Honest-1 Autocare did a great job on my 2006 Toyota 4-Runner's 100K mile service. It was easy to get an appointment, and being that the auto service is just up the street from where I live, it was super convenient. They did a diagnostic on my 2006 4-Runner, and gave me a few items that needed addressing which I immediately took care of. Now I feel like my 4-Runner can go at least an additional 100k, as long as I keep getting it serviced. John, the owner, was great and I plan on taking my car there for all future service.

Outstanding customer service, extremely clean facility. They completed the maintenance on my Lexus in a very timely manner. The prices are beyond reasonable. My neighbor started going there many many years ago and she highly recommended them. Even my brakes feel better after the pads were installed by someone else. This will be my go to mechanic from now on.

Left several messages on phone numbers listed on the internet with no response or return calls. I live next door and thought I would give your establishment a try. Registered on line and received several text messages confirming my appointment. When I checked in computers were down. Once checked in received text message informing me I would get updates. Never received one and 4 hours later walked over and found no one to assist me. Waited 15 minutes until someone reappeared at the front desk, apologized for the wait and lack of response. Not sure if I will go back again!

This was my first visit to Honest Auto in San Carlos and the first thing I noticed before going into the office was how clean & organized the auto repair bays were. Meeting John the owner was pleasant and he presented a no pressure professional demeanor. The repair to my vehicle was of moderate difficulty and completed in a few hours. Roberto the tech who worked on my vehicle did a very clean job and noted a couple of areas for me to keep an eye on. Needless to say I will return to Honest Auto should the need arise. My elderly mother went into Honest-1 (the name couldn’t be more ironic) just for an oil change. Instead, she was handed a “Vehicle Health Inspection” claiming she urgently needed several parts replaced—a bill totaling nearly $900. On the list? A “dirty” air filter, a “dying” battery, and “worn out” spark plugs. Thankfully, my husband took her car to our trusted local mechanic. The verdict? The air filter “looked brand new,” and the battery is “nowhere near needing replacement.” This shop flat-out tried to scam an elderly woman. Shame on this company for preying on people’s trust.

I went to Honest 1 Auto Care with a broken passenger mirror. At first they seemed squared away. Told me when the replacement part would be ready, gave me a quote. I show up at the appropriate time, and after thirty minutes they come tell me that 'the warehouse' sent the wrong part. They would have to reorder, and they would call me the next day when the new part comes in, likely in the early afternoon. This is where it gets super shady. Having not been called by 3pm, I call them and can't get an answer. I'm nearby. I drive over. Guy says "Oh the part just came in 15 minutes ago." I figure he is lying to excuse the lack of a call. I tell him it's already a little late in the day to start the work. He swears itll be done in 45 minutes. I'm already giving this place too many chances, so I set my alarm for 50 minutes. Ding Ding. My car is sitting in the back with no mirror on it, and times up. I tell the manager to put the old mirror on and give me my car. He tells me that the new mirror arrived 2 minutes prior and he had driven 50 minutes to go get it. Which totally doesn't match up with what the first guy had said. I even asked him if the 1st guy lied, he said he did. These people wasted my time, they lied to me, and in hindsight their quote was ridiculous. I can't believe this type of place is still in operation. I will never give them my business and will actively dissuade anyone from using their services. Having seen the companies response to this review I am not surprised they failed to take any responsibility, and the charlatan also makes no reference to the lies told to my face. No one wants to trust liars with their car. Despite my requests I still receive their mailer. Such a waste. Community members often share with me their similar stories of horror in relation to this garage of ill repute. Shame.

I stumbled into this repair facility and couldn't be happier! A mobile replaced my alternator a day before only to be left stranded near Honest1, they quickly diagnosed my vehicle and found the culprit, a damaged alternator wiring, they repaired the wiring, replace some fuses and sent me on my way! All within a couple of hours. The staff is super attentive and explained everything in detail! Very reasonably and Honest priced! I actually paid more for the alternator replacement that I did not need than the actual correct repair at Honest1. I definitely will be servicing my vehicle here from now! Thanks To Roman and his staff 👍🏼

Excellent service and very honest! I had been taking my Honda to the dealer and I feel like they were trying to make me think my car was a lemon so they could buy it back and sell me a new one. The lounge is Super Comfortable and Sparkling Clean, as is the Restroom. They keep their promises. The work is A+. Their prices are competitive.
