The Reed's Auto team is fantastic! Their friendly, skilled staff are masters at their craft. They have repaired multiple cars for me and I have only praise for their work. Most recently my 4WD Suburban was having oil pressure problems and they fixed the car in a timely and cost effective manner. My car broke down and Reeds was the only shop that was still open. Jhon didn’t hesitate in helping me even though the shop was almost closed for the day. He spent two hours after closing trying to get my car running as I needed to get home in Long Beach. He put various parts in the car but wasn’t able to get it going smoothly. He didn’t charge me for all that work because the issue couldn’t be fixed. That says a lot about Jhon, he is an honest mechanic and more importantly, a great person. I wholeheartedly recommend everybody to take their car to this shop.

This local business owner, John Williams, had been in this business since he was a teenager. He has scruples and morals and is really just a great guy to know. Once, facing an expensive major fix on my Mazda, (central computer module which his shop diagnosed) he told us that it should still be covered by our warranty even though we had had the car for 10 years. That meant giving up a very sweet payday since we had to visit the mfg dealership instead. It’s the kind of guy he is. Another time a repair was performed and a week later some fluid started leaking all over our driveway. I called on a Saturday. He told me to bring it in immediately. I did so and he inspected it on the spot, saw it was the wrong part and fixed it for free. He also have be a bucket of special automotive soap to make driveway spotless again. This is the kind of guy you want to develop a relationship with. Very trustworthy shop and competent.

Absolutely one of the best mechanic experiences I’ve ever had. I have a diesel and not many work in my vehicle or know how. I had an emergency situation and they were great at getting me in, getting the parts and completing the job. The shop was clean. The mechanics were extremely knowledgeable, and they made me aware of a bigger issue before it becomes a major problem and showed me and explained hat it was that is going in. They also asked me if I wanted the old part- which is indicative of an honest genuine mechanic. I highly recommend them and will recommend them to anyone who needs a great honest mechanic. In fact I already have. I’d also like to mention Liz who is a the desk- she is so friendly, and personable and made the experience even better. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

I only know what I am experiencing now with Reeds Automotive and its operators. On 10/10/25 work was completed on my Envoy at Reeds Automotive on the parking brakes and the rear disc brakes. This is what happened due to Reeds Automotive’s negligence during the reinstallation of the rear passenger disc brake caliper: On 12/26/2025 at about 2:40 pm while traveling southbound on U.S. 101Freeway, about a mile past exit #78 Seacliff exit the rear passenger disc brake caliper came loose and destroyed the tire and rim. I was in the fast lane traveling about 60 mph. I was able to get to the right shoulder safely and without any incidents fortunately. My immediate need was to get my Envoy off the freeway. I used my AAA services to get it towed. At about 6:45 PM Carlson towing arrived and towed the envoy. Although I have a Preferred Towing Plan with AAA, the tow truck could only take me to Ventura because Carlson had a lot of calls going that evening due to the rain. There was no point in arguing about it. I had him take it to Big Brand Tire since they have serviced my vehicles before and this was the best choice. We arrived there at about 7:35 pm. The shop was closed but there was a lead person there getting ready to leave. I told him what happened, the tow truck driver confirmed it. At that time, I didn’t know that the disc brake caliper was the cause of it. This work was on 1/8/2026 then subsequently on 1/15/2026. After I received all the documentation, receipts and costs that I paid because of Reeds Automotive’s negligence, I sent an email to Reeds Automotive along with copies pictures, documentation, receipts and a breakdown of the cost that were paid because of Reeds Automotive’s negligence. This Email was sent on 1/11/2026, there was no reply. On 1/17/2026, a letter, complete documents, pictures and cost breakdown was mailed by way of priority mail w/tracking. I received acknowledgement, from the post office, that the packet was received on 1/20/2026 at 4:34 pm. Still no contact from Reeds Automotive. On 1/28/2026, I called Reeds Automotive and spoke with John Williams. He said he has the packet that I sent and he would get back to me on Thursday or Friday, there was no return call. On 2/2/2026, I left another message, yet again response to date. This is a documented accounting that has yet to be resolved. The gravity Reeds Automotive’s failure to contact me seriously concerning and they are very fortunate that no one was hurt or killed. Money over safety???
