I had such a great experience at Half Price Auto from the moment I walked in the door until my service was complete. They ran a full diagnostic on my car and discovered I needed a new transmission. Even though my warranty company gave me the runaround and wouldn’t approve the repair, the team at Half Price Auto went above and beyond. They submitted my claim, kept me updated throughout the process, and even allowed my car to stay with them until it was towed to another shop. A special thank you to Thomas and Craig, along with the rest of the staff, for their professionalism and kindness. They truly care about their customers, and it shows in everything they do. I would highly recommend Half Price Auto to anyone needing car repairs—you’ll be in good hands here!

Please do your research before you take a car to a mechanic, especially if you have mechanical insurance. In my opinion best place to take it is the dealership which they provide a ride back with insurance or AMC mechanic, they’re a very honest mechanic. So I took my 2019 Toyota Camry just for a check engine light and the key that won’t work even with batteries and at the end they never fix the key and the car stills shakes like a washing machine when I get on the freeway and supposedly it was fix. They charged the insurance almost 2k plus I had to pay $600 out of pocket and I don’t know what I was thinking when I sign that scammer payment plan they offer. I called to take my car again for them to check it and now they said I have to make an appointment until Monday to check it and I can’t be carless until than. They should change their company name to extra full price auto repair because they’re more expensive than a dealership and they won’t do the job right. Now I am stuck with an unfix car and all the lights on, plus they wanted me to change the car breaks with them and I said no because they wanted to charge me more than 1k and I took it to just breaks with a coupon and I only paid $670. I am very disappointed with this place and please read reviews. Idk why they have 4.4 stars, I think they tell people to leave good reviews because I had the worst experience and plus they saw me I didn’t speak english and struggling to explain myself and never told me to work with someone that speaks Spanish, which clearly they have people that do,I couldn’t explained myself with a guy named Thomas or Charles and now I am stuck with a $600 dollar mechanic bill, the insurance paid more than 2k and my car is not fixed at all. If I could I would give them 0 stars instead of 1 because they don’t even deserve 1 star.

Their Groupon seems to be a bit misleading. Coming on a midday on Tuesday and the way would be 3 hours and seems to be the norm. Best recommendation is to come early in the morning, first thing they open at 7am.

I took my vehicle because the engine light came on. They took my vehicle right away and ran a diagnostic test. Once they found out the problem they called me and explained the problem and the solution they came up with. Once I agree to have the work done, they proceeded to fix my car. I was very happy with their work. They are diligent, knowledgeble and experts at what they do. I would highly recommend Half Price Automotive Mechanic to anyone that needed work done on their car!

I Recommend no body take their car there!! They tried to charge me $2200 For something my car didn’t need!! So I took my car to another mechanic for a second opinion & come to find out it was a super minor quick fix that cost $16 on Amazon & my car been running fine ever since. So if you’re not educated about your vehicle on Quick fix problems specially women & something minor wrong with ur Vehicle. That will cost you 20 bucks to fix, ( Like a fuse) They will take advantage of you real fast and say it’s other things wrong with your vehicleto run the price all the up.. $$$ Trust me, I experienced that with these guys. I will never take none of my vehicles there never again!! Save a headache and go somewhere else!!

***STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP*** Never have I experienced so many problems with a shop. Came in for an oil change and had asked to get the car looked at because it was pulling to the right a bit. Was told to come in Friday at 11 am. Was given their word that I’d get a call back that day when the job was done. Friday went. Saturday at 9 am was told that oil change was done and that they would inspect the tire. And I’d get a call by noon. At nearly 4 pm I call and am told that they found a bubble and that it would need two new tires, however it was also time that the shop was closing and they could leave the car outside with keys behind the fuel cap. If I were to pick it up myself. Obviously told them to not just leave my car out open. Sunday they were closed. So Monday morning became the new pick up, and apologized for the lack of communication. Monday morning came and the car wasn’t ready for nearly half the day, when I asked to see the bubble tire, they told me they couldn’t find the tire. 4 days later the cheap tires they gave blew a side wall, while I was out on a date with my wife. Inner cords were rusted. Obviously had than purchased new tires from discount tires (proper shop). When I came in they first tried to say I had rim damage and that caused it, told them there was no rim damage and even had the employee check the rims. The employee told me that I would definitely get my money back and took the two tires from me. The manager wouldn’t give me a refund for the tires and told me that I’d get a call by Friday, depending on what the manufacturer would do. Even though the obviously blown tire was right there in his office. Which he couldn’t be bothered to even get up from his chair and inspect. Friday came and went. Had to give a call myself a following week later just to be told that 1. He tried calling me; however that was a lie. No number, nor a voicemail, not even a text or email. And that by the following Wednesday I’d definitely have a response. I don’t understand how someone can be so carelessly shady. Even worse it sheds a bad light on the few employees who are actually trying to do good. Leadership is obviously lacking as well as accountability. ***EDIT*** Since google wont allow me to make another reply, I’ll post it here. I was given a call back by the owner below. Also Mind you, he wanted to make it clear that he was making sure to give me a call on his free time from his busy schedule. Which struck me odd because the only reason I was getting a call was because I made this review. However, he stated that he would only reimburse for one tire. Even though I was told both would be refunded. Mind you I didn’t ask to be refunded for any other expense. Just the two tires. His form of refund would shop credits for one tire. As if after all the disrespect, I’d choose to use that shop again. The way I see it. I lost out on a couple hundred dollars. But now I have peace of mind. All the reviews from people who have never reviewed anything else isn’t going to sway how I see this place. If anything it just further proves my suspicions.

Came into town for a soccer tournament. While driving down 10 towards Phoenix our vehicle started acting up. We first ended up calling a mobile mechanic to our hotel (big mistake, HUGE mistake) the mechanic was not able to fix the issue after we spent $1,090. On Saturday 2-28-26 I called this shop, the took the car in quickly, fixed the problem (mobile mechanic installed the wrong sensor, crossed threaded a bolt, and broke a hose under the hood and used a 10mm socket to "fix" the broken hose). I would 10/10 recommend this shop to anyone in need. IF we are in the area and need emergency mechanical work (hopefully never again) I'd bring my vehicle back here every time.

I am in this morning, I called yesterday gor an appointment and got in this quick. These guys are so nice and helpful! The price is fantastic...and they went over Everything..before service. Came in for an oil change. Even though it was a fairly busy day, I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I had my 1-year-old with me, and the comfortable waiting area made it easy to keep him entertained. The staff was great—efficient and respectful. I’m definitely coming back!

Called them for an emergency repair for my daughter's car as she was preparing for a long trip. The car had a broken driver's side mirror assembly. Brandon mentioned that they didn't do body work but said that they would repair it, but it would be easier for us to buy the part ourselves and then bring the car in, just to mention his name and he could get it done. I want to thank Brandon and his team at Half Price Auto Repair on West Indian S hool Road for taking care of my daughters car for a safe trip home! Your team is awesome!

my experience with half price auto wasn’t the best. to sum it up they were uninformative, dismissive, and the customer service was subpar. I left feeling like i didn’t make an informed decision, which sucks because i had to spend a lot of money to get my Jeep fixed and still have work that needs to be done. i wouldn’t recommend anyone go to this shop by themselves, @ least not a woman. i’m honestly very disappointed in the whole ordeal and will never take my Jeep back to them.

Paid for a unnecessary smoke test for a emissions repair. Upon visible inspection by another mechanic and confirmation by staff at this location once I called today to ask if that was like that when they did the test. The hose was completely broken off of the purge valve. It was not mentioned before or after I was given two pages of repairs suggestions. Only told that the problem was the leaking hose and the purge valve never mentioned it was completely detached. Of course that was the issue, and had they been transparent with me and ask me if I wanted to proceed with the test. I would have made a decision then. Even with the test it concluded it was the broken hose and purge valve. I do not believe the smoke test was necessary or accurate. Based on visual inspection they could have come to the same conclusion. The smoke would have been coming out of the detached hose. How is it accurate if the hose was completely detached? How would the smoke travel through the system completely for possible leaks with a detached hose? It does not seem possible. It is as if it is a water hose, that has a dime sized hole in it, and you are expecting it to reach the nozzle, and it never does.
