I took my son's 02 Passat in after I did a lot of work on it. They assumed since I did some work myself, it would be a big job, so they just sat on it for a couple weeks. I had a miss in the engine and a oil leak, I think from the turbo feed line. After almost 3 weeks, they changed a coil pack which fixed the miss. They just said they couldn't find the leak and didn't address it at all. Now I have to finish the work myself, not sure why I took it in at all. I should have taken it someplace to read the codes and diagnose the miss and changed the coil pack myself. I heard tons of great things about this place, but I left unimpressed. I'll probably go to the VW dealership next time.

Sorry this will be so long. And I'm editing some of it out. First took there when all electrical failed in mid-January. Happened again in mid-June. And again 14 days ago (I haven't taken my car there and I am looking for a good mechanic). Each time after it's "fixed" I had to come back the next day because they didn't reset the car's computer - windows, radio, and back sun screen - didn't work. The second time, I watched the young man run back and forth between my car and the diagnostic computer in the shop to figure out how to do the reset. Drove away and the sun screen didn't go down. I'm 71, was in Dakota Dunes on July 1 when the car started acting up and I prayed the entire way home for it just to make it home, please don't die out here on the street. Thus far, I am $1,500 out and the car still isn't fixed properly. When I called after this breakdown 2 weeks ago, he got to a point where he said "you know, those Toyota Avalon's have a lot of things that go wrong" and I stopped him right there. If there are "a lot" of things your diagnostic computer should have picked them up.

They work on foreign cars so was able to take my Audi A4 there to have radiator replaced. They are curious and very helpful. They tend to be busy so may take a little longer to get vehicles fixed there but they did and excellent job were very helpful took good care of my vehicle while WA there being repaired. It got backed into and that's how w a hole got put in the radiator and the front grille needed replaced so they called the body shop they work with and took care of that aspect of the situation so that was awesome of them. Their secretary is super nice and helpful and answers any questions you may have to the vest of her ability and if she doesn't know she will find out for you. Would give them 5 stars but like I said they are a little slow than most places but with that they do better work so I feel it's worth the extra day or two to get better quality of work from them. I have already recommended them and I will definitely recommend them again.

In Sioux City on business. Car wouldn't start at Hampton Inn. Coldest day of the year. Frerichs owner was awesome and showed empathy. Told me to get it here and "they'd fit in somehow today". Ended up getting the car to turn over and start, so we didn't need service, but Frerichs would've taken me in to help right away. Many other repair shops wouldn't that cold day.

They are amazing people here!!! Honest, and willing to go the distance to keep a customer happy. They'll have my business for life. Daughter had a Honda pilot that needed a helicoil installed. Tried another shop in town and wouldn't even quote me a price. Called here was quoted a price. Many attempts later They were successful even going over the quoted price. I was told price should have been more with amount of labor on the vehicle. But junior stuck to his word and went the extra mile in the number attempts till he was successful. Simply amazing. And I'm happy to say a year and a half later the spark plug is still in the head. Thank you to all who worked on this vehicle and went the extra mile to repair it.

My truck broke down on the interstate and I'm from out of town. I gave them a call and lined up a tow truck and had it towed to them. They were the only ones in town that would look at it. senior gave me a ride to where I needed to be for the day and once they finished, Junior came and picked me up and took me back to their shop! They fixed my truck and the price was very reasonable for what they had to do. They could have made me wait a day. Definitely recommend this crew for any maintenance needs on your vehicle!!! I can't thank the whole crew and staff enough!!!!

My BMW was experiencing a "Engine Malfunction. Reduced Power" code, especially when I came to a stoplight (VANOS). I was recommended Frerich's Garage. They discovered it was (merely) a faulty oil filter cap. They replaced it, and it has been code-free ever since. They are friendly, fair, and honest. They are also very busy, which I consider to be a good sign. Great destination for your foreign vehicle. Highly recommend!

Unbelievable service. We were traveling through Sioux City when our Volvo XC70 overheated and we lost power steering. That is a scary experience but their friendly service calmed me down. If there were 10 stars available I would give Freticks a perfect 10! I was visiting my mother in South Dakota heading back to my home in New York and a strange sound was coming from my Jeep. To make matters worse this occurred over the weekend. The local Jeep dealership was booked with appointments until next week. I'm a working professional and also full time college student so that wouldn't work well for me. The local dealership was kind enough to refer me to Freticks. Praise God they were able to fit me in same day and get my Jeep back. I'm so great full!!! Highly recommend!!!!

When I arrived in Sioux City from Dallas, TX for a summer gig, my oil light came on and and my tires needed rotating. When Jiffy Lube couldn’t do it because they didn’t have parts to service my 2021 Volvo, they suggested Frerich’s. Wow! I’m so thankful they did! What wonderful and helpful people! They fit me in quickly and handled the maintenance on time as promised. Honest, friendly, and easy to work with. Everyone in the waiting room that morning knew the woman working, so clearly these people have loyal customers. I told everyone I saw in town about them! While I hope I won’t need them again soon, I would go back in a heartbeat. It’s refreshing to know these kind of people exist; they are hard to find in Dallas!

I clearly stated i had battery, starter, alternator already tested, and that the car would run properly after a jump. Your business failed to do due diligence and test for a draw. You did the bare minimum to make a quick buck, and took advantage of a person in a desperate situation. Incredibly shady business model.

I really like this shop. I’ve had 3 cars worked on at this shop in the last 3 months. They are easy to talk to and up front and honest about options and choices. They communicate over calls and text which is great because I can’t always answer my phone during work. If there is an issue outside of their wheelhouse, which isn’t much, they refer you to other reputable shops here in Sioux City. You should go here. Please call, if they don’t answer it’s because they are fixing my car. Leave a voicemail, they call back promptly.

I Had Frerichs Garage Trouble Shoot A "No Start" Issue On My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They Eventually Determined It Was A Bad ECU! They Ordered A Replacement ECU From Flashmasters On Ebay.com. The ECU Was Bad and Started Giving A Transmission Trouble Code! I Took The Jeep Right Back To Frerichs Garage "Suspecting It Was A Bad ECU That They Had Just Put In and They Told Me It Was A Transmission Problem. So I Took The Jeep To A Transmission Repair Shop. The Transmission Shop Could Not Diagnose What Was Causing The Transmission Code Cause? So I Went Back To Frerichs Garage and Told Them What Was Going On and They Got A 2nd Replacement ECU and The Transmission Repair Shop Installed The 2nd ECU and That Fixed The Problem. Which Means The 1st ECU From (Flashmasters On EBay.com) Installed By Frerichs Garage Was Bad and The Cause Of All The Transmission Problem The Whole Time! So Now I'm Out $290 Dollars For Transmission Work That Was "NEVER NEEDED" Frerichs Garage" Won't Refund The Unnecessary and Unneeded $290 Transmission Work and Neither Will Flashmasters, The Provider Of The Bad & Defective ECU...

This shop was recommended to me by a neighbor. Communication was fantastic, especially for a small business. Very friendly. And I was told my vehicle *might* be ready by Friday. I assumed it wouldn’t be until Monday at best. Then I got a text Thursday afternoon that it was ready! Very happy with our experience. Sent my car here was told 110$ to scan it. Turns out it was 188$ not happy cuz all they did was tell me my starter wire was melted and the motor seized up. Almost 200$ for that diagnosis. I call bullshit and trust me none of my vehicles will come back here again...overcharging u for simple shit that shouldnt cost more than 100$ mind u a diagnostic is not fixing it and it used to cost u 40$ straight rip off. Avoid this place they cost more than they actually do.

The only complaint I have is that I live 20 minutes out of town and I don't get a call when it's done you have to kind of call them. I can't say enough good things about Dale, Tracy and the staff at Frerichs Garage! My daughter who is from out of state had car troubles and needed a place to go to help fix her car. Not only was this overwhelming for her but it was on a Friday at 4 pm. When we called to ask if they could help the person who answered (Tracy) said they were way booked out. After hearing it was for my daughter she said to hold on and when she came back told us they would at least look at it. Then Dale and his staff came into the picture and talked to my daughter and asked for her key to her vehicle. After about 15-20 min. Dale came back in and spoke to my daughter who was on the phone with me and my wife and said "you're all good to go, it was a plug and coil". Then told us how much which was a very fair price and my daughter was on her way! Not only were they super nice people who made sure my daughter was comfortable and ok but the customer service they provided was way beyond excellent!!! Once again, as a dad, I can not say enough good about this place and the staff who stopped what they were doing to do a good deed! The world IS full of GOOD people and you are proof of that!
