I brought my car in twice in the last 4 months for breaks, oil changes, and alignment. Both times I drove my car off their lot after being serviced, it had loud clicking/knocking/ squeaking sounds that weren’t present when I brought it in. Both times it was mechanical error and then lack of test driving afterwards to ensure the work was done correctly and safely. No apologies for wasting my time both times to have to bring it back in to be corrected on another day. Don’t waste your time or money here, their bottom line isn’t about quality work or ensuring your vehicle is safe to drive after they service it, it’s surely about money.

Steve and his crew have really helped us many times by promptly and diligently repairing roadside hazards to our tires so we can get back on the road. They have also performed many needed services beyond tires to my cars over the years including alignments, oil changes, bearings, struts, air conditioner repair, and more. They are prompt and very professional, and have very reasonable prices without nickel-and-dimming you. I’ve recommended many others to them who have been very pleased with their no-nonsense work as well. I highly recommend El Cerrito Tires.

Ken says, “No gimmicks, no specials, just great tires at a great price.” He went on to prove his point this morning; great prices on tires and installation with alignment in less than 2 hours (with an appointment scheduled yesterday, of course). Again, I’ll be back! (leaving my review from a couple of years ago up) Steve and crew make a person feel as though their vehicle really is special... waiting for a friend's car (minor repair) I noticed just how much it means to have one's possession treated in this manner. The other customers, who came and went while I waited, had their troubles addressed and treated with genuine concern. This is the mark of a good business. The work done on my friends car was excellent... even replaced the bulb in a running light at no charge.

Needed new tires quickly for a trip to the mountains. Considered Costco but it's a hassle having to order tires, wait for delivery and then make an appointment for installation. Searched around and found El Cerrito Tires who had my tires in stock and installed in under two hours at a very reasonable price with very friendly service as well. Quite impressed!

Great people and fair prices. Dependable work. They've been the main shop servicing my Lexus for the past 80k miles and my partner's Nissan too. Steve is very knowledgeable and I always appreciate his honesty and willingness to give advice to me and to the other customers. The rest of his team is similar too. From experience and from overhearing them talk to other customers they're also great at explaining car problems and options and are empathetic to the stresses and cost of car ownership rather than upselling like many other shops.

First quote off of a cold call, the tire pricing from El Cerrito Tire was better than online from Tire Rack which is rare for a bricks and mortar shop. When I brought the vehicle in, the service representative saw that I had oil and a filter sitting on the passenger seat and offered to do my oil change at a fantastically reasonable price (even for someone who DIY's their oil changes) while they replaced the tire. This shop wants to earn your business and keep it.

Have you ever run into somebody that is a negative Nelly? That would be the owner.. my car is low, he said it wasn't going to fit on the Lift.. and he said he would have to charge me extra because he would have to use a jack (really)? But, nobody told the mechanic as he started lifting my car on the lift. It was clearly up in the air and he told him to put it down. He told me my body is too high for the lift.. he just told me my car was too low???(what does that mean? )I had four tires to put on and he started whining about the tires were too wide in the front and it wasn't going to work and I should do my homework and not question his 30 years of experience.. I was tired of the I can't do attitude so I opted to just get the rear tires on. He charged me $160 just to put the tires on that I bought.. the next day I went to Best American tire and brake in Albany, pulled right up they changed my tires they had a can-do attitude, Mount and balanced for $50 bucks and guess what? I did do my homework the front tires fit perfectly and they didn't charge me extra to use a jack to jack up my car.. Saw your reply, Still Whining.. Here's a picture.. now you see what I can do attitude can accomplish and it was $100 cheaper for the same service
