Did not trust the person helping me. Always seemed to be pushing something. Also waited until after his lunch to let me know he would not complete work when promised even though he knew I was waiting. The manager was then helpful

We were able to get an appointment quickly. The person answering the phone was polite, welcoming and professional. I told her I needed to speak to someone and they called back in the later afternoon. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and acknowledged and told where to leave the car. The receptionist took detailed information about our problem and then waited for our loaner car. They told us it would be ready for the next day. We were also able to get our car serviced. This is a great place to get your car serviced. I highly recommend this Service Station as they are professional, efficient, clear and responsive to questions.

Not once but twice I had 2 different nails on 2 different tires this year. The one place I trust to take my Crosstrek as always is the Subaru service place on San Pablo. They were prompt and efficient in their work. I always leave with greater sense of assurance and satisfaction that my car was in good hands.

Albany Subaru was efficient with windshield replacement. We asked for estimate and scheduled service appointment in advance. They mentioned that it may take all day. However, they were done in a few hours and they also allowed and applied a discount coupon for the service (satisfying us and insurance company, as well).

I was initially frustrated because I thought I was bringing my car in for the express service so I would only have to wait an hour and a half but I was told that service actually started later. But now I know. The gentleman helping me was professional and kind.

During maintenance their tech broke Ring Car Cam's OBD-II connector (no doubt as they are recorded on video messing around the OBD-II port the moment the camera goes offline). Took car back and they tried a few things and promised to contact me. No contact to reimburse and Ring can't replace the non-standard charger they used in this no longer available awesome product - now I have a $250 paper weight that used to work perfectly before visiting Subaru Albany. Accidents happen, but this place seem committed to not take any responsibility for damage they do.

Really appreciated the loaner car and fast, friendly service; however, I didn’t get a breakdown at the surprisingly high estimate for the possible repair.

I was very appreciative and more than satisfied with the excellent care from Alan at check in. He was attentive, personable, knowledgeable about all aspects of my Crosstrek and explained things in a comprehensible way. I have brought my cars here for service over many years and will continue to do so.

I’ve been taking my new car to Albany Subaru for the last two years, and the service here has always been excellent. They go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met, including offering loaner vehicles if your service is going to take longer to complete. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are generous with their time and advice when troubleshooting issues. I am continuing to be a happy customer.

James was very friendly, great and prompt. I did it with my cardoc subscription and came in for a 6 month general maintenance. Nothing specific

I usually have a good experience but this time in additional to the usual servicing, I requested the dealer to look at my left rear view mirror cover which has melted twice, I think it would have melted as many times as I replaced it. A mechanic at a body shop told me it doesn’t look like the sun, more like wiring or something. To be safe I had it checked out and was told it’s just the sun, probably reflecting off of a window. I questioned why only the left mirror was melted and was told the right side was damaged too as well as the racks on my roof. They couldn’t answer why only one mirror was damaged. I checked my racks and didn’t see any damage, they are metal, other than usual wear and tear on a five year old car. See pictures.

I appreciate Albany Subaru because it is close by and even though they are higher cost for basic services like oil or brake service, with a mid-life car they have knowledge of extended warranty issues that may save money on repairs - which Subarus tend to have. That said, I am frustrated by the constant battery problems on my 2019 Subaru Outback. At this last oil change, the tech said the battery was under-performing again, after just replacing it 6 months ago, under a partial warranty from the previous battery. They charge $400 for a basic battery replacement. I really wanted to love my Subaru but it is just not reliable and I don't know whether it is the service, the parts or the design or combination of all. The service person said - you should take a long a charger just in case.

Easy to schedule, fits into your schedule, service completed on time and you leave confident your vehicle is in good condition. The perks are always a plus -waiting area always nice and clean and there’s snacks big plus pet friendly. Since I purchased my vehicle here it’s cared for..

They did a very nice looking job for a hitch receiver installation. Customer service is very good as usual although I received a comment from the payment desk that sounded borderline snarky. I hope they all realize that the success of a service department is a team effort. Also, if you care about pricing, it is important to understand the typical amount of time required for a given job, the price of parts, and alternative repair options because none of this is discussed here. Subaru Albany pads out their numbers. It's a pretty standard practice. For this shop, it's on the consumer to know what the job would demand of an experienced outside tech, what other solutions experienced outside techs would recommend, and how much one is willing to pay to keep parts out of landfill longer. I use Subaru Albany because they are reasonable people who will stand by their work and whose car loaners also represent a certain value add.

The staff was very friendly, came on a holiday week, so probably should not do that next time a little disappointed that I couldn’t actually get the issue I came in for fixed. This was the tire pressure sensor warning system that has been going off in my car for almost a year even after I got four new tires. At appointment I was told yes it was a tire pressure sensor issue which I kind of knew for $100 so yeah, a little bit frustrating. Also, they didn’t even have the sensors in stock although I’d had this appointment booked for weeks honestly a little ridiculous in my opinion-an Anyway I am gonna have to come back for replacement of the sensors -pretty frustrating.

I've been coming here for over ten years for all services (since I bought my Impreza here in 2014). Always 10/10 for many years until after Covid. I had a really negative experience and wasn't planning on going back. But I unexpectedly got a flat a few weeks ago and needed to get it fixed quickly, so I came back. I worked with a different service rep (Daniel S.) and he was awesome. Much better than my previous experience. Now I am kind of on the fence about continuing to go back for service. I know life has gotten a lot more expensive since I started getting service here but I wish there were at least some opportunities for better deals. Or maybe special bonus/deals for longtime customers : ) To give an example on the price increase: In 2017, I got an oil change and tire rotation for $90.56. The most basic "minimum" oil change price that they just quoted me last week was $243.62.

After buying out the lease on my car I needed to complete a CPO inspection at the service center. I no longer live near the dealership where I leased the car and was told this couldn't be completed at the dealership near me, so I had to drive from out of town specifically for this appointment. I was assured it would be a same day service when I booked it. Despite limited communication throughout the day, I then received a text in the evening telling me my car could not be returned that day. I had book a hotel last minute and when I asked how long it would take the next day, was given a vague response again, only via text. It took until nearly half way through the next day for my car to be returned and I'm unsure if that would have been the case had I not waited at the dealership in person. When the service representative returned my car, there was no discussion about any of the findings of the inspection or services which needed to be performed. In reading the paperwork, it appeared to be services similar to standard regular maintenance which I find hard to believe it would take over 24 hours to complete. I understand that places get busy and service gets delay, but the overall lack of direct communication or basic costumer service felt disrespectful towards a costumer who just bought a car from this dealership. Looking forward to future services at my local dealership instead. I unfortunately don't remember his name, but one employee at this dealership did remember me and my situation and did his best to at least get me more information despite not being directly involved in the service of my vehicle. I'm appreciative for his help and his extension of apologies for this situation.
