I have been going to Jeff Walson at Champion Transmission for transmission services since around 1998 when he repaired my 1990 Jetta 5-speed manual. He saved me hundreds of $s of unnecessary work on that car, and provided excellent service. I never had a problem with that transmission again. I have had other shops work on my cars' transmissions prior to 1998. I can tell you that Jeff is the best transmission service and repair expert and most honest automotive service professional have ever known. I trust Jeff implicitly to take care of my cars' transmission repairs. He is my first and last choice for transmission service and repair in Southern California.

Champion was able to get a new transmission with excellent warranties for 3500 Chevy Express. They got our work van back on the road quickly and took the time to educate our drivers about proper techniques to extend the life of our vehicles. On top of that they were informative and kept me updated with their pleasant demeanor on the phone. We will use them again and would recommend to our family and friends.

Jeff is truly a great guy. Swapped out my differential, installed aftermarket bushings, and saved me a ton of money. The dealer wanted double to replace the entire subframe instead of just the bushings. Highly recommended, these guys know what they’re doing.

Thank you Jeff for taking care of me AGAIN. 10 years ago, Champion transmission rebuilt a trans in my work truck. I remembered how satisfied I was with the service then, so when I had an emergency breakdown 200 miles from my home, I had my vehicle towed all the way to Champion (AAA premier service was also great). When Jeff inspected the transmission and reported to me the extent of the damage, I feared the worst in regards to the cost. Long story short, Jeff stayed in touch with me, rebuilt the trans, and for a price less than the dealer quoted me for a rebuilt! I was so surprised by the price, I even offered to pay him a little more than he asked me for. Jeff declined my offer. Thank you Jeff!!!!!! Service, honesty, and integrity are still very much alive at Champion Transmission.

My son is a student at California Lutheran University and drove his car from Washington State to school this year. He started to have a problem with his clutch on his drive down, the dealer told him he needed to replace the transmission. We found Jeff at Champion Transmission and he took a look and his car. The car did not need a replacement transmission and they fixed the issue at half the cost for full replacement. Jeff is very honest and a great communicator. He got it fixed in less then a week and my son is back on the road. Being a parent in Washington trying to help my son in California Jeff jumped in and handle it for me and I knew my son was in good hands. Thank you Jeff and hands down the best shop for those students attending CLU and anyone needing transmission work in Thousands Oaks area. Highly recommended!

Jeff is one of the few, if not the only HONEST mechanic my wife and I can trust with our transmission repairs. He did such a good job with the transmission of our first vehicle that we took our second vehicle to him for repair as well. Our Jeep was still under warranty and I was just fed up with the lies that our dealer was giving us. At that point, I was willing to have Jeff fix it just so I can have peace of mind, even if I broke the warranty. Jeff referred us to a someone who worked at another dealer. Unfortunately, that person was no longer there and after that dealer tried to give us the run-around, Jeff helped us out to get the necessary repairs under warranty. He looked out for our best interest even if it meant him not doing the repairs. The dealer is now doing the necessary repairs.

I brought my 2001 Diesel in for a huge Clutch issue. Jeff and his team were excellent. Jeff new and provided exactly what I wanted (its my baby) and performed a great timely job well done. I feel very fortunate to have found this place. Very professional across the the board. I am an Engineer very picky about what is done to my vehicle but after talking to Jeff no worries at all. Do yourself a favor take your transmission issues to him you will be happy for the results.

I have a 2006 BMW 530i that was experiencing transmission problems, slipping and getting stuck in certain gears. It was just about to turn 200K miles, but I didn't want a new car (payment) yet, and I loved driving this car. Jeff worked every angle in diagnosing the problem and was upfront with me on all the options and costs associated with what he may find once he got in there. I ended up needing a complete rebuild, but they did a GREAT job, came in at the estimated cost (which was lower than quotes and work from other shops I had seen), and got the car back to me in a few days. Jeff and his shop are the kinds of places that you want to support...good guy, and good work!!

Champion Transmission is a very honest and trustworthy shop. I was referred to Champion Transmissions from my primary auto repair shop located nearby and I am very thankful for their quality referral. The crew at Champion Transmission are not only very professional and very nice, but also very honest. My circumstance could have very easily been taken advantage of and subsequently been sold a new transmission when not needed. However, they discovered the issue my vehicle had did not warrant a new transmission. Rather, it took removing an after-market component I was not aware even was installed on my truck and adding fluid. Current times find a lot of businesses and individuals taking advantage of any opportunity to squeeze more money off unsuspecting customers. Champion Transmission DOES NOT. Thank you to Jeff and your team for the quick diagnosis and turnaround. I will be referring anyone I encounter that needs transmission services.
