Highly professional and ethical. Considering that I need a new engine for my Hyundai, I had a great experience. I was recommended to take my vehicle back to the dealership because the engine is still under warranty. Considering how much a brand new engine would cost, I was pleasantly surprised that they considered my warranty and recommended for me to return back to the dealership. My car was so badly damaged, they suggested that I have it towed back for safety. They were very kind and compassionate considering my safety and liability. While waiting they offered me water and even gave me a carnation flower. I am blown away by their expertise, professionalism, ethics, and hospitality. I highly recommend Grand Garage.

This was absolutely the best auto repair experience, right from the first call that I have ever had! True to their logo, friends don't let friends go to the dealer. I needed rear struts replaced, they beat Nissan by hundreds plus they offered 3yr 36k warranty vs 1yr 12k. I felt welcome from the first call to meeting Rob, I believe is the owner when I dropped off my car. Janet was amazing and very welcoming including her follow up call to thank me for stopping by. These guys get it, they made me feel safe, like they were on my side. Can't say enough, trust me I thought customer service was a thing of the past, this team earned my trust and I will be back. We've been using Grand Garage for a while now, but a recent visit reminded us why we keep going back! I dropped my vehicle with a "weird noise" complaint. Rob took the info and was super firendly and helpful during the entire intake process. He called regularly to update status on the vehicle and give us options. Customer service has always been tops at GG! The repairs have always been quick, or within the estimated time frame; they make EVERY effort to make the car repair "hassle" easier - loaner cars, rides, other options; AND, this time around, when they could have done the repair for $2,000, they recommended another customized service center with the abibilty to repair it for less. That recommendation saved us over $1,500! The honesty, friendliness and excellent service are worth five stars. But the trust they've garnered with us, is invaluable! Thanks Grand!

Grand Garage provides a truly GRAND experience. These folks treat their customers super well, and make you feel at home from the moment you walk into the front office. They provide FREE shuttle service to and from your home (while you wait for your car to be finished), and also a more detailed vehicle inspection report than any other auto mechanic I've ever seen (including pictures and technician comments). Finally, they don't try to compel you to complete any repairs "just because" - instead, they give you a list of suggested repairs in order of priority/urgency, but allow you to make the final call. I get the feeling that these guys treat their customers' cars, the same way that they'd treat their own. Give them a fair shot if you have the chance!

I have been coming to Grand Garage for a few years now and I am continuously impressed with their quality of service. They always explain to me exactly what is going on with my car and give an in depth inspection report at the end of my visits. I appreciate the time they take to really invest in the health of my vehicles and in giving me advice for present and future needs. They are very trustworthy and so accommodating. They get the job done in reasonable time always and keep me updated throughout my service appointments so that I always am aware of the progress of my cars service! I highly recommend Grand Garage as a great auto shop in Escondido.

Grand Garage is outstanding from the rest. I own several older cars since I cannot afford a new one. These cars are ‘end of life’ cars such that once they cost more to fix than worth, I simply junk them. So often I will take a car in and the price of repairs just does not justify keeping the car. One car I drive daily is my 2010 Subaru Impreza. The poor baby finally threw a code that I thought would be the end of it. I called Grand Garage and the lady who answered the phone was very nice, knew what she was talking about, and convinced me to at least to bring it in. Since I live more than 50 miles from Escondido, I had to wait for my wife to get off work to give me a ride home. This wait gave me an opportunity to talk to one of the staff about car questions I’ve had for a few years. He patiently explained everything in plain English and again made me feel very comfortable. The next day the Grand Garage called with a full estimate within my budget and emailed a complete detailed description of the car’s needs. A day later the car was ready. I told them I would be arriving prior to opening so they could recommend a breakfast place (which they did). In addition, the shop opened early to accommodate me. The car works perfectly, and I am so happy I found Grand Garage. I found out that they work on cars other than Subaru’s so I will be visiting them again. I highly recommend this place, and they gave me a AAA discount to boot!

I had a no crank, no start issue with my car. I checked everything and replaced some parts. Still no start. I was at the end of my limited expertise. I gave up and took my car to Grand Garage. Rob was confident his crew would figure out the issue. A few hours later, he called to confirm the crew had tracked down some wiring that mice had chewed on and had me up and running in less than a day. I can't sing enough praise for Grand Garage!

I can’t reply to the original review. However, with your logic of quoting me pads only ,at 1300, my initial complaint notes that the Toyota dealership is charging 800. So regardless of our disagreement, why are you so over priced for a brake job? You can make this right by reimbursing me a portion, due to you being extremely over priced and my brakes still squeaking from rotors, you talked me into replacing. It was unfortunate that the test drive didn’t produce the sound but you can understand how difficult it is to get your vehicle to make the sound when you at the mechanics.

Honestly have to say I would highly recommend this business. They go above and beyond your normal customer service. They are honest and reliable. It is difficult to find an honest mechanic but I feel that Grand Garage is completely up front with their prices and the service you may actually need. I asked them to service my car for what I thought was a recommended service for maintenance and they saved me $$$ by telling me it was not due for my car for the mileage I have currently. They could have just taken my money, but they were honest and saved me the money I would have spent at a dealership. I also received a Thank you card for an oil change from the owner! :) It is really difficult to find this kind of service. So as a single female I highly recommend this honest upstanding business.

The steering gear started to leak power steering fluid from the rack seals. These things never get better on their own and because I use this vehicle in the desert. I need all the reliability I can get. Grand Garage replaced the worn-out components, a new rack, bushings, and tie rod ends. It drives like new and no more fluid accumulating on the floor of the garage. Thank you guys!

They charged me $300 to tell me the next day that they won't work on my vehicle due to its size. They viewed the vehicle multiple times before accepting the job and assured me they were capable and willing. No repairs were done and several engine components were disconnected and strewn across the interior, with mouse droppings and my own possessions scattered everywhere.

Came here around 4 months ago because my car had a variety of issues. Not only were they extremely friendly but the communication was top notch and the price was not exorbitant. They also gave me a heads up that the inside of some of my tires were bald (they don’t even do tires, it was a safety concern they wanted to point out) and I am endlessly appreciative for that.

Grand garage has gone down hill extremely fast. When I first started using them, they seemed to genuinely care and had extremely reasonable prices. Which is why I recently went to them, However $1700 for brakes and rotors is beyond unreasonable however I still did it, to which I regret, and i am still having squeaking. They claim it’s because I didn’t change the rear rotors, but the squeaking is coming from the front. 🤔 Either way, they've turned into more pushy salesman than anything else. Pressuring me (and others I’m sure) into replacing parts that are not needing replacement, in this case, my rotors instead of offering to resurface them. I talked to the dealership and they would have charged 800 dollars to do the entire brake job, front and back with resurfaced rotors. I will never use grand garage again and I hope this review saves someone the headache with dealing with them. Unless the owners make this right, I will be reaching out to the BBB to let them know about their practices. There are several reviews on yelp complaining about the same issue.

My usual trusted mechanic does not do wheel alignments. His receptionist suggested a nearby tire store, but warned me they would try to "Upsell". Not wanting to deal with a pushy tire store I took my car to Grand Garage. They fixed the alignment problem, and told me that it wasn't 100% perfect, but so close that replacement parts were not necessary. The "Toe" was perfectly aligned and something with the word "Speed"? was aligned. We took the car to them in the morning and got it in the afternoon of the same day. We also received a Triple A discount.

Yes it was only an oil change and asked them to check a few things but it was a nice experience and think I'll be going back for future work. Good prices and service but they don’t own up or admit to their mistakes. They lost my coolant overflow cap on my truck and I didn’t know it was missing until I checked my oil two days later at the gas station. When I called the shop Bruce said that they didn’t service the cooling system so it wasn’t them. But the first time I had my truck in the shop they didn’t service the cooling system either and the cap fell off the onto the floor and one of the service techs found it on the shop floor and brought it to me in the parking lot. However this time they didn’t find it or even tell me the cap was missing! So they are clearly messing with the overflow reservoir cap when they are doing the inspection. Bruce also said that since I had been driving the truck for two days that it would have overheated without a coolant overflow reservoir cap. Another lie! I asked ChatGPT if my truck specifically will overheat if you drive without a coolant overflow reservoir cap. Here’s what it said: 👉 The coolant overflow reservoir on your truck is not pressurized. All the pressure is handled by the radiator cap. So will it overheat without the overflow cap? Very unlikely, as long as: • The radiator cap is installed and sealing • The radiator is completely full • You’re not already low on coolant You can drive it short-term without the reservoir cap and it won’t suddenly cook the engine. Why you still want the cap on there • Coolant can sloshingly escape when hot • Over time you’ll lose coolant, which can cause overheating later • When the engine cools, it may not pull coolant back from the reservoir as cleanly • Dirt can get into the tank (not ideal) On top of all that he was going to make me pay $49.99 for a new cap that they lost! I will be trying another shop next time…
