Every time I bring a vehicle to this place I never have to go back again. I usually do all my own mechanics and maintenance because ever since I’ve done it myself I see mechanics less for major repairs. The only mechanic I trust to honestly work on my cars is D&D. Dave is a very knowledgeable mechanic and I know this from having mechanical experience myself. He replaced my whole engine in a very timely manner. I have my truck back within a week, including ordering the engine and waiting for it to arrive. I have a f150 and anyone who has one knows that these are very touchy engines and very complex to understand. Dave understands these trucks just as much, if not more than the dealership themselves. He’s on the pricy side compared to other places, but I promise you won’t have fix your car again if you bring it to him. Other places flim-flam you and break other things while they fix what you came in for and turn you into a regular customer. Dave will get you out of the shop for good and you’ll only have to see a mechanic for oil changes ever again. He’s a genuine one stop fix. Plus his hospitality at his shop is beyond compare. He’s great to talk to and really enjoys sharing his knowledge. Hell be just as excited to give your car back as you. He even looked over other thing wrong with my car and did quick fixes to make sure I was 100%, like cleaning up rusted and corroded wires. Thanks again Dave for your great work!

If you need an honest and skilled mechanic, look no further. I came in for a brake change on a 2019 audi (I don't have the special tools for releasing the EPB). They quoted me before they started, got my permission, and when they were done next morning they actually charged me less than quoted since the parts ended up being less when they bought it. They could have made the extra 80 dollars and not said anything but Sally being an absolute dear was just honest with me. It's a fully family owned business, dave and his son working the shop with Sally the wife holding down the front. Dave after he was done, even read some codes/faults for me and told me what they were - and the suspected issue, but didn't try to upsell me on anything, just to let me know of some minor issues that may need be addressed in the future if it caused further problems. They earned a lifelong customer here!

Hello, I’ve been a customer of D&D transmission for over 13 years. D&D has worked on all of my vehicles, family members vehicle and coworkers. I'm a single mother and grandmother and D&D always puts my family's safety first at great price. D&D is very terral and very dependable with their work, they explain everything step by step, keeping your family safety first. I was sad to see D&D relocate but am glad to see they have expanded to a bigger and better location. I am forever grateful for D&D transmission for putting family first. I was 100+ miles away from home, and my car decided to break down on me. In an emergency, I need to have my car repaired to return home. The closest service center was D&D transmission and service. My vehicle was towed hours later. They were kind enough to wait for the vehicle. Much to my surprise, they agreed to complete the repairs to reunite me with my family that night. It's an absolutely amazing gesture from this FAMILY run business. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Work of quality, service unmatched, and an incredible value. They waived the diagnostic fee and repaired my vehicle for much less than anticipated. I can not say enough how amazing this family is. I thank you, David, and your wonderful wife for your exceptional hospitality and service. I assure you I will visit to thank you in person when I am in Connecticut next. These values they hold are far and few in between. I would recommend this service center to every HUMAN in America. I had to have my SUV towed here and from the first interaction to the last was such a great experience. They was up front and explained in detail what was needed and what the price would be. No hidden costs or trying to fix other things. Straight to the point and step by step information. I was told how long it would take for parts and labor. Very fast service. I greatly appreciated once the part was put on and the vehicle was test driven he didn't like a sound he heard so he contacted me and proceeded to replace the part until the sound was gone. After a cold experience at Meineke I decided to stroll down the street for a better experience, having car troubles can be stressful, expensive, confusing, and most of all unexpected. It's nice to have someone take care of you that actually cares. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I was going to have a different experience and sure enough, the nicest people to talk to, honest and upfront about all cost. I let him know what I needed done and he completed the job to perfection tweaking other small quick fixes and letting me know of issues that may come up down the road. A true down to earth mechanic, they just aren't around anymore.

Heads up just got some work done on my truck D in D transmission shop at D&d65 Cook Ave Meriden ct. I do not recommend this place for on anybody they never did the work that we agree work is not done they won’t except checks they took my money after he took my money $1300 that we agree on before the start of the work t they. keep asking for more money what a bad experience what a bad business people I don’t recommend this place for anybody they lie and manipulate . No credit card payment no checks only cash go figure

I went to DND transmission with my VW TIGUAN, the owners are so incredibly welcoming and sweet and they called to see how everything went after. I really appreciate that. They found that the intake manifold in my car was a recall and instead of charging me anything to diagnose it they called and told me to go straight to the VW dealership and they will fix it free of charge. I even offered to pay for the diagnostics on my car and they said there’s no charge. I really respected the way they went about everything and felt like the honesty they portrayed throughout is hard to find these days, when bringing your car to any auto shop. Anyway great experience overall!

My time with D&D was very well spent. I bought a car in 2021 and long story short the transmission ended up failing and i thought it was over. D&D gave me good energy and vibes right off the bat from the moment i spoke with him. He kept me updated every week. Would call and ask questions and just treated me correctly. Ive felt taken advantage of by other mechanics in the past and D&D gives me the safety of knowing that my car will come out better than i brought it in. Amazing people over here.

I am very happy with the work D&D did on my truck. Originally estimated $5000-$10000 transmission rebuild, (Completely understandable price) but they did some research and found a service bulletin from Chevrolet and performed the work from the service bulletin. They did this on a Saturday, stayed passed their company hours to finish the job and get my truck back to me. They kept me updated and answered every question. Great Company and honestly glad i found them, dealership wanted to replace the transmission for $12000. Needless to say, they saved me $11000 in the grand scheme of things. I really appreciate what they did for me.
