Had Firestone replace my alternator back in October for $1100. I brought it back because something wasn’t right with it (there was a vibrating sound). They checked out it and told me it was fine. If you see my picture, they had to see the bolt was out or just completely glossed over and proceeded by recommend an alignment.

Our alternator went out on us as we arrived in Huntsville on a road trip. I was really concerned we wouldn't be able to get the car fixed until Monday. I went to Firestone to have my tires rotated and brakes checked. They pressured me into additional work, costing thousands of dollars. In the end, they rotated my tires and replaced my rear brake pads, things that needed to be done. They wanted to replace my rack and pinion assembly, saying that it was leaking fluid. However, my fluid reservoir is still full - the fluid has never gone down - no fluid has ever been added! There is no fluid on my carport floor or driveway! There are several other services that they said I needed, each of which I've independently checked out as being unnecessary.

I see why they have a 4.1 already. Ask for help with a simple tire change and they don't even look at it for almost an hour when I just asked if they could do it quick. If youre in a rush to get something done dont bother coming here. I didnt even get the service done I had to run over to pep boys and they got me out within 30 mins

Great people and great service. My daughter had a double flat and a damaged wheel while passing through Huntsville on her way back to college. Chris, the manager, was extremely helpful and even sourced a great deal on a replacement wheel when he could have just as easily ordered one from the dealer at a much higher price. Ive been going to Firestone for over ten years or more. I’m extremely satisfied with their services. From the moment you walk in the Rep listen to you. What ever the problem may be. The Rep will call before doing anything repairs and let you know the cost. There has been times where I felt things were costly. However we were still able to communicate the issues. There have been changes with the Service Rep working on the vehicles. For the most part they are ok. Thanks Firestone for taken care of my vehicles.

It’s hard enough when you have car trouble and you don’t know where to go. Picking the right place is key to a car’s performance. From the moment I walked in these people provided AMAZING customer service. When they got to me…the focus was on me and my vehicle needs. The quality of work shows because now I can stop on a dime! I was educated on my lifetime brake warranty AND the 2yr warranty for the rotors. Jeff gave me his card to contact him personally if I have any additional issues or require additional services. Came by on 9/3/24 for an inspection because It sounded like my driver side CV axle was clunking and rattling. They confirmed that it was bad. I couldn't afford what they quoted me for the work so I paid the inspection fee and left. My uncle is a mechanic and was in town so he helped me put a CV axle on the driver side that night. On the 5th, I drove to Atlanta,ga and back with no issues from the CV axle. On the morning of the sixth, it sounded like my dust shield was touching my rotator on the driver side so I took that wheel off and bent it away from the rotor. I also applied a little more grease to the back of my brake pads. I looked all around the wheel well and didn't see any leaks and my new CV axle still looked good. After putting the wheel back on and driving a bit, it still sounded like the dust shield was touching the rotor so I called Firestone and told them what was going on and they told me to come back in for another inspection. When I got there,they checked me in and I waited. Finally, one of the mechanics came and got me from the lobby and told me he needed to show me something on my car. When we got to the car, he said that I needed a new CV axle because the boots had been torn/ripped. When I looked at the CV axle boots, they did not have typical rips. CV axle boots do not rip in perfectly straight lines. It was obvious that my CV axle boots had been cut with a razor blade or box cutter. The boot closest to the transmission had been cut in an X shape and the boot closest to the rotor had been cut in a perfectly straight vertical line. Last night,the 6th, my uncle and I replaced the driver side CV axle again with the same exact brand and I drove for about an hour. This morning,I checked the CV axle and there were no rips or leaks. Some of the mechanics at this Firestone are creating work for themselves. I've attached photos of the CV axle boots that were cut.

My son had an appointment for 2 tires scheduled at noon. At 5:15, he was STILL waiting to have his service complete. It wasn’t even on the rack until I arrived at 5:15 and asked what the deal was. It was obvious that they had forgotten him because as soon as I asked they pulled it in. 40 minutes later it was complete so there was no reason he should’ve sat there that long. He lost hours at work too because of the delay. I wasn’t offered a discount, apology, nothing!! I asked Josh to be honest and tell me that they had forgotten him, but I was met with denial. If they had just owned the mistake, I would’ve been understanding. I won’t use this business again.

However, later we were informed that there was only one that punctured the tire, so they came out and told us there was only one spot that needed to be plugged up instead. Honest people! I bought an suv on November 14 and on November 16 we noticed the wheel bearing was making noises. After dealing with the service center’s that I was sent to and they were unable to get my vehicle repaired. The dealer sent me to Tabatha Moore at this Firestone. Without question I was ready for the same situation. But Tabatha got me in at noon on a Saturday got the repair approved through the warranty service and the vehicle was back on the road same day. I've had mixed experiences with this Firestone while many of them were good, I would caution anyone to be aware of up sales tactics on suggested services and overcharged labor hours on work. My suggestion is to proceed with caution and to be aware that they will look for things to upsell you on. Additionally, the labor hours they charge do not always reflect the true time it takes to do some repairs. For any simple service suggestions, they may give you such as air filters, windshield wipers, bulb replacements, and batteries you are better off going to AutoZone or purchasing elsewhere as many of these establishments have staff that will assist you for free.

I can’t gripe with them too much as I never paid for any work to be done but my experience with them has not been great. I took my Volvo s60 in for repair with them and while initial diagnostics were good and fair they struggled to source the brake booster component that my car needed. I spent one week with no communication from them and then they missed the second week estimated time to receive the needed part. I decided to take my car elsewhere for the repair and am slated to have it repaired three days from time of diagnosis. Perhaps unfairly, I do blame the lack of communication and slow pace of my repair for not being able to go visit my grandmother in the hospital before she passed. Though this is a combination of misfortunes for me. I might bring my car here for more general repair or maintenance but for part replacements or urgent repairs it might be better to face the steeper prices of a dealership and be sure your car will be serviced in a timely manner.
