I’ve been searching for a trustworthy and experienced mechanic over the years and since using GenTek the past two years on all my vehicles I won’t go anywhere else. Greg is very knowledgable, always takes his time to discuss any repairs and offers recommendations that fit into my budget. Great place to get your car tuned. Everyone there is friendly, knowledgeable, and explain everything to you. Had my 95 impala tuned at a different shop. Totally screwed up my tune and blamed everything on me and the engine. Took it here to gentek and in a matter of 2hrs, they had my car running perfect. I can't thank them enough for what they did for me.

Highly recommend! I took my drag car to Gentek for a custom fit 8.50 cert chromoly roll cage upgrade. Greg is an amazing fabricator and welder. The roll cage was fitted cleanly through the dash and fire wall. The cage fitment is clean and out of site compared to an “out of box kit”. Can’t say enough about the attention to detail and craftsmanship.

If you care about your car, so do the fine folks at GenTek Performance. Here’s why: they are honest, charge a fair price, do high quality work, easy to communicate with, and care about your car the way you care about it. If not better. If you’re looking for an alternative to car dealerships and major corporate repair shops, give them a try. You’ll be glad you did. I picked up my BRZ this afternoon and after a spirited drive to check their work, I am satisfied enough to write this glowing review. I’ll be back the next time I want an upgrade, basic service, or fabrication. It’s worth the wait if they’re booked.

10/17 edit- Rating changed based on response from GenTek. I have an older truck I wanted to get some work done on. To start with, I wanted to get some engine diagnostics done since a blown head gasket would need to be the priority before getting anything else done. I first emailed GenTek and provided some details about what I was looking to get done and asked if this was something they could do. No response. After a couple weeks, I called them. The first time I called, I spoke with a woman, told her what I was looking to do and asked for a ballpark figure on getting the diagnostics done. Ballpark. Not a written in stone written estimate. She said she'd check and get back to me but never did. I called back 2 days later and spoke with a gentleman who claimed he knew about my inquiry and said they'd get back to me. Never did. My trucks now at a different shop getting the work done. Must be nice to be able to turn down money....

Long story short, these people are amazing. If you have a performance car or sports car in the reading area these people are great and very trustworthy! Had an issue with my bushing on my transmission today and Gentek was right next door. I walked in and waited not even 2 minutes before I was greeted and asked how they could help. I explained my issue and how I was unable to move my car from the parking lot next door. They were more than happy to help me, and do the work in the lot before I was able to move the car to there garage. The mechanic who worked on the car was extremely helpful and answered all the questions I had. All in all they saved me over $1000 in towing fees alone and having to find a way home from an hour away!

Gentec worked on my 1969 Firebird and they did a fantastic job. They rebuilt my suspension and it now rides and handles like a dream. Just wanted to add that I just got back from a two week, 2,000 mile round trip through New England and Canada with my Firebird and it drove like a dream. I had the pleasure of visiting this location from a referral and they didn't disappoint. GenTek Performance will now be my go to mechanic because they are quick, honest and fair priced. I popped in for an inspection for my vehicle and they were able to set me up for an appointment that week. (YUP...they do MUCH MORE then performance work) Nikki and Greg were soo pleasant and kind I felt very comfortable there and my tech Andy was very knowledgeable and took great care of my car and explaining everything to me.
