Gregg and staff are very easy to work with , and do a great job keeping my old tundra ( 296,000 ) on the road. I trust they will price things fairly and would highly recommend anyone looking for a fair , honest and skilled mechanic.

2015 Jeep Patriot - I was driving my Patriot over the weekend when my Electronic Throttle Control warning light came on. I was in the Schaumburg area when this happened so I took it to the dealership where I purchased my Jeep from. After waiting until Monday, my dealership told me I needed a new set of spark plugs and a new throttle body. They quoted me $1400 for parts and labor. I immediately started looking for someone more local (I live in West Dundee) and found Dundee Automotive during my search. I called in and spoke with Pat. Within 10 minutes I had an out the door quote which was less than half of what the dealership quoted me. I picked up my Jeep, dropped it off at Dundee Automotive (Monday) and by Tuesday before noon it was fixed. I will definitely be calling Dundee Automotive the next time I am in need of service. If I could give them more than five stars I would.

I came to Dundee Automotive as an out of state customer (Toronto), they were honest, fair, punctual and overall an amazing group. They were able to help with my older Lexus and identified issues promptly and accurately. Pat and Randy were especially knowledgeable and helpful.

Performed work on my Audi just perfect. They did the work on time exactly what they quoted and no surprises. Plus they were more competitive than the dealership. They know what they're doing . I'll go back again without a doubt. Good honest family run business.

I had my Honda pilot repaired here several times. They are honest, reliable, quick service, and use quality parts. An example of their Linda reputation, they told me about a warranty that was covered on my car. They could have said nothing and taken the additional revue, instead they were honest and up front. That is going above expectations for most service industries. Linda R.

Greg at Dundee automotive is amazing. We are from Michigan and our vehicle broke down. Even though he was about done for the day he still took the time to get us back in the road. Amazing service I would recommend them to anyone who needs help with their vehicle

Amazing service they explained everything to me and they were super quick. My throttle body had to be changed and I had the part already so they put it in for me and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg to do it. I have a Volkswagen and one of their service guys said he speacilizes in German cars so that was awesome as well. Gave me some peace of mind. Amazing place to go absolutely take your car here for repairs.

Dundee automotive provides the absolute best service of any repair shop I've used. Here's some of the things I especially like: -Patrick, the guy at the front desk and does a bunch of other stuff, is a great communicator. He is on the dime with updates cost estimates, etc, and he knows how to translate mechanic speak to people that are not mechanically inclined. He works very hard at making sure the customers are informed and aware of options and costs. - If there is work they think should be covered by the manufacturer, they have let me know this, and have given me the choice to take the car back to the dealer with no charge from Dundee Auto, or have them do the work at Dundee. They are candid with which dealerships have best reputations for service. - Today, I got a blast from the past. One of the mechanics came out with a bad part that he replaced on my daughters car yesterday to show it to me. The last time anyone did that with me was in 1979. I'm a gear head and love that kind of understanding . Plus, it never leaves you wondering about what stuff was actually replaced. - I had a broken tail light on a car that cost $350 new from the factory. I found an aftermarket part for $100 that was identical. It turned out the dealer would not replace the part with the aftermarket piece, so I went to do it myself. Well, I messed up on the install. I took it to Dundee and asked the owner Randy if he could figure a way to get that light in there. I am not quite sure how he did it, but it looks like new. - Charges... A lot of places charge labor based on "Book" rates for a particular job. Randy has only charged me for time spent working on my car ... and by the way, his team works a bit faster than the labor quoted in "book pricing" -This shop can do anything needed on the most complex of vehicles, and the experience is always "old school" friendly, honest, and face to face. I have had my cars in more than once for various minor repairs where I wasn't charged at all . Lastly, the work is done right the first time. I think Randy and his team believe in earning your business the old fashioned way. Honesty and transparency. Building a trusting relationship. I wish I would have known these guys when I owned BMWs ! Thank you Dundee Auto team. You have given me and my family new confidence for my auto repairs.

I still bring my car here for repairs even since I’ve moved to Wisconsin. They’re always kind, honest, and reliable. You can’t ask for better service from an auto shop.

Shop damaged my rocker panels on service van brought it right back to show them . Owner agreed to pay for damages . He requested a quote from a body shop and told me he will take care of it . Brought the owner an estimate from the shop 2 doors down from him and he still refused to pay . It’s sad that it had to come down to this review I had given him 18 months to fix the car in town . Also sad to say he could not come up with business insurance to provide me to file a claim . Not sure if they didn’t have it or would not give it but nevertheless they cost me 980.00 out of pocket to fix what they caused by improperly placing lift plates. Hopefully you guys find this review helpful!

I came to this shop after multiple recommendations from my husband who has been doing business with them since he could drive. Randy recommended that I don’t waste my money on a fix due to a multitude of other problems with my car and also explained how generally unsafe my car truly was. I bought a car from him and I’ve never felt more relieved. Randy is absolutely amazing. He’s honest, transparent and incredibly fair. He won’t waste your time and I certainly won’t waste my time going to any other mechanic again. Keep up the great work guys!!!(:

25,000 stars for this place! I have had front end issues on my SUV for a couple years and have had conflicting quotes/diagnosis's. Within one day of bringing in my vehicle it was all figured out, conveyed to me in a very informative manner, and handled. I felt confident in their expertise and very financially satisfied with their fair pricing. Will absolutely return!

They really helped me out of a jam, great service, fast, friendly and knowledgeable in foreign cars. Long story short, I tried to save money using a private mechanic to service the brakes on my VW Passat. That was a big mistake. So, I took it into Dundee Automotive and they helped me by: 1) Fixing all the problems the previous mechanic had created 2) Doing it at a very fair price and in less than one full day 3) Communicating with me on the issues they found and how they would fix them 4) Just being friendly and helpful which seems second nature to them They can work on all makes and models. If you have a VW or Honda or similar foreign designed vehicle, they can be a little difficult for some shops or mechanics, but Dundee Automotive can handle it. 10/10 guys, thanks for your help! Update 7/10/2024: Still 10/10. Took my VW here for oil change and I added some services at the last minute after checking the maintenance list by mileage for my car. So: Oil change, tire rotation, new cabin pollen filter, transmission fluid change and reset TPM. They were super-responsive and again kept me up to date. I actually upsold them rather than the other way around by asking for more services because I want my car to last well over 100K miles. Total cost for services was very fair and I did not leave feeling like they took advantage of me. If you are in the area, this should be the service shop to consider.

I was referred to Dundee Automotive by a friend, and they didn't disappoint. I was in need of both front and rear brakes and needed a quick turnaround. I spoke with Pat who coordinated everything expeditiously. I had my car back in half a day for an extremely fair price. These guys did great work, and I'll definitely use them again.

2019: These guys are outstanding. I've taken both my vehicles to them several times now. They have consistently given me great advice at amazing prices for all the work I've taken to them. They embody the trifecta: -Blue collar work ethic-White collar professionalism-Family level trust. 2018: I have been looking for a local automotive place that I could trust for a while. I usually take my car to my brother-in-law, who runs a shop about an hour away. When I called these guys I was very impressed with their customer service and knowledge. Pat did a great job of considering my price range concerns and managed a deal that beat what anyone else could do for the same job (including my brother-in-law). I have a couple of other items I want looked at and I plan to return. Thanks guys!

As a woman with two older cars, I find that trusting a mechanic is something I don't normally do. That is the exact opposite when it comes to Dundee Automotive! I was recommended to this shop from a friend, and now bring both of my cars out from the city to get serviced here. The service is always quick and reasonably priced, and I've never felt as if I was having work done that wasn't completely necessary. Greg is wonderful and takes the time to explain to me what is wrong and what he'll be doing in non-mechanic terms so that I'm able to understand what is happening. I'll never go anywhere else!

I've been coming to Randy, Greg & more recently Patrick since I was in high school (2005). My friend recommended me to them and ever since, I haven't gone anywhere else. My family and I still bring our cars here. I'll spare details for the sake of saving you from a chunky review. All you need to know is that you'll be treated professionally, won't get ripped off on pricing for parts or labor. They are incredibly accommodating to your needs, even if it means calling them for a 2nd opinion to have peace of mind. If you want your windows tinted, they know someone they trust. If you need body work, they know someone they trust. I say this because I've done this myself with my cars. 16 years says a lot so I thought it was worth taking the time. I can't believe I didn't write anything on here sooner! Thank you Dundee Auto!!!!

We tried Dundee auto after being disappointed by other auto shops. We brought my parents Lexus in for brakes as well as asking about a couple other problems they were having. This was our first time at Dundee Auto & will exclusively use them for all our cars in the future. Greg was so informative & knowledgeable, beyond thorough, HONEST, which was so refreshing , efficient, professional & kind. I will recommend them without an ounce of hesitation. So happy & relieved that they are a place you can trust.

Whether you've got old or new, domestic or import, the guys at Dundee Automotive have you covered. Not only are they skilled, knowledgeable, competitively priced (and on the more reasonable side) and honest, they always answer/respond to your call with a smile. They've been taking care of our old cars for a while now and today was just the best! My car died Saturday; suspected starter. I sent a text this morning and was replied to within minutes. They're busy but said I could have it towed and they'd squeeze it in if they had an opening. If the opening didn't happen, I'd be looking at Fri/Mon. They let me know the car arrived safely since I was at work and then by noon - the car was done!! Mechanics are everywhere. Goooood mechanics can be hard to come by. But a shop with excellent customer service is a needle in a haystack!! They are the whole package! Thanks for keeping our clunkers running, guys!!!

Since this pandemic, recession/depression started I have been reviewing companies you really shouldn't waste your money at for a multitude of reasons, but I feel the need to point out businesses that I've always kept close to the vest as a widely-held secret, but honestly, if you still drive, you can't afford to waste your money at some 200K mile mechanic chain today either. One of the first things I do when I am working at a new office is to find the auto repair shop that the owners and managers of where I'm working at trust with their car repairs, so when my office moved out to Kane County, that shop is Dundee Automotive. I originally had a Dodge Neon that I had bought years ago during a previous contract gig in Phoenix Arizona and I'm 100% certain Dundee Automotive kept that 'thing' running longer than any of the previous mechanics could ever dream of keeping mechanically sound, and it was their eye for catching things other mechanics would have missed that I felt secure with their service to give that car to my nephew on his 18th birthday. I've also bought a car from Dundee Automotive, and other customers will give them the heads up if they want to sell their car and as much as it sounds like a cliche, I bought a Subaru Forester that was one of Randy's niece's cars and drove it for about a year, and I was able to sell it for more than what I paid for it. Most recently in 2017, I picked up an Audi A4 Quattro (also from Arizona) and while I'll let the dealer do the oil changes and give me the free service inspections, I leave it to Randy and his ace mechanics to do whatever service is needed as its considerably less expensive than the Audi dealer. If you've my read reviews on Google and Yelp, you would know I drive this Audi A LOT around the Midwest, to conferences, conventions, client sites, etc, and (knock on wood) for German engineering, (knock on wood, again) to Dundee Automotive for keeping it running like it was new. So the next time your check engine light goes off, give Randy and the mechanics at Dundee Automotive a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
