I've brought my vehicle to Dayton Transmission Repair twice (for unrelated issues), and was extremely impressed both times! After being told elsewhere that my transmission needed to be replaced, Dayton Transmission was able to repair it for a fraction of the cost. They have proven to be honest and straightforward, and I appreciate that they do not try to "fix" things that aren't broken. I highly recommend them!

Buyer beware, so took my Acadia in last year for a trans rebuild, and of course in true mechanic shop fashion, they give you a price $3900 then come back with a higher amount than the original. So fast forward a year later transmission out no longer goes in reverse, after an transmission rebuild really. So of course it's after the 1 year warranty so ill be left with taking care of it. After a year there's no reason a transmission should take a catastrophic failure such as that, after a rebuild. Now with a shop claiming that they've been in business for 30 some years. You'd think it would have a better job done o. A vehicle

We are from out of state. They're most helpful. Knowledgeable. Good price. The kindest people. Easy to talk to. Thank you gentlemen.

Stopped in here to get a transmission repair for a nissan rogue. After going over my options, we decided on a used replacement transmission that came with a warranty. Dayton transmission did a fast and beautiful job installing the transmission, but sadly, after a short amount of time, the used part failed. Dayton transmission totally stood behind their work to get me back on the road. I couldn't say enough good things, but most of all, they were open and honest with me.

I just wanted to say a word about the good people at the shop. My son and I are driving from the East Coast to the West Coast Seattle and then north to British Columbia We are driving my sons 20-year-old Toyota 4Runner. His truck had some odd behavior just before we hit Dayton. We went to another shop that suggested rebuilding the transmission at a cost that was more than half the price of the truck. After some discussion my son found Dayton transmission via Google. They made time for us in a very busy schedule. They made an extended effort Via road test and also engine diagnostics to replicate the problem. They then gave us solid informed advice. They wouldn’t take my money so I figured telling the story was the least I could do. Bottom line - friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Could easily have suggested some expensive repairs which we would have paid for. They provided excellent transmission advice. Much obliged

Had a bad TC, they said I needed a rebuild even tho the car drove fine but ok, get a rebuild, two weeks later my shift cable bushing pops off while driving so car can't park. Had to bring it back and have them fix that but tried to tell me if it wasn't so soon of my service they would've charged me. Five months later, the trans goes completely out but under warranty and now they claim I need new trans coller lines and the way they looked it shouldn't never left the shop looking like that. So they tell me they gone do the rebuild but if I wanna keep my warranty I need to pay for new lines. Someone at the shop damage my trans lines and broke my passenger abs wire and put a zip tie on my control arm to hide it and when asked they said it came in like that. As soon as I get the car back they didn't test drive it cause it had the same miles in and out and two weeks later my trans pan comes apart and all the fluid comes out thus blowing the trans. Shop here at your own risk!!

Dropped my Yukon off on a Tuesday evening and picked it up on a Friday evening with a rebuilt transmission. Transmission works as it should now, I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. Update 3/4/2026: My transmission developed a leak, I brought it and they fixed it promptly. This says alot about this company, when problems arise they were there to help. Thanks guys.

I guess I'm order for them to work on your vehicle in a timely manner depends on how much you're spending. They do not work on a first come first serve basis. Has taken a week for a diagnostic yet all other service orders are for 4-5 days after I dropped my vehicle off. Also told me it would cost $3500 to fix s throttle body when the average price is less than $1000 to fix. These people are dishonest scammers I would not recommend anybody go here

Who ever they have answering the phones, need retraining! That’s the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life!

They fixed my car fine. Expensive, but fine. Problem is they broke my tail light and turn signal in the process. They denied that this happened and told me to have a nice day. AAA pictures be damned. Parking lot is too crowded and full to avoid and deny these accidents.

I took my car to Dayton Transmission (215 S Patterson) on February 7 for a diagnostic test. No one mentioned they were busy or short-handed, and I had previously received next-day service from them. However, after I called Saturday to check the status I was told early Monday. Monday afternoon I called and the owner stated that he would call me by the end of the day. Still no call, I called to check on my car’s status the next morning and instead of a simple answer, I was met with rudeness from the employee who answered the phone. I then asked to speak with the owner or manager, expecting better treatment, but was shocked to receive the same dismissive and disrespectful attitude. As a paying customer, I should not have to deal with unprofessional behavior just for asking a reasonable question. It’s clear that they do not value all customers equally, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this business—especially to women who expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. If you want quality service and professionalism, take your business elsewhere!!!

Trustworthy, honest people. I called describing my problem because my husband and a mechanic friend thought we needed a transmission fluid flush, and the person I spoke to recommended doing nothing because it likely would make our problem worse. Thankful for people that did not just want my money.

I came in from out of town needing help with a diagnostic problem and had a fantastic experience! Chris and the team took great (and QUICK) care of my vehicle and diagnosed a long term problem on my vehicle. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Chris and Kevin are great. They were able to fix a problem that three other service shops could not on my Crown Vic. Give them plenty of time and they will do everything they can to fix your issues.

I just had a repair on my transmission and they took great care of me. The repair ended up being a lot less than I feared. Transmissions are something that can get very expensive very fast, and I would have no way of knowing whether it really cost that much. They were recommended to me by Muffler Brothers in Bellbrook, who has always taken great care of me. I'm very pleased with the service I received at Dayton Transmission and would definitely recommend them.

I was stuck out of town due to a huge snowstorm that messed up my car. They helped me much faster than anyone else was available! Staff was also extremely friendly and even gave me suggestions on things in the area.

I was pleased with the friendly service and the quality of the repair. The price was reasonable and what I expected to pay. My clutch is no longer making haunted house noises and it shifts like a knife through butter again. I would recommend this shop to others.

My son's car had transmission component failure on St. Rt. 35. The dashboard light literally said, "transmission overheating." We googled transmission shops and told him to limp it there if possible. Over the course of a week they diagnosed the problem and fixed it for a very reasonable price! We feel very lucky to have had a break down so near a reliable shop.
