Brought my car in for me shocks and struts, they found a few other issues like timing belt and leak. They got the car in and fixed in a good timely manner. They dropped me off at work and then came and picked me up. The Staff was great and explained everything done to the car, explaining to you what is or was wrong with the vehicle. I will come here again. Look I'm from Alabama and work up here in Michigan so I need a vehicle that going to run great. I trust the people here to keep me car running. Also the cost was very reasonable.

I highly recommend coming here for your automotive needs. I recently got a new used car and had them do an oil change and go over the vehicle to make sure everything else looked good. I was happy to find out all was good and done at a very reasonable price. Drew took the time to explain what they looked over without me even having to ask. Plus they send you a text with a picture of your vehicle and a full report. They made me feel very comfortable and the appointment ran on time. As I waited in their waiting room I watched Drew and Ethan interact with a couple different elderly people as well. They were both so kind and patient with all of their questions and concerns. It makes my heart happy to see there are still good companies that you can trust because they listen and go the extra mile to make sure their customers leave happy.

I feel so lucky to have found Dykstra’s Auto in Hudsonville! I don’t often require car care as my husband is able to do most of our repairs. This also can make it difficult to find a trusted garage when he gets in a time pinch or feels the job is beyond him. This may not be longer be an issue now that we’ve experienced the amazing professional service at Dykstra’s Auto. I needed a part replaced in my drive shaft this summer, but in a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster. I mention this because it can be difficult to find shops willing to work on it. My car is “made by” Chrysler, but completely manufactured at the Mercedes factory in Germany and shipped to the States. I wanted it done before heading to the Dream Cruise in August but my husband ran short on time. Dykstra’s was able to make sure our diagnosis was correct, replace the part and get me on the road to Detroit in just a couple of days! I was very pleased with their service as well as concern and care for my car while they had it. After flying 🙃 to Detroit and back, and cruising Woodward for several days - I heard a rattle. I asked if I could swing by again and Dykstra’s was more than willing to check it out for me! Nothing they did - loose exhaust bracket, but I was again pleased with their care and concern and appreciated their thoughtful explanation. In both encounters I was not only pleased with their service but also that they addressed the issues with me as someone who understands her vehicles and not just the wife dropping off a car~ I’ve already recommended them to several people and will continue to do that as well as take our cars there as needed. 100% recommendation from a “car” household!

My last visit was for an oil change and a tire rotation. On arrival my car was taken in to begin the work. I sat in a comfortable chair enjoying a cup of coffee while my car was being attended. I brought my vehicle in for a coolant leak that they were unable to locate, but I was still charged for the diagnostic time. A few months later, when the leak worsened, they identified a failed part and replaced it. Shortly after, the leak continued. They replaced the same part again under warranty. About a month later, I discovered the vehicle was still leaking coolant. This time I was told the radiator was the issue and that it would require additional repair costs. When I expressed concern that the original source of the leak may not have been properly identified from the beginning, I was told by John that I “obviously have a trust issue with their integrity” and that they didn’t want to do the work anyway if that was the case. I understand that some vehicles — especially certain Land Rover models — are known for developing multiple coolant leaks. However, I would have appreciated clearer communication about that possibility from the start, along with a more professional response when I raised reasonable concerns. Based on this experience, I am disappointed in both the diagnostic process and the customer service.

I like being able to schedule online. Providing a vehicle report is also helpful, with issues that need to be resolved vs. recommendations that could be done (or not, they leave it up to you). Mechanics cost a lot of money, but when you find someone you can trust with honest, objective, and low-pressure information about your vehicle, that is more valuable than the cheapest option. Having gone there for many years, they know me and my vehicles which is also nice. Highly recommend!
