Went in to have my headlights and blinkers replaced. Was given an estimate of about 700 dollars just for them to change some bulbs so I declined. Settled for a diagnosis just to see if I had any other issues. Dropped my car off at 8am and didnt get it back til noon. Not worth it for me so I wont be coming back.

I have purchased two Jeeps and had them serviced for over 20 years at my dealership. I recently had an AC problem in my Jeep. I went to my dealer and was told I needed a new compressor which would cost $2,000 parts and labor. I had recently paid them over $2,500 on similar issues and decided to get another estimate. My neighbor recommended Gines. I trust my neighbor's opinion and went to Gines. In the past I would have been skeptical to get any repairs done anywhere else but the dealership. In this case I was not disappointed. They were able to get me in immediately. They diagnosed my AC as being low in refrigerant, and a blocked filter. Problem fixed! The charge was $242. I am so appreciative of their honesty. My business has done a 180 and I am now a loyal customer of Gines.

I’ve just got to say I highly recommend Gines Auto shop on 4261 w 5415 s here in Kearns! It’s an amazing group of people who will get the job done at extremely fair pricing and in a timely manner! Chad and Amy and all the technicians are very knowledgeable and willing to help. These guys make car repairs feel less stressful. They even offer a shuttle service ride home after you drop your vehicle off to them! Finding someone to trust with your vehicle is hard, expessially when not all places are upfront and honest! I can tell you from personal experience that these people are trustworthy and don’t attach hidden fees and complications that nobody wants to deal with. They involve you in the whole process and explain the repairs and complications in ways a non car person can understand. If you’re looking for an affordable and reliable place to service or repair your vehicle visit Gines!

I took my 2013 Mazda CX-9 into Gines in Kearns on Oct 31. (How apropos, as it turned out to be a nightmare.) The issues: engine light was on, car was dying while stopped at traffic lights, had to press hard on the break to stop, and the car was making a screeching noise on a cold start up. Their charges: $104 to diagnose the screeching noise, $324 to replace the oil pressure switch (I had mentioned that the oil light would come on even though the car didn’t need oil), $366 to replace the power steering pump and alternator belts (I was told this is why the car was making a screeching noise), $645 to replace both front disc rotors and pads. Total $1,438. I readily agreed to all repairs, assuming of course, that they would fix the issues that I brought my car in with. Around 3:00 in the afternoon, Gines called. I thought they were going to tell me that my car was ready, but they told me that I also needed a new power brake booster and that would be another $1,100. Annoyed, I said no to this repair. I just wanted to come and get my car. When I picked my car up, it was literally screeching away very loudly as they brought it around the front of the shop. This seemed to bother no one but me. I marched back into the shop and said my car was just handed back to me still screeching away after I had paid to get this fixed. The lady in the shop kind of hem-hawed and said the mechanics were all gone for the day, so I had to take my car home that way. I was very upset, but I said to myself, at least the engine light is off. The engine light came back on the next morning. And it died at a traffic light. My brakes had deteriorated to the point that I knew I couldn’t continue to drive this way. I drove back to Gines the next week and talked to the mechanic that worked on my car. I told him the car was handed back to me still screeching, the engine light was still coming on, and the brakes were practically gone. He asked if the car was screeching now. It wasn’t. He nonchalantly told me to bring the car back when it was screeching and turned and walked back into his shop. I took my car into the Big-O shop down the street. I showed them a video of me starting my car, stepping hard on the brake, and the car screeching away. Then I left my car for them to look at. Their charges: $705 to replace the power brake booster, $149 for fuel injector service, $222 to fix the mass air flow sensor. Total: $1,241. They told me up front that they didn’t know what was causing the screeching and that my car hadn’t screeched while it was in their shop. I readily agreed to these repairs as fixing the brakes was critical, and the car’s computer had literally told them exactly what was wrong with the engine. It’s kind of stupid proof. I picked my car up several hours later. I almost gave myself whiplash the first time I stepped on the brakes. I wasn’t used to the brakes being so responsive. The engine light has never come back on. No more dying at traffic lights. And - no more screeching, ever. This is what’s supposed to happen when you pick your car up from the shop, but Gines appears to have a drastically different approach. I had never heard of a power brake booster before, but I know now, that having to press hard on the break would have immediately suggested a bad brake booster to any professional mechanic. It makes no sense for them not to have mentioned this in the first place. I don’t believe that I needed new rotors at all, and I paid a total of $470 to fix the screeching noise that turned out to be completely unrelated to the belts. Perhaps they were planning to eventually “add on” the needed engine repairs as well. (They had access to the same engine codes that Big O did.) I don’t know. I just know I’m done with Gines.

Had a Honda Pilot in for a couple services. Altogether, we're very pleased with how thorough their communication was. The app for repairs were helpful as well. We usually have a couple other shops we go to for services, but since I've given Gine's Auto (which is less than a mile away) this first run, I think I'll be going back for all services now. Thank you, Gine's Auto!

Gines auto service discovered the dangers of driving my car any further and repaired everything that was wrong with the left Front wheel while they were there, they discovered a pretty bad oil leak and fixed it and the repairs came in $400 less than quoted, which was a great surprise. Since the repair everything is running really really well I’m happy and will be going back with my next service.
