Unfortunately, after bringing my cars here for over seven years, I have noticed a change of integrity and prices. My oil changes when Mike was owner were roughly 179 since new ownership prices went up one year. It’s 156. This time was 229. They charged me $49 more for labor than they did last year and would not explain why. Mike was very friendly and I felt like I had a relationship with him and trusted him. This new owner is not friendly and does not seem to appreciate his customers. I will be going elsewhere from now on.

I had my Alfa Spider at the Foreign Sports shop for roughly 6 weeks while waiting for the roll up mechanism on my drivers window to be either replaced or repaired. Cost was around $1490.

Outstanding Service – A Shop You Can Truly Trust I’ve been taking my 2013 BMW X5 to Foreign Sports for many years now, and I can confidently say they are one of the best automotive repair shops out there. From the very beginning, they’ve been nothing but trustworthy, reliable, and honest—qualities that are increasingly rare in the automotive industry. Whether it’s routine maintenance or more complex repairs, they’ve always taken great care of my vehicle and made sure the job was done right the first time. One of the things I appreciate most is that they guarantee all their work, which gives me complete peace of mind. I never feel like I'm being upsold or pressured into unnecessary repairs—just straightforward, honest advice and high-quality service. Jaime and Chris, in particular, are fantastic to work with. They’re both professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to explain what’s going on with my car, answer any questions I have, and always make me feel like a valued customer. It's clear they genuinely care about the people they serve, not just the vehicles. If you’re looking for a place that treats you with respect, does excellent work, and stands by everything they do, I highly recommend Foreign Sports. They've earned my trust over the years, and I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

Foreign Sports has changed ownership a few times since it was known as Mike's Foreign Sports (which I loved). The current business approaches maintenance in a completely different and in my view vastly inferior way. Back in the day, Mikes would do a routine service based on what the manufacturer recommended and anything coming up on inspection. If your brakes still had a couple thousand miles on them, they'd tell you that you could wait a while. They were super honest about everything. For example - they said switching the spark plugs on my car would be relatively expensive and asked if I'd be selling it in the next year, I said probably, they said they wouldn't bother doing it then as it wouldn't affect the trade value and the current spark plugs looked fine. Perfect. They did all the stuff you needed to do, nothing you didn't need and anything in between they explained and gave you the option. The current owner takes a wildly different approach and recommended that I do a whole load of work to my car following a routine service. I asked them what actually needed to be done and they said these were the correct maintenance items specific to my vehicle based on mileage driven by the system. OK... so I checked the maintenance items and intervals recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, and they were completely different. There were things the manufacturer said did not need to be done until 150k which they were recommending at a quarter of this mileage. The recommendations did not correlate with the manufacturer guidelines at all. I put this to them, and they said that the recommendations were what they thought was best to keep a car in tip top shape and that might be above and beyond what the manufacturer recommends. OK, but that isn't how things were presented... There were things on there which, as a car guy, I knew were totally unnecessary. Transmission fluid for example, why are you saying I should change this when the manufacturer says it doesn't need to be done for years? Am I towing anything? No I'm not. Ok, so I can wait right? Yes. Ok, great, but why not speak to me first instead of just recommending I do something totally unnecessary? If you have a car and you want to do absolutely everything which will keep the car in amazing shape, be proactive in terms of maintenance - the way they approach things will be perfect for you. If I had a classic car, or a car which I knew I wanted to keep for a very long time, I can see how it might make sense. But I don't, I will keep my cars for a few years, sell them and get a new one. I am not thinking about making sure the car will run perfectly when it's at 150k miles, I won't own it then. Ask me first before presenting a bunch of options which I simply do not need to do (according to the manufacturer, I just want to follow the manufacturer recommendations). Second issue, and this is the killer for me, is price. The price for basic service is a little expensive but fine. The quotes I received for the additional work were frankly outrageous. Literally dealer pricing or higher. If I take my car to the dealer, they will guarantee everything, I'll sit in their nice air conditioned offices, they will give me a loaner car, I will get my car back washed and cleaned... personally, I am not willing to pay a premium for all that, so I go to an independent garage. Why on earth would I pay a huge premium on what stuff should cost if I get none of those benefits? I don't see how you can justify it unless we're talking about the quality of the work. Ok, so again if I have a classic car or vehicle I want to baby, maybe the premium, dealer level pricing is justified. But it's not for me. Especially if we're talking about routine, easy stuff which anyone can do. I had a quote for brakes (both axles, rotors and pads) which was close to 3k. Absolutely insane, huge mark up on parts and insane labor costs. I did the brakes at Tireman for just over 1k using the identical OEM European parts which were quoted by Foreign Sports. 3k for brakes is totally insane. Completely unjustifiable.

Another 5-Star service at Foreign Sports with a maintenance schedule brake fluid flush. They can take you on short notice, give you a timely quote, don't try to upsell you and the car is ready when promised. I wouldn't trust my out-of-warranty BMW anywhere else. They're the best!

Glad to find an independent shop to fix my Tesla Model S. Was able to save money on my repair compared to going through Tesla. I will definitely consider them for future repairs.

I have a Mercedes S550. What impressed me most about Forein Sports are basically couple features: One, is the fact that despite of the fact that they've advanced automated phone system there's always a human available at the press of a button. The name is Chris, highly skilled in communication and human relations. He responsive, Knowledge, and hownest. My car is complexes the mechanic managed to do the job with perfection. The entire job was done in timely manner exactly as it was promised. I feel that I got a good value for my money. What I hope for is that they remain this way for the foreseeable future 🙏.

Got my 2001 Lexus LX470 back in shape and ready for the Sierra Nevada Mountains later this week. I walked away with confidence that they knew exactly how to get my car back in shape. They fixed a coolant problem that I was having and repaired the suspension among other things. You will not be disappointed in their service. They keep you updated on the progress of their work. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience with My Lexus today at Foreign Sports in Thousand Oaks. Rene took care of me. He was honest with the brake job I had it done. Another local shop said I needed rotors front and rear right now and Rene measured them said I did not need rotors right now, but in the future. They fixed my brakes shoes that were needed. I definitely return in the future to do business with this place. Honest people are harder to find these days.
