I was just recommending Dana Meyer to a work colleague this morning after getting my old Jeep back from this shop. It had a few issues due to age. This is the second round of work I’ve had done, after getting a thorough list of issues the first visit with a very good inspection from Dana Meyer. Their communication is impeccable, and the work is very, very good. Dana Meyer also takes advantage of online tools that are easy to use to view your items to be repaired, see the estimate and in my case, see where items fall in urgency/priority. It is all very organized, clear and easy to track. To top it off, everyone is friendly and very easy to work with. So glad I found this shop! For the past 20+ years, I’ve had mostly classic German cars and where I took them all (a top notch shop) is very comparable to Dana Meyer, where I’d recommend you bring in anything from your classic ride to your beloved new daily driver. It is very valuable to me to find a shop I can trust.

Despite several decades during which friends have waxed enthusiastic about Dana & now Kobe's auto care services, I've lived either on the far side of Berkeley or (now) the far side of Oakland and have done most of the maintenance on my Honda CRV myself until I run into either a lack of an essential tool or an inability to diagnose a problem. The latter brought me to bring my car in today (for a diagnosis of several signs of potential trouble). Without any hyperbole, I can say that in the many decades of car ownership, I've never had such an exhaustive response to my asking "what might be going on with my car?" When I came to pick up my car, the estimate was less than the estimate I'd agreed to but technicians had completed more work than was included in the estimate - A business first for me in decades! I interacted with three staff members all of whom were exceptional in their evident competence, knowledge, and professionalism. Jen was very generous with the time she took to walk me through all that had been found in need of attention and the energy and enthusiasm with which she approaches her job is the kind of energy that left me with more faith in human nature upon leaving than when I arrived this morning. This is clearly a remarkable business and one that I'd encourage others to seek out. P.S. Dana and his family have been friends for decades which is the reason I sought help today at Dana Meyer Auto Care but even such a long friendship has never deterred me from raising hell when hell is what's needed and from giving well-deserved credit where credit is due, as it is here.

I was originally going to bring my car into Albany Tire but saw that they merged w Dana Meyer. Made an online appointment for a 180k service for my 2008 vehicle; that was quick and easy. Dylan was very friendly and up front about what all of the costs were going to be. I had a check engine light on that they diagnosed and fixed. I felt the pricing and recommendations were fair. Dylan and Noel were great. Best car service experience I’ve ever had! The car runs better than it has in years! Will be bringing the rest of the cars here from now on!

I had the pleasant experience of bringing my antique car to Dana Meyer Auto Care for an assessment and repair. I was fortunate to work with Dylan, who is fantastic in comprehending the issues involved and transmitting the evaluation information to me. The evaluation was first rate. It was thorough and understandable even though my car could not be fully repaired. With Dylan's suggestions I am trying to find some of the parts that are not made anymore. If I can locate a source for these parts, with Dylan's help, I will certainly return to Dylan and the crew and have them finish the job. If the repairs they do are as good as the assessments they do, Dana Meyer Auto Care is the place to bring your car for outstanding service.

Thiz experience was purely EXCELLENT in service. I went to get a wheel alignment for my car. Prior to going to my scheduled appointment I called to get a quote as to how much it will cost. I received the quote and made the appointment. Arriving to my appointment on 1/12/2026 @ 10am I meet with Vy. Upon talking with him he quoted me a very different rate which was not quoted to me prior to scheduling my appointment. When I shared with Vy that when I called I was quoted a price much less. Way less. Vy then shared with me that he can reach out to management and upon doing so in my presence management agreed to honor my prior quote in which I was told over the phone by a technician. In fact the quote from management was way less. Shocking right?. In conclusion, I respect businesses 100% percent when they 1). honor their WORD , 2). Respect the consumer, 3). Open to negotiate with upper management on the consumer behalf. I'm not one to give reviews bcus I'm a Truth Teller. Therefore, I would HIGHLY recommend this place hands down. I also gave them a tip for their very calming and positive Energy 😊😘🎉!......peace!

My regular mechanic was out of town, and I needed a last-minute pre-purchase inspection for a used Toyota RAV4. Dana Meyer has given me terrific service on my Miatas since 1992. All types of services have been provided, including a new engine for my 1991 in 2003. Most recent service on my 2007 was several axle/strut/shock kinds of things. The best has been multiple hours of consultation by one of Dana Meyer's highly knowledgeable and patient mechanic advisors. He recommended what my car truly needed and didn't push on the nonessential.

I have a new favorite mechanic and auto repair! After my mechanic retired, I had a difficult time finding a replacement until I came across Dana Meyer Auto Care. I was able to get an appointment when I needed one. They also sent a reminder via text/email. I brought my car in for an oil change. The check-in process is quick and efficient, and handled by a great staff member. (D R Ramirez, a staff member from my old mechanic, whom I was happy to see) In addition to the oil change, they will also rotate the tires if needed. As part of the service, they also prepare an inspection report, which is provided when you pick up your car. They had vacuumed the interior of my car, which was a pleasant surprise. I had a very positive experience with Dana Meyer Auto Care. It was my first time there. I was told what needed to be done for my 90,000 service and the price. I received a call telling me my car was ready. At that point I was informed that I needed other repairs that weren’t included. I was told what those repairs were and how much. They told me that they should be done but I had some time to do them. I really appreciate their honesty and their helpfulness. I just realized that they cleaned up my car. It looks better than I when I brought it in! I’m definitely recommending Dana Meyer Auto Care.

Excellent auto repair shop with outstanding customer service and highly qualified professionals. One major standout is the detailed photo inspection report they provide — it makes a huge difference in clearly understanding the actual condition of the vehicle and helps visualize services that were not originally planned but may need attention. The transparency is excellent: you can review each item and choose whether or not to approve additional services, with no pressure at all. Everything is clearly explained, which builds a lot of trust. Great communication, professional staff, and a strong sense of honesty and expertise.
