Beware! Unless you are willing to pay out of pocket for a rental for 6 months while they do nothing to your vehicle and then take the risk of your tire coming off after they “fixed” it. My husband was in an accident with his work Suburban on June 15th. Because of the company’s fleet service, they sent it to Downtown Garage and Auto Body. They were told that it would be finished within a reasonable amount of time. I don’t remember the time promised, but it was around a month. Apparently, someone did not order all the parts the first time. When they went to install the parts (several weeks after they received the damaged vehicle), they realized their error. By that time, the part was on backorder. After months of this part being on backorder, my husband’s employer found vendors that could personally drive to a supplier in New York and pick up the part. Last Friday, December 17th, exactly 6 months after the accident, he picked the vehicle up. If it had been up to them to get the delayed part, who knows how much longer it would have taken. Today, December 23rd, his front passenger wheel was making terrible sounds and was angled out. Fortunately, he was next to an NTB and they were able to tell him that the ball joint was, in nice terms, screwed to hades. This was the exact location where the other driver had hit his vehicle during the original accident. If he had continued driving, his tire was sure to have become unattached to the vehicle. Most insurance policies only pay for a rental for 30 days. This means that his employer has had to pay $100 per day for a rental replacement for 5 months while these guys have had his vehicle. $15,000 for a rental vehicle while these guys did not seem concerned one bit. And then they let him leave with a faulty ball joint. (If it was his personal vehicle, it would have been moved to another shop in July.) If you DO use them, I would recommend staying on top of the progress and do not hesitate to move your vehicle if they start giving you lies about estimated progress. My husband and I now have a tongue-in-cheek joke mocking the “it will be ready in 2 weeks” line that the guy gave him each time they talked. *Pictures included of the normal driver side and the damaged passenger side. In June, a vehicle collided into this passenger side wheel. 6/17/2022 Update: Paint is peeling on the front bumper. I’m not sure this place does anything correctly.

I brought my brand new, only 4K miles on it vehicle in for rear damage repair as someone backed into me. Customer service was good, with regular updates throughout the process. However, when I picked it up I noticed "new" damage to the front of my vehicle. Looked like they scrapped against the garage or hit something else. Even though, they were quick to let me bring it back in, next day, without any issue it was a quick "fix". The scratch was reasonably deep and looks like they buffed out what they could and maybe touched up the paint. All within an hour, but I can still see the deeper scratches. In addition, the inside on the drivers side had mud/dirt everywhere when I first picked it up. They had my car for a month and I was scared this would happen. The plastic piece on top of the rear bumper where the initial damage was located is also coming off on one side, but I'm not taking it back, I'll let Toyota handle it. I was so devastated to begin with, damage on a brand new car, but to see additional damage just added to the frustration.

Follow these reviews. I had the absolute misfortune of my insurance using this shop twice. First time my truck came back worse than when I droped it off. Hood, bumper, and fender are not even close to being adjusted properly. Second time my mom’s Buick seat motor began to smolder. After paying this shop for a new seat, they decided to just change the seat motor and charge for a full seat replacement. Pick the Buick up to find the passenger seat has a massive gouge in the plastic. The tabs holding to molding on are not secured in. The tabs are sitting above the plastic they are suppose to go inside. Seriously run from this shop. I’m a tow truck driver and have thankfully been able to save many of my customers $1000s that not coming here

My 21 Subaru was involved in a very bad accident on 09/30/22 ( it was broadsided) and Downtown Garage did an excellent job of repairs . It took a while due to parts shortages but the job was done correctly the first time. Needless to say I still highly recommend this local shop to any corporate shop out there. I purchased a car from a person and the car had to pass state inspection for me to purchase. The person took it to Downtown Garage and had it inspected by Charles Cooke and he illegally passed the car. After one 30 minute drive I noticed issues so I had it examined by another shop and the frame didn’t pass or the suspension. They cost me 4,300 dollars by taking money under the table to pass this car.

My experience was extremely short but long enough. I lost my brakes going down the road and called in to find a lovely older woman who was extremely helpful, she told me to be safe and they’d help me out, I get there and park where I was told to by one of the guys, as I walked in a young lady asked what she can help me with and after I told her my truck had zero brakes she tells me to park my truck in a spot not where I was told to park. I tried to explain that I had no brake pressure at all but instead of listening she rudely tells me she isn’t asking me to park somewhere else she’s telling me to park somewhere else. So as carefully as I got there I carefully left and took my truck to Firestone where I was greeted and helped with the kindness and professionalism you’d expect from any place of business. Not sure what her attitude or issue was about but won’t be taking any of my business to them. Best of all, when I get to work my coworker who just had them do an alignment on his old diesel truck tells me they didn’t do a good job on his truck and he has to take it somewhere else to get it done all over again. Highly recommend to stay away from this company

Owning a White Dodge Durango means driving a vehicle that looks like a high-speed stormtrooper. It’s bold, it’s bright, and it’s very, very obvious when you accidentally try to merge with a galvanized steel guardrail. I turned the entire passenger side of my "White Knuckle" paint job into a 6-foot long charcoal drawing. I was convinced my Durango was destined to spend the rest of its life looking like a giant, angry refrigerator that had been attacked by a grizzly bear. I brought it to Downtown Garage, and honestly, I expected a lecture. Instead, the manager looked at the jagged metal swirls and the missing trim pieces and simply said, "The guardrail always wins the first round. We’re here for the rematch." White is a tricky color. Too yellow and it looks like old teeth; too blue and it looks like a hospital hallway. These guys matched the factory finish so perfectly that the car looks like it just rolled off the lot—instead of rolling off the shoulder of Route 3. My Durango is a big girl. There’s a lot of surface area to screw up. But the lines are now so straight and crisp you could use the door panels as a level. They replaced the trim and fixed the dented wheel well so well that my wife and neighbors will never know about my "slight steering miscalculation" unless they read this review. When I picked it up, it was glowing. It didn't just look "repaired"; it looked redeemed. The menacing, "get-out-of-my-way" Durango energy has been fully restored. Pros: * The "Guardrail Grey" accents have been successfully removed. * The car no longer whistles at highway speeds like a haunted flute. * They buffed out the scuffs on the rims, which I definitely didn't tell them about but deeply appreciated. Cons: * The car is now so white it’s legally classified as a "light hazard" in direct sunlight. * I have lost my "cool scar" and now just have a pristine SUV and a very expensive lesson in physics. If you decided to use a highway safety barrier as a personal guidance system, take it here. They’ll fix the metal and won’t judge your driving skills.

The ladies in the front are AMAZING, very down to earth and personable. I wasn’t able to pick my car up for a week after it was repaired and they were very understanding and helpful. I like the extra touch of receiving a text from Javier when my car was going into the paint shop. When I came to pick up my car Javier came out and introduced himself and spoke with me about my car. Old-fashioned customer service DOES exist, and you can find it here. You won't walk in and face silent people looking down - you will be seen and greeted here! They actually show they care for customers. Location: easy to find, ample parking, easy to get in/out. Appointments: simply call and a human answers! Not only that, but they are all extremely friendly and polite! Easy to book appointments, lots of time blocks, they'll work with your needs. Estimates: super quick and easy! They were so polite, friendly, and informative. During my original estimate, they explained what they could see and that, once they pulled everything open, they may find more damage. They did, but I was updated immediately as was my insurer. I got no impression whatsoever that they were looking for something extra to charge or add - just what was necessary and everything was spelled out. Rental: my insurance sent me to Enterprise, who picked me up at the garage to go get a rental vehicle. When picking up my car, I was able to leave my rental with Downtown Garage for return. However, had I needed a ride, Downtown will also provide transportation within the local area. Facility: small, clean waiting area. Focus here is on the working space to repair/service vehicles, so don't expect free snacks and computer desks like some dealership service locations - this Garage does what it does well and with a clear focus on maintenance/repair and customer service. I highly recommend this business due to my experience with great repair work and excellent customer care.
