Called and asked the man a simple question. Will you charge me up to a certain amount for looking at my truck? I said it could take hours or maybe over a day to look through the transmission and most shops will charge like an hour or so max and call you and let you know if they found a problem or if they could not. I told him I can’t get a call and say my bill is $1000 cause they couldn’t find a problem and just kept looking.I asked the question and got the most condescending “HUUUUHHH???” I’ve ever heard. He couldn’t explain or ask me what I meant he was very unprofessional and the company can thank whoever was on the phone or front counter on November 30th at 11:30 cause that company lost my money just for that they will not get my business or referral ever. I hope corporate listens and yanks that guy off anything that has to do with customer service cause he doesn’t have it.

Recently went in for a transmission rebuild on my car. Took them a long time and wasn’t close the estimate they quoted me for. A week later I got a transmission code for a solenoid so I brought it back in to be replaced. They checked everything but says it might not have anything to do with the transmission. I would not recommend this place we will see how long this transmission lasts. Update...... the transmission lasted two months before it went out again.

This is the only place to go for car repairs! Andrew and his staff are the most reliable and honest place I know!

Avoid this place like the plague. Immoral business practices and awful customer service. When the transmission in our vehicle failed we took it to a place near where it broke down and were quoted $3500 for a rebuild. We called around and spoke with Ed’s mechanic who said he’s been doing this for 42 years and was confident it would be closer to 2500-3000 and take ~3 days. This was on a Monday, so we had it towed there that afternoon. I asked for a call when they removed it to get a firm quote on the work rather than a speculative quote. Then David started answering my calls. By Friday I still hadn’t received a call so I called them and was told the transmission was out of the car but no work done yet. I was told probably ready for pickup on Tuesday. So much for 3 days but oh well, life goes on. Tuesday my wife made arrangements to work from home so she could walk to the shop and pick the car up when it was done. Tuesday afternoon rolls around and no call from the shop, as usual. I call and am told it won’t be ready but probably Wednesday morning. I ask about the quote and David tells me he never put one together assuming I just wanted it fixed no matter the price. I’ve never encountered this with a automotive shop before, you should always be able to approve or question the quote. Wednesday morning no call, I call and it’s not ready. Wednesday afternoon I call and still not ready, this time I spoke with Matt who was apologetic and claimed they were backed up and hopefully Thursday. Thursday morning I get a call from them for the very first time, it’s David telling me they need to do one last thing then it’ll be ready by end of day. I ask for the final price and he still hasn’t put together my quote but says he’ll call back. When he calls back he tells me it’ll be $3088 before tax and fluids. I tell him that’s not an out the door price that any sane person would accept and request the final tally. He then tells me it’ll cost $3478 all total. I said I was told in the beginning that the estimate was 2500-3000, and David said it was the $3000 amount before the taxes and fluids. My jaw dropped at the ridiculousness of this logic. That afternoon I called to pay by card over the phone as we wouldn’t be able to arrive before they closed in order to pick the car up. That’s when David tells me it’s another 2% of the total bill to pay by card, so another ~$70. I was livid but needed the car. The next day I call to ask about them realigning the steering wheel as it was now several degrees off. David tells me he can farm the job out but they won’t pay for it. A new alignment was never mentioned as part of the total bill or mentioned as an expectation. David is the worst sort of auto shop owner/operator. He doesn’t communicate proactively, he’s smug when he does, and he lies by omission. Never again. He also had the car for 8 days to perform a job we were told would take 3.

I took my personal vehicle in to Ed’s, after I heard my car making a clicking sound. J.B treated me with respect throughout the whole process and were able to fit me in their busy schedule. Oh did I mention J.B took a look at it for me, recommend a shop that could help my situation, at NO COST!!!! Truly grateful to have come across this plan and will be recommending to my family & friends!

They rebuilt my transmission for my Dodge Ram 3500 and did an excellent job. Their pricing was very fair and quality of work was excellent. They finished my truck within a week and communicated with updates.

I live 45 miles away, but I will always bring my vehicle here. Even if I have to tow it. The first time I went to Ed’s transmission was because I had gone to another mechanic and I had a feeling that they messed up. Ed’s checked it and told me exactly what was wrong with it and did not charge to fix the same problem twice. So that I could take it back to the mechanic that broke it and have them fix it correctly. I love the fact that they were so helpful and they weren’t trying to just come after me for more money. And I have never gone anywhere else. ( J.B and David rock !!)

The guys at the shop are great. I thought I might be having transmission problem when my OD light was flashing and would engage in either mode. The guy who handles the front desk and quotes etc narrowed it down to electrical...... he was also able to refer me to an electrical mechanic just up the road. I've also had my transmission serviced there and they're a great group of guys who know what they're doing. I'd definitely recommend them for for cars transmission issues or serving.

JB worked with us on our son's car. Great old fashion service. JB took the time to fully explain what was going on, gave us time to weigh our options and was such a kind gracious guy to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Thank you

Had my Jeep transmission blow, Called them on Tuesday and was greeted by JB. From start to finish this by far the best experience I had with a auto shop. Professional and very knowledgeable. From Start to finish the turn around time was great. Was able to pick up my transmission up 2 days after drop off. They went above and beyond and gave detail instructions on what do when reinstalling my transmission. 5/5 would recommend them to anybody looking for transmission work. They definitely take pride in their work.

I took my car here after my alternator failed. They were able to replace the alternator on the same day. Phone communication was good and price was around what I expected.

Very nice crew! I felt confident and comfortable leaving my car in their hands. They were very knowledgeable. They quickly pinpointed the problem! I had guessed the issue wrong, and it was not as costly as I had assumed it would be! This crew gave me the impression of possessing an integrity that you don't commonly find in mechanics today! I would recommend them to a friend! The crew working here gave me that feel of a local, friendly neighborhood shop back in a different time. Mechanics that make a point to care about their clients. Like I am dropping my car off to a favorite unce, a much younger sibling to a parent, (of course). They give off a vibe of familiarity that leaves you with anything but regret. You are left with this feeling that you have brought your vehicle to a good place.

Ed’s Transmission is the best. They are incredibly honest. They have fixed my Jeep four times now. The last time the mechanic remembered they had replaced my thermostat less than a year ago so it was a faulty part. They didn’t charge me for the repair. What a blessing. They didn’t have to tell that and could have charged me but they didn’t. Hands down the best place to take your vehicle for any repairs.

Many reviews have echoed this sentiment, and unfortunately, my experience was no different. I recommend avoiding this establishment due to poor customer service and unnecessarily complicated procedures. I simply needed a quick estimate for a bumper repair but was told I would need to leave my car for half a day. Moreover, the interaction with the owner was particularly disheartening; he was unhelpful, rude, and made racially insensitive remarks about my English. This behavior is unacceptable, sketchy and given this experience, I would not feel comfortable leaving my car here under any circumstances.

My 2021 Chevy pickup had severe transmission overheating while towing my trailer on vacation. I tried an auto shop in Edmonds but they were so booked that they referred me to Ed’s. They were quite busy already but David (the owner) said to bring the truck in and leave it until they could take a look at it. They could have taken advantage of our situation and charged us just about anything in order to get us back up and running to finish our vacation. He kept the truck overnight and called the next day to report that the truck was ready for us. He found the problem and replaced a bad valve. The $500 repair was well worth it, especially since he got us in and out, so that our vacation could be completed as planned. The truck performed as expected all the way back home (1250 miles) pulling the trailer! Thank you David!!
