 a technician was at my house. Chris was the technician, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and showed me the parts that were not working properly. The cost was extremely reasonable, less than I would have expected. Would highly recommend.

We took our 2012 Town & Country (the worst year for Chrysler transmissions) in last Wednesday, and one could see from their lot that they were slammed. I mentioned that if they could get it diagnosed and fixed by the following Wednesday (two days from now), that would be great, as we were moving our youngest back to campus. They called two days later before lunch, and they had replaced the solenoid pack (as expected), and we were good to go. Tia, who worked with us at the counter, could not have been more pleasant or professional to deal with. Other car repair shops in town recommended that we take any transmission work to Crawford's, and they were right!

Took the car in because the transmission seemed to be stuck in second. They checked it, a mechanic “drove it around” and told us it wasn’t the transmission and to get the bushings and tie rods fixed and that would fix our issue. So we did. Got the car back from the other place and … it drove for an hour. Tires don’t make a transmission sound crunchy. Potentially, an input shaft has sheared off and it doesn’t drive now. So I’m not sure how them telling us to fix the tires was supposed to fix our transmission… but now we are out $1700 and a car. Just say you don’t know how to fix a transmission from Toyota. Would never take my car here after that. Lmao

Paid $50 for a transmission check for car a relative was buying. They drove it, said it drove okay and there were no codes showing, so they said it was fine. (These two things I also did on my own. I thought they would do a more intensive exam.) A month later, car won't go in to first gear or reverse and part of a broken solenoid is in transmission. I wouldn't recommend taking a car there for transmission check.

Finally, a business who employees/owners are people just like the rest of us consumers; I left this place feeling great! This is my second review I have ever written before. This company deserves praise for they help they have given me. I bought an old beater truck for $800. Of course, the transmission went out within the first year. That was fine for me, I bought the truck to be a hobby truck so I could learn some mechanic skills. I dropped the transmission and dissambled it. However, I didn't quite know what to look for to tell which parts were bad or good and there were a few steps during the rebuild that required special tools (which are hundreds to buy). I brought the transmission into Crawford Transmission and Mitch helped me out so much! He was so sharp and knew everything about my transmission. He explained to me which parts needed to be replaced and gave me advice on reinstalling the transmission back into the truck. Granted, I didn't pay for a whole transmission rebuild, but I did give them business for several of the parts that needed replaced. The parts were in stock or were in the next morning. I paid $130 for the new parts (compared to $500 online) and Mitch helped put the transmission back together for me. I had a great experience and would go back to this place in a heartbeat. My truck is back up and running and the transmission is back to chirping like new!

Quite reluctant to write this. but I feel as if future customers should be aware and observant if choosing this shop for future work. Scheduled an appointment for a vehicle suspected of early signs to transmission pump and torque converter failure and diagnostic. I knew something was potentially not quite right when an hour after dropping off I received a call saying it was just belt driven issues and transmission was fine. Upon arrival I actually looked under the vehicle for the first time to discover transmission fluid profusely leaking everywhere and a horrendous rear main leak. When going to the counter I asked what the service tech noted about all the loss of fluid. They stated it was never put on a rack and any physical drive component underneath was never inspected. I pleaded asking why not for the reason of suspected drivetrain failure. Was told they just don’t have time to put it on a rack. Completely devastated and upset beyond words I’m sad to say they’re just not the shop they used to be. If a shop isn’t willing to perform a diagnostic to even the slightest degree of appropriate level clearly they’re not the candidate for repairs. Not sure if this was a issue of just not wanting to take any future business of larger jobs or a complete lack of integrity. Around 50 miles later, the pump did fail and is currently requiring a new TC and hopefully just a pump build. For future recommendations if you have to choose this shop as an only option, become you’re own mechanic and perform your own diagnostic and ask for your own recommendations to be replaced prior to arrival. It’s a shame that this has to be this way as this shop has always been very highly prized In the area of quality work and customer satisfaction l. Unfortunately that just isn’t very true in todays age.

Absolutely great service. They were very accommodating in my emergency when my transmission suddenly died and was burned up. They informed me that it would take a while, however the turnaround was quicker than expected. The car runs better than when I first got it 3 years ago. They were friendly, reasonable, and did a quality job.

Great people to work with. Honest and upfront. They did a complete transmission rebuild for me. Got my wife's trailblazer done in a very timely manner. They came highly recommended to start with, after doing business with them I can see why. Very professional and stands behind the work they do. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs transmission work done.

This place is disorganized and no one seems to know what parts are needed for what vehicle. In close to a month, they failed to honestly tell me what, if anything, was wrong with my transmission. They took $5000 in a false claim they had a transmission that they weren't even sure I needed! I don't think they ever looked at my trans as I got seven different stories from them. My last conversation with them had them telling me to take my Jeep elsewhere; I did. Now they don't want to issue a refund. The poorest business I've ever dealt with and I've had some bad ones.

Had a simple fix, but great experience. My diagnostic thingy said I needed a new transmission sensor which I replaced. Didnt help so took it here. They diagnosed it correctly as a cable issue and replaced it very cheaply. They also discouraged a transmission flush since it had been 180,000 miles since the last one. So 5 stars for what many lack: ability to diagnose and ability to limit scope of work.

A couple friends recommended this place, so I waited two months to get in for diagnosis. They said the transmission was fine and that I should check my mechanic for other issues. I don't think they even took it out for a test drive because of the horrible noise it made would have made them search further. Well, MY mechanic ended up having to swap out the transfer case and unlocking the right front axle.

Brought my van in due to the vehicle veering left and abnormal vibrations on the highway. They called me back telling me nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Why would someone bring in their vehicle if there's nothing wrong with it? They charged me nonetheless..I do not recommend Crawford transmission at all. 07/31/24 Brought it to another shop for the same problems, they found that all 4 tires were egg shaped, out of balance and 3 out of 5 motor mounts were in need of replacement. I wish Crawford transmission would have checked like I had asked. But they seemed adamant that nothing was wrong with my vehicle. I also do not appreciate my phone call with them. As they told me that their technician said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, I kept promising that there was something wrong. They proceeded to tell me that "I can keep telling them til I'm blue in face..." Overall poor customer service.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful, they got my truck in for a transmission fluid exchange and it was done in a few hours with no issues. It was actually cheaper than I expected as well. Very reasonable price for something the dealership would have charged almost twice as much for. I can't speak for their other services, but when it comes to transmissions they know what they're doing.

Visit 1: I called and told them I have a 1957 Bel Air with a power glide and that I would like them to take a look. Lady at the front desk told me to bring it by. I called 4 hours later to ask about how it’s going. I was told that they couldn’t get to my car for the day. Aggravating, but I understand. I don’t like leaving my car outside in the rain across town but it happens. I just wish they didn’t tell me they were free to see me and then tell me that they can’t make it in. However, things happen and I wanted to be reasonable. Visit 2: My transmission is no longer operable and it’s not their fault at all. I called and asked if I can tow it and the lady said no problem. Same issue. 4 hours later I am back and paying for another tow to take my car home. They said that the transmission is too old, they don’t want to work on it and my vehicle still has not been brought inside. I’m out $130 in towing fees and my car hasn’t seen the inside of the shop. Both trips could have been avoided if they just communicated better. You could have told me EVERYTHING over the phone. My time and money have been wasted. Please save yours and avoid this spot. They did however offer for me to remove my transmission send it out or replace with another oem powerglide for $1700 not including the cost of repair or replacement, just the removal and reinstall. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
