I really feel disappointed in general by how difficult it is to find a trustworthy mechanic. I brought my Chevy Express into this shop a couple of weeks ago because of a ticking sound my vehicle was making along with a check engine light. They squeezed me in (which I did appreciate) but proceeded to diagnose my problem using "sparkles" in my oil to support that there is metal in my oil meaning I would need to replace or rebuild my engine all together. They charged me 300$ to change my oil, and essentially put a bandaid on the problem. It was only once I had paid that the owner expressed "I'm a ford guy, not a chevy guy", which I found funny, insinuating there may be some insecurity around is diagnosis that he did not want to be transparent about. I think what has moved me the most is I have talked to other mechanics who said this ticking noise was not showing signs that it required an engine replacement (aka the ticking was dependent on weather, it wasn't getting louder over time, etc.). Additionally, a mechanic I met on my travels further explained to me how the "sparkles in oil" gig is a scam completely. This is because there is a metal piece, a magnet, actually, at the bottom of the oil pan. this magnet actually magnetizes to all of the metal that might be in the oil. This is what I should have been shown, if there in fact was a problem related to metal in my oil, as a result of severe bottom half engine issues. I was further told from another mechanic that metal is normal in oil from wear and tear, but that is what the magnet is put in place for, it sucks all the metal right to that point, so if there are huge chunks on that, that is where the issue is. Basically "little sparkly pieces" in oil is not metal because it is not magnetized. Overall watch out, especially if you are a woman in general, this shop may take advantage. He filled my tires at the end of the appointment honestly now looking back probably just to come off nice, but now I see it was another money grab.

It just can't get much better than Aaron and his company. RVing our way thru SoCal, had a check engine light come on. Took it to the dealer first, they wanted $2K+. Found these guys after that and went for a 2nd opinion. SO GLAD! Decided some of the dealer repairs were not necessary, those that were, were done with parts that were either half the cost of the dealers (same part) OR slightly lower cost and BETTER than OEM part - and HALF the labor rate. Aaron got me in quickly, got to work on the truck when he said he would. Got me out quickly and as promised. Aaron is as honest as the day is long. Gives you all the facts, no pressure, you decide what you want to do and what the various consequences may be. You're in good hands. Wish I was a local so I could continue to use him!

Great Guys, affordable rates! Met me very short notice on a Sunday Morning with a broke down Subaru. My Harmonic balance came loose on crankshaft and threw both belts, as well as damaged the shaft. I have had multiple trucks worked on by Aaron and his crew. Stellar work AND communication every time. I sent him a disaster of a 6.0 that I had started working on them couldn’t continue. He took over, dealt with the incomplete stage the repair was in, and did all the work perfectly. I then had a break down on the highway ina different vehicle and called him from the side of the road and explained what happened and he immediately said bring it in and I’ll look at it. Was able to identify the issue later that day after he stayed late after closing to receive the vehicle from the flatbed. Great, honesty shop. Couldn’t be happier.

Our delivery truck broke down on the side of the freeway due to a belt that had broken that had to do with the steering mechanism. We are located in Los Angeles and our crew is not familiar with repair places in the area so we had no idea who to call. We went on line to search for places and found Aaron at La Jolla Mobile Auto and Truck Repair. Even though he didn't pick up, I left a message anyway even though we were in big hurry to try and get this fixed or we would have had to send another truck to pick up our crew. Aaron called back in minutes. I told him the situation and he was very professional and explained that he was a service tech for Ford and was very experienced repairing the E350 series. He was out in minutes and managed to get the guys off the freeway so he could work safely. Told the guys he would be back in 45 minutes after heading to Ford for OEM parts. He was back in a flash and fixed the parts and topped off the fluids that had leaked because the water pump was not working due to the broken belt. The guys just got back. OMG! I totally wouldn't have believed all these positive reviews unless I gave Aaron and his team a try myself and experienced his outstanding mobile repair service personally! After experiencing his service today, it was like moving from the stone age of auto repair to the modern age! I can't believe it took me so long to experience the positive difference! Here is my story: 1:47pm Yesterday I spoke with Aaron about my water pump & thermostat needing to be replaced in my Navigator. Local ford dealer wanted to replace everything in the cooling system & when reduced to just water pump & thermostat, still HUGE $$ desired and they told me 2 days in the shop without my vehicle. 1:53pm Yesterday Aaron had texted me an estimate that was much less expensive then the dealer & he would have one of his guys do my fix in the comfort and ease of my own driveway! About 2:50pm Yesterday, I confirmed the job and price, Aaron confirmed one of his guys with an assistant would be at my house at 8:30am the following morning. He told me it should take 2-3 hours to complete. (Keep in mind, the dealer wanted to have my car for 2 days!) 8:30am Today, Josh and Jason show up at my house with all Motorcraft original manufacture parts. 11:30am Today, Josh and Jason complete my water pump, thermostat & replace my coolant. Josh was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through the repair because I was interested and wanted to know how the vehicle worked. Jason was a great assistant. Aaron this morning even sent me a photo of the new water pump via text prior to Josh's and Jason's visit. I know after having this experience, I will always be calling La Jolla Auto & Truck Repair when I need a vehicle fixed. They are comparable with local shops in cost, extremely knowledgeable, only fix what is needed & saved me a ton of time vs. bringing to the local dealer. I highly recommend this company, Aaron, Josh and Jason!

Aaron is AMAZING!!!! I had been to a couple of places that claimed I needed new struts, I paid one person to fix it and the noise continued. It was only until I googled some places and saw all of Aaron’s excellent reviews that I decided to give him a shot. I was able to get my car towed to him (so he could do a diagnostic on it that same day) and he called within hours letting me know the problem. He fixed it the next day for me but let me know my car was now making an even louder noise (me still thinking it’s my struts). He realized it was my motor mount and was able to order the part and get it fixed the next day. Out of 3 people (and losing $100’s of dollars) telling me I need new struts, Aaron was the only one that figured out what the problem actually was (my motor mount and not my struts). His prices are are fair and you definitely get what you pay for (I learned the hard way multiple times before coming to Aaron). I will be back to him for all of my car needs!! He is honest and actually knows what he is doing!!! Thanks so much!!!

What a disappointing service these guys provided. Not only did they miss the original appointment date. But we explicitly stated one of our work trucks had electrical problems. Over emphasized it had electrical problems and needed someone that knew diesel engines and was good with electrical. We told him a number of times it was a Dodge 5500. After showing up at our facility Aaron tells me obviously it's electrical. He didn't have the parts needed to replace battery terminals for the diesel truck we told him we had. I asked him to clean throttle body as well. Aaron said if we wanted it repaired we would need to take it to his shop for 3-4 hours of work. I was just charged $170 for 30 minutes of effort in which they replaced a battery I already had in stock and dumped some coolant into the engine. Great I got some good advice, but it was the to fix the problems, I already told him I had. That's why I called him.

Most importantly, Aaron is a stand up guy and an honest mechanic. Hard to find these days. I brought him my duramax and he had 2 out of 3 things fixed for just a couple bucks. He couldn’t get my transfer case working, likely due to not having Chevy-specific programming (techII), but he spent a few hours of time diagnosing it that he did not charge me for. He also didn’t just throw parts at it like the dealership mechanics like to do. If I had a Ford, Aaron would be my sole mechanic. Clear communication and expectations.

Aaron provided exceptional service at a very fair price. We arrived from Florida with an overheating chevy Duramax that needed urgent attention and a regular service maintenance. He answered the phone on a Sunday and scheduled us first thing on the following day after our arrival. He had already received all the parts when we showed up at 8:00am. My son repaired the wheel hub and bearing on Jan. 2023. For unknown reason it come out the noisy sound when press brake. I went to other store and need to install the new one since it is damaged. Aaron is an absolutely incredible human and mechanic. We blew a high pressure oil line on our 2003 E450 after our show in San Diego. We were stuck and feeling super down until I found him. He treated us amazingly and once we got the parts he had us back on the road in 5 hours. This is a very difficult job to do on a E450! He made it possible for us to make our show in New Orleans. Fixed my issue and then some! Aaron was friendly, explained everything thoroughly, I did not feel oversold on anything, and cost was reasonable. Initially when I left I still had a small concern, so I called and Aaron had me bring it back next day.
