I moved to this area in Clairemont about a year and a half ago and I’ve always struggled to find a great place for oil changes. Alfredo Valdez at Evan’s tire was not only friendly and helpful but fast and reasonable as well. They took great care of my car, a Volkswagen Atlas, and were friendly with my dog too 🐕 I have found my new neighborhood spot!

I've been to this location a couple times now and I just want to say they really take care of you here. Alfredo the manager has gone beyond the norm to help me both times. I really appreciate the effort he makes on my behalf.

Guys are great but the service is slow. An oil change that competitors can do in 15 minutes while you wait in the car took two hours WITH an appointment.

They Cracked my wheel during their tire mounting process (accident? Maybe?) But manager Alfredo did not take accountability. Warning ⚠️ very long read about Evan's Tire on Convoy On Saturday morning 6/28 just before 11 am, I brought my vehicle to Evan’s Tire at the Convoy location. Alfredo, the manager, checked me in. I explained that my right rear tire had been patched a month prior and might need to be replaced. After an inspection, I was informed that both rear tires were worn and should be replace or all four if I wanted to upgrade. I opted to replace just the two rear tires. The service was completed and I was checked out at around 12:35 pm Alfredo personally drove my car from the service bay to the front of the store, handed me my keys, and I left. Immediately, the tire pressure monitor showed alerts for both rear tires which I’ve seen reset after a short drive. However, after driving less than five miles home to Mission Valley, the alert for the left rear tire persisted. Later that evening, around 7:30pm, I found that the left rear tire was completely flat while parked in my garage. I used my portable air pump to reinflate it and took photos. Since Evan’s Tire was already closed (and closed all day Sunday), I returned first thing Monday morning, June 30. Alfredo was there again, and I explained that the rear left tire wasn’t holding air and requested a new tire, not a repair. He asked the technician who had installed the tires to inspect it. The technician removed the wheel and didn’t find any nails or punctures. He then used a bubble test with solvent, which revealed a leak caused by a crack inside the wheel. He pointed this out to me and claimed he had not noticed the crack when installing the tires, or he wouldn’t have mounted them. I remained polite and asked, “What do we do now?” The technician said to go get the wheel welded at American Factory Wheel in Santee. The crack he identified is in the area where the tire is compressed during the mounting process (photos available). I visited a few wheel repair shops, and was consistently told that the crack appeared fresh and likely happened during the tire mounting process. Ultimately, I went to American Factory Wheel, where they had a matching wheel in stock and replaced it for $377.14. I called Alfredo to explain what happened and informed him that I had the damaged wheel in my trunk and could bring the receipt. He asked why I didn’t just have it welded, and I responded that I chose the safer, more permanent solution. I politely asked for reimbursement for the cost of the replacement wheel. Instead of taking accountability, Alfredo became defensive. The conversation unfortunately escalated and we both hung up. Moments later, he called back and had his technician on the line. Again, the discussion turned confrontational. Alfredo falsely accused me of trying to get a refund for the new tires which I corrected. I was only asking for reimbursement of the wheel that was damaged during installation. Alfredo ultimately refused, stating, “No, we don’t do that,” and ended the call. I am waiting to hear from the corporate office before making any updates to what I hope is a satisfactory resolution or edits to ensure NO one in my sphere does business with this organization at any level.

Got 4 new tires and low pressure light came on after a week, could not check tire pressure on my own as caps were not reinstalled properly, went to shop and tire pressure was from 7lbs over to 7lbs lower and in between, air adjustes.but didn't get tore checked for perforation, got sent home with Jack and power gun under car, returned a week later for low pressure tire light again, tire was punctured, got it fixed and was told on to leave but no car keys provided until requested, tried reaching out to corporate and was only able to reach a bot. Don't go here, not safe

Evan’s Tires is super friendly, kind, and informative. I needed a tire replaced right before Thanksgiving, and even though we had to wait for the new tire to arrive after the holiday, they kept me in the loop the whole time. Once it came in, they got me in and out quickly. Highly recommend this place

I can't say enough about the great service and quality of personnel at this tire shop. A couple months after purchasing our minivan from the dealership, the rear passenger tire became flat. I called the shop and Alfredo quickly scheduled an appointment for me to bring the vehicle in for an inspection. After inspection, it was determined that the valve stem needed to be replaced, which they then replaced in a matter of minutes. Thanks, guys, for taking care of my vehicle!

Went to discount tires to get a flat tire repaired, they said they can't repair plugged damages. (Without even looking at the plug) and kept trying to sell me on a new tire. Even though this is repairable any only 20k miles. Took it to Evans tires. Donte (super nice) helped me patch it up in less than 15 mins without trying to upset me.

Great experience at Evan’s Tires. I originally bought my tires at a different location, brought my car in with a leak and they honored the warranty with no hassle. Came in first thing Monday morning, no wait, super nice people, and I was back on the road quickly. Would definitely recommend Evan’s.

First time at this Evans shop. Had issues with a previous store and found what I wanted here. Good parking, clean waiting room and restroom. Had a set of tires installed and they replaced a serpentine belt under warranty. Happy with my experience and will use this Evans shop for future automotive repair.

I can only hope that other Evan's Tires live up to the experiences I have had with the one on Convoy Street. I have now taken 3 different cars here over the past few years, and every visit I have had has been great. They are consistently friendly, thorough, and incredibly efficient, and they've always had great deals on service. Nothing but good things to say about these guys!

Admittedly, I was scheduled for a tire replacement down the street but they were dragging and left us waiting 20 min to even check us in. No time for that - called Evan’s and Lovell said he’d get us in and out. Top customer interaction from Lovell, efficient, and bathroom was extra clean ✨ Good vibes and music coming from the garage. They’ve got a skilled team working out here. Highly recommended 🛞

Very friendly and fast. Very trustworthy. They did an enormous amount of work done in a timely manner. They show you photos of the parts that need work. I'm very happy with the work done. Price is very reasonable and cheaper than other quotes. Sebastian helped me out. Very friendly and no bs. I feel they were very honest with the work that needed to be done after I got some garbage reccomendations from another mechanic . I wish I went here first. 5 stars 🌟

All okay?. No! Had my oil changed and cooling system flushed. Two weeks ago, today a big puddle on my driveway. Clean oil. My car has never leaked a single drop but AC run off water! My HOA is up my hind to fine me for an oil spill. Took it back to Evans. Manager tried to up-sell me! Bro, it wasn't my water pump. I took my car in on my way home after work to my Vietnamese guy, they did a pressure test on my cooling system all is good. They did check for other leaks like cover gaskets, transmission is good no leaks and it's on the opposite side from where oil is leaking, and power steering all was good, for 3 redbulls from ampm. Pinpoint to an oil leaking from the drain plug. When I got my last oil change at Evans Tires, they didn't replace a rubber oil ring on the drain plug and instead, put silicone around the plug. That's what was leaking, fresh clean oil. I went back to the Evans, the manager was telling me that its my head gasket is leaking, probably my power steering, maybe my transmission oil. I had him walk through it with a flash light just to confirm that nothing but the oil drain plug was leaking. Still, they refused to replace the rubber oil ring and just washed everything down with 4 cans of blake cleaner and said to keep an eye on it. Dude was fighting me all the way! Evens tires are crooked. Don't go there! Great price for half the job done
