My husband and I are new to Louisville. My brake light came on about a week after we moved. My car had 70,000 miles on it and the brakes had never been replaced, so I was looking for an honest, affordable place to check my brakes. Based on reviews on other sites, I decided to go to Fern Creek Auto & Truck Repair. I'm so glad I found this gem! The man at the front desk offered to take me home for a few hours so I wouldn't have to sit in their waiting room. I live 20 minutes from the repair place, but he insisted. Such a friendly and reasonably priced place!

Paid way less for brakes & service at Fern Creek Auto than the quoted price at other places! Super friendly! I was even given a ride home and picked up so I wouldn't have to wait around the shop while my car was being serviced. Will definitely be taking my car there for now on!

My husband was referred to this auto shop by a neighbor when we moved to this area over a year ago, and he has been routinely pleased with the great service, honesty and work done on our cars. They are very reasonably priced, too. In fact, they didnt even charge for a couple of evaluations performed on an older truck we had when they either couldn't fix it or we desired to wait until a later time for a repair. If you're looking for a great place for auto service, I would highly recommend Fern Creek Auto Repair!!

Called for a quote on my suv, best one by far! Dropped it off on Sunday (key box) thinking at best 3 day wait...nope! Monday and done!!! My suv drives the best it has and at a very good price!!! They even put air in my tires ( it the little stuff I love) my new shop 100% (injector replace, tune up and gaskets)

Quality service! Dave never does more than he has to and is always upfront about what has to be done and what might wait until next visit. I know when I leave, my car is road worthy and safe for my children. He's always busy but is able to work us into the schedule within a few days typically. I appreciate that the shop is good at keeping in touch with repairs, diagnostics and wait times. I don't have to worry about not hearing from anyone for days on end. Great shop with great staff. My whole family trusts Dave with our vehicles.

Had a noise coming from wheel area of car . Had it serviced somewhere else but stopped in for a quick safety check . They were honest about when they could get to vehicle and once checked out noticed some irregularities with tire mounting from other garage. Very impressed with them wanting to help .

So, I used to recommend this place a lot. However, a couple of years ago I took my car in to get the brakes fixed and a sensor reset. Picked it up the sensor was reset and I was told everything was fine when they drove it, paid the bill and left. Got in the car and the first time I put on the brakes... The awful grinding sound was still there. They only changed one set of brakes. Immediately took it back in. The owner of the shop is amazing apologized and had his employee take me home after he said "oh I didn't know I needed to check all the brakes" to which I asked "so the grinding sound sounded safe to you when you drove it???" I refrained from changing my review because he fixed the issue and didn't charge me labor, and he had been so helpful and honest prior times. Fast forward to last week. We take my husband's SUV in. "We need a tune up, breaks changed, it stalled on us at a red light and it's been rumbling, taking it on a road trip so we need it to run smoothly and thoroughly checked. " First I made an appointment and they couldn't find us in their books. They still got us in so ok. They called us the next day ... "It's ready" I ask "ok so spark plugs are good? battery is good? It's not rumbling or anything? Did you find anything wrong?" "No we changed the brakes the rotors and fixed the wheel bearing and you're good to go" (all cleared through us prior and asked THEN as well if everything else was checked and to please be certain as the 6month old is coming with us we can't break down) great! Pick it up runs decent something still seemed off but I'm no car expert I just have Google 🤷🏽‍♀️. Next day get in the SUV and it's rumbling WORSE than it was when we took it in. Over it, we booked an appointment with a different auto shop. Still keeping it two stars because I like the owner and if he works on your car it's fine. But his employees obviously need some help.

This place does quality work at a reasonable price (just take your vehicle somewhere else and get a quote and compare, you'll see!). I'd recommend them 100% of the time to anyone needing car/truck repair. If you're not in the Fern Creek area, the quality of work and honesty are worth the extra miles!

I have came here for all my needs. They do honest work and never over charge. I keep all my receipts and never had anything change on me. They use good oil and quality parts. When I bought my car I noticed I needed to get my hub bearings replaced and called around for prices. My friend recommended this place to me so I called them last. It so happened that they gave the best price out of the 5 other places I called in the fern creek area. You will likely have to make an appointment and drop it off earlier in the day if able and they will call you when it’s done and ready to be picked up. I drive a 2011 Honda Civic and they keep it running good. Every time they changed it (I do it now) they looked to see if tires need rotating, check air filters and brakes as well. They are thorough. I can easily recommend this place.

We have used Fern Creek Auto for many years now and they have always been the best for their pricing and quality of work. A recent purchase of a used car for our son had us worried when it started stuttering while driving. After a diagnostic and a simple repair we are back on the road. Highly recommend David and his team as a local shop you can count on. I have an update from 06/14/24-Wow, I never want to replace my original review so I am adding it this way-Fern Creek Auto came through for us yet again by helping with a stuck wheel bearing on our Dodge Journey right after I called them in a bind because we needed it pressed out. Anyone who asks where I recommend I send them here because you’re just not going to find their kind of service/value in a lot of places.

They did not put wheel strut on properly and i cant get in until next tuesday. I feel unsafe driving and don’t think I’m going to last I am disappointed They were able to get me in sooner to fix the issue causing shaky ride and told me to change bent wheel I feel satisfied thanks

After checking out my car they did not call me with a quote on the repairs, but went ahead and addressed the issues. I was concerned when I went to settle the bill. However the price on the work was fare, and the work they did was excellent. I recommend them 100%. They are the best.

I have been taking vehicles to Fern Creek for 17 years. I was introduced to them by my father-in-law who's been taking vehicles there for much much longer. In that time. I have had nothing but stellar service. Consistently over the years they have handled everything I took to them with incredible reliability and affordability. I've even moved all of our work fleet maintenance to them even though we have to drive to Fern Creek all the way from downtown. If there were 10 Stars I'd be giving them a 10 out of 10.
