Have used Gus's in the past and I've had good experiences with them. Recently, however, I took a car in for an alignment one afternoon. They told me that could not do the alignment because I needed new lower control arms (the bushings worn out) and a new rack because the because it leaked power steering fluid all over the the tie rods and they couldn't adjust them because their tools would slip. I went under the car this morning to check out their "diagnosis" and unfortunately neither issue was accurate. The inner tie rod adjustment area is bone dry on both sides. Bushings are solid and are not compromised. I suspect that because it was later in the day, and they just didn't want to do the work. The car does leak oil from the rear valve cover, but the rack is not leaking and lower control arms were replaced maybe 30,000 miles ago. Very disappointing experience with a garage I trusted until this experience. Two stars based on prior work being good. No reason for me to go back now.

Check this place out. The car mechanic industry is riddled with places that will try to screw you. This place is NOT one. Here is my experience with them, though I admit it's not recent. I was driving home, and my car began overheating. It started stalling, and I had to let it 'rest' to recover. Finally about a 1/4 mile from home, it died completely. It was storming. Fortunately, a stranger helped me push it to Gus's. Picture this. Horrible thunderstorm, two people pushing it a dead car into a shop. The staff said they would take a look at it. Fortunately, I was close enough to walk home. They called me the next morning, with a quote. $6. Six dollars. It was a hose. A shop, that saw someone pushing their car in, charges $6 to fix it. That is what made me swear for this place for life. It's been a few years, but I always tell people to check this place out. They always did decent work, and won't ever take advantage of you.

These guys are awesome. I have used them for more than 30 years and now my children are using them too. I like that they only fix what you want fixed. They stand behind their work too. I drive over 6 miles to use them. And I have my staff drive 20 miles from the office for the repairs on my commercial vehicles. They even go there with their personal vehicles. I recommend them without reservation.

My husband and I have gone in for oil changes, inspections and a couple of random car experiences - my dealership told me I needed work done and I got fair and true advice from Gus's as well as getting the bottom plastic cover replaced within a day for a fair price. I appreciate that they explain what is going on and treat me fair & give me the same information regardless of if my husband is with me. They are honest about what they can and cannot do and timelines for getting job done as well. We moved to a nearby neighborhood within the last year and are pleased with this gem!

Needed to purchase vehicles for college bound kiddos & took them to Gus's to have the "experts" tell me what condition the "used" vehicles were in. John & Tom did an EXCELLENT job going over all three vehicles I had brought in. Saved me a TON of repairs on one particular vehicle that I was able to NOT spend my hard-earned dollars to purchase to then turn around and payout another $2,300 or MORE in repairs. Very honest, straight forward and trustworthy auto service business!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

Took car to Guy's because noise around brakes. After they inspected found brake pads and rotors were fine. This is Honestly and Professionalism at its best. They can be assured when car does need service they will get my business. Fair price. Honest. Thorough. Knowledgeable. I definitely recommend them.

Do NOT take your care her! I took my car here due to a vibrating and sound my car was making. I was told my engine mounts needed to replace so Gus's Car Care completed the work and also told me the passenger drive shaft/axle needed to be replaced so they replaced it. I paid $1700 for everything and continued to experience the vibrating and sound. I took my car back and was told they didn't know what it was sorry, handed my keys and sent on my way. I was never told what they reinspected or that they verified the parts were good. I felt like they were bothered that I even brough the car back. Fast forward to today and my car is still vibrating so I took it elsewhere and was told the engine mounts were faulty and needed to be replaced. When I called Gus's to see if there was any type of warranty John sounded annoyed and said yea there's a warranty but I had to continually ask how it worked and if I could get the warranty because I wouldn't be bringing it back to them. He never apologized and seemed to just want me off the phone. There is a complete lack of customer service and I would not recommend bringing your vehicle here.

As with everything in life, you make plans and God laughs. The night before I was planning to get my car inspected the “check engine light” turned on in my car. The next day I took it to Gus’s Car Care and the diagnostic tool and their records confirmed this was an issue for which my car had already been seen. They replaced the part complete free of charge (they said it was under warranty; and didn’t charge me for manual labor either.) As a college student with a very limited budget, I will always recommend a reliable and honest mechanic. Honesty and quality work are hard to come by these days- both essential characteristics in a great mechanic and shop. Absolutely stop by, you won’t regret it!

Went in for a tire alignment, throttle body service and brake fluid flush for my 2017 Jeep Renegade. John there was very honest from the start and told me that unfortunately they couldn’t do my alignment because their machine only did cars 2016 and older. But also, he honestly didn’t think the throttle body and brake fluid service were necessary, so I saved those 90 bucks. They could have told me that it was in fact necessary to try to charge me, and even more since my dealership was recommending it, but they didn’t try to force the service on me. Also, the most exciting thing to me was that they refilled my tires with air without me even telling them. When I went to drop it off, I had forgotten to tell them that my air pressure light had come on, but they still had the courtesy to do it for me! And last but not least, excellent and fast communication!

Honest and Trustworthy. I have had a hell of a time finding a mechanic that doesn't try to hassle me or thinks I'm a lot more ignorant on car issues than I actually am, so finding a place that has friendly folks that also tell you exactly what's going on with your car without trying to sell you on unnecessary service(s) has been very nice. They're reasonable on prices, even whilst not being the cheapest around. But every penny is worth it IMO when you know you can trust the work that is being done. Have had them check out several cars I was looking to purchase, and they've done work on a few of my own and my boyfriends as well.

Gus's Car Care is a family owned business, and they treat their customers like family! My family has been going here since 1989. They have always been trustworthy and honest in the eyes of our family, and today they showed it once again. They really are the best!

My late husband's car required a new alternator and state inspection and the radio wasn't working. Gus's got the car repaired quickly and at about half the price the place hubby and I used to take our vehicles to was going to charge. A neighbor recommended them and I'm so glad she did. I highly recommend them!!!!

I have gone into Gus's car care for a few different reasons this past year. Each time John & Tom have been so helpful - along with their entire staff. I had to take my car in for a recall to the dealership and they tried to get me to do some other service work while I was there. I waited and went to Gus's Car care for a second opinion and they gave me honest feedback of what should be done now and what could potentially wait. Either way their pricing was better and I appreciated the insights. I also love that they know both my husband and I - when either of us call or go in they have knowledge of the history of our vehicles. The joy of having a place I can trust and people who care when it comes to car care is so great. I highly recommend them!

Had a really good experience at Gus’s, yesterday. I took my wife’s car to Caliber in Murphy a month prior because her brakes were squeaking. Caliber told us we needed new brakes and rotors and that it would cost $1400. I didn’t feel good about the price and reached out to Gus’s. Jonathan at Gus’s looked at my wife’s vehicle and called me to let me know the brakes had plenty of life left and that the rotors were fine as well, they just had a little rust on them. Jonathan was able to correct the problem for a fraction of the price and without replacing the brakes and rotors. My wife’s brakes don’t make a sound. The honesty that was shown to me yesterday means I will never go anywhere else! I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to Gus’s.

I took my 1995 jeep into them with fuel leak issues. They did this repair for a very reasonable cost and it is driving way better and no leaks! They also told me my battery was old and about to die. I went to autozone next door to get one and the employees from autozone were trying to get the battery switched and were struggling. I asked Gus’s if a piece that connects to the battery needed to be replaced and he walked over to autozone with me , checked, said it didn’t and helped get the battery in for me. That was not something he had to do and was so kind. They don’t try to sell stuff that doesn’t need repair. They are honest and I will be back when I need repairs on either car in the future.

After 2 visits to other shops, stopped in for an inspection and their system worked! Before I could unload my laptop completely, it was time to leave. Great service! Then, I returned last Saturday because I couldn't figure out how to replace my fuel cap. Technicians have been fantastic and have great personalities. Thanks for saving me twice in October. Will be back.

They we're super nice and efficient. I barely had to wait for my inspection to be done and it was cheaper than other places. I'm so happy I chose to go to a family owned businesses rather than a chain.
