Guthrie Auto treated me well and took care of my car’s issues. Their main mechanic, sure knows his stuff. They get 5 ⭐️ review from me.

These dudes rule. I needed to get my truck in last minute for an oil change before a roadtrip and they were able to get it done asap. They will work on any car and fix any issues. Definitely don’t plan on going anywhere else!

I brought my car in for a second opinion after getting a pretty hefty quote from my local dealership. I’m so glad I did. After running a diagnostic test and a quick inspection they informed me that most of the repair I needed was much simpler than my local dealership quoted me. They now have a lifelong customer.

Jerry and Dale took great care of me. I’ve been having AC problems in my car for years, and with Jerry’s expertise, they were able to locate the issue and replace the parts at a price I could afford! I highly recommend Guthrie Auto!

These guys are great! Asked them to look over a really old truck to see exactly what was wrong with it, and Tom took the time to go through everything in detail for me. I really appreciated the effort they put in. They’re definitely honest and fair, and I’ll be going to them for all of my car issues going forward.

I think Jerry is a nice guy and all and probably has his expertise but he totally misdiagnosed the problem on my Nissan. I brought in the car because it was going into limp mode. At first he said it was broken motor mounts ($900.00) but none of them were broken and every mechanic I have spoken with said that wouldn't be the problem. Then he said the ECM needed to be repaired. I took it to another place and they diagnosed the real problem, the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. Not sure I would trust him to diagnose a problem but he might be fine at replacing parts.

We found out about Guthrie Automotive (Jerry) through Nextdoor. What a find! He thoroughly explained the problem and the solution to our box truck (cylinder misfire). He got us in quickly and did the repair in great time. This is the kind of mechanic you hope to find. Honest, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would recommend him to anyone! He really cares about getting to the root of the problem and resolving it.

Fast, professional, and honest auto shop. Showed me that the previous auto shop had installed the wrong part, that’s why my vehicle was having problems. Thanks to Dale and his team for great service. Brought my vehicle in the morning, picked it up fixed and ready to go the same day. I would recommend Guthrie Auto to everyone!

We’re on a cross country road trip and had a power steering line blow while off roading. No other shop was willing to fit us in that day. Dale and Tom at Guthrie Service did everything in their power to get our Toyota back up back on the road as soon as possible. We can’t thank them enough! Absolutely stellar customer service, great conversations. As well as honest and fair pricing. Highly recommend this shop.

Jerry knows his stuff. I've worked on my own cars all my life and never trusted anyone to work on them. I was recovering from a medical procedure and couldn't do a repair myself. He was recommended to us so I decided to trust him. He did a great job and his price was very fair. I have a rare '73 SD455 Trans Am that needs some restoration. I've restored cars myself but I don't know how long it will take before I recover enough to do it myself. So I made the difficult decision to get some help. Only 252 were made in '73 so I'll be very discerning about who I use to help with it. Stay tuned...

The car I’d had for eight years died. I took it to the dealership and they wanted $17,000 to repair it. I took it to Guthrie Automotive and Jim took the time to discuss with me whether or not I should spend the money to have it fixed. He said they could fix it, but in his opinion, it wasn’t worth putting the money into it. I was so impressed! He could have taken my money and fixed the car, but instead he was honest and really helped me out. I did sell my car, and when I bought a used car I immediately took it to Guthrie to have it checked out. Jim and Tom did a diagnostic on it, fixed a couple of issues I was concerned about, and reassured me the car was in good condition. Tom did tell me I should replace the air filters at my next oil change. I asked him if he could do it. He said yes but checked my oil and said it was good and didn’t need to be changed right then. Again, he was completely honest. He could have charged me for something I didn’t really need but he didn’t. I highly recommend Guthrie Auto to anyone who’s looking for a good Auto shop that you can trust!

I was going to wait before I wrote this review as I have an appointment to go back in a couple of weeks but it won't change my review if I do it now or later. Yelp has a feature where you can submit a project, and you can input what you need or want and it sends out a blanket sort of request and you can get an estimate from several businesses. It's an awesome feature. This is the 3rd time I've used it. So, last July I bought a used Subaru Outback. CarFax, of course, gives you all the services that have been done. I was desperate for a car so I didn't spend the time looking at the list. I only wanted to know if the car had been in any accidents. Here we are a year later and I need an oil change BUT I need a couple of other things looked at. Tires need rotating, air filters probably need a change, a few other things. I had received a postcard from Mark Miller telling me they do a 114k mile tune up but they conveniently left off the cost. Google to the rescue. Google said in the ballpark of $800. Well lemme just see if I have any money on the money tree in my backyard? Nope. I employed Yelp. I think I got 3 estimates and Guthrie was offering an oil change, 48 point inspection, and tire rotation for all of $89.95 😍 SOLD! Set an appointment and showed up on time. They had another couple of cars that needed help. This did not bump me out of line. I'm sitting there, chit-chatting with Dale while Tom and Jerry started on my car. I'm not paying any attention to the time. At one point Jerry asked me who I took my car to last time? I told him I hadn't and that this was my first time. He explained to me the issue they were having. The last person that did the oil change stripped the oil plug bolt and they couldn't get it off! (see included photo) They tried everything in their arsenal. They told me I would have to replace the whole oil pan. FANTASTIC! That is soooo not in the budget. I didn't understand the difference between the plug and the pan but Jerry was very patient with me and he drew me a picture, literally. I like learning new things. They had to order the oil pan and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow but I had to reschedule for my next paycheck cuz my money tree has produced all the fruit I'm gonna get this season. Top points to consider when looking for a mechanic: 1. Honesty and integrity. I am a woman and I only know a few things about cars but I will tell you that you know when they treat you like you're stupid. Yep. Been there. Done that. Guthrie treated me like a customer that needed an oil change. They did NOT try to sell me something I didn't need. 2. Friendliness. Every automotive place I've ever visited they don't have a person to just answer the phone or set appointments or make call backs. It's always one of the mechanics running between the car they're working on, to the phone, and helping a customer that just walked in. Guthrie doesn't have this either but Dale took the time to talk to me while Tom and Jerry worked on my car. Dale runs the business, he's not a mechanic (sorry Dale) so he had the time to get to know me. 3. How busy the shop is. They had 2 cars they were kind of working on and me. A lady came with her minivan but I think she had an appointment. They are in this brand new building just east of Bangeter and south of 201. They've already out grown this space. Mechanics, whether they're a car dealership or an independent are always busy. I haven't ever been to a shop that isn't busy. It's important that you, as a customer, understand the juggling act they may have to do, like me for example, all I needed was an oil change and a once over but because the plug was stripped and they didn't have my oil pan in stock we had to make arrangements for me to come back. The best part of this is that I spent 3 hours at Guthrie and I had no clue that 3 hours had passed! 4. Another tip, know what you need to have done, budget for the "repair" but over budget for "just in case" issues. Also budget for time. I highly recommend Guthrie Automotive to anyone that needs anything done to their car.

I had an exceptional experience working with Nestor and his team! From start to finish, I have absolutely no complaints. Nestor was incredibly patient and professional, and his entire staff was equally fantastic. The location might be a bit unconventional for a dealership, but that’s because they are also a tint shop, which is great as well. It’s easy to get to when plugging the directions into your phone. The street leading up to their location makes for a great spot to also test drive the car. I also had my boyfriend and dad come in to check out a Dodge Durango. My dad, being a bit of a perfectionist and a skilled negotiator, can be a tough customer sometimes. However, Nestor and his team were patient, friendly, and accommodating with both of them. They made sure everyone was comfortable, offering drinks and snacks while we waited. There was absolutely no rush during the test drive, they let us take our time and had the Durango for several hours. I can’t recommend Nestor and his team enough. They truly go above and beyond, and I’m confident you’ll have a great experience with them as well. If you’re looking for a car and tint in one, this is the place to go!
