Have always felt comfortable going here. Gary knew my Grandparents before this location opened, while working with Mr. lovetinsky. I have only gotten oil changed and tires rotation from them regularly. Price has gone up a little over the years, but still reasonable. I have gotten a free shuttle to work in Coralville for the last 6 years, but am starting a job in North Liberty. I'm not sure how far they will shuttle.

I was told by another auto service I had to have all 4 struts replaced and a 100,000 mile tune up done , totaling $2800. I came to Harapat for a second opinion after reading the reviews. It turns out I have only 1 front strut starting to leak The front can be replaced for less than half the cost and the rear ones are fine!! I can have a general inspection done to see what needs to be replaced ....not a blanket $400 tune up. I was very pleased with the service and very friendly attitude. I told them they definitely have a new customer!!!!

It’s hard to believe that there is an auto repair shop that understands the concept of customer service but we have one in Iowa City. I received great service at a fair price with a smile and a ‘thank you’. I will be bringing my SUV back for regular services and the best part is I don’t have to be escorted by my husband. Please give this place a try if you are tired of being taken advantage of and treated like you have an IQ of 78. It will be a refreshing experience.

These guys are really awesome. I can't think of any auto mechanic that is more trustworthy. They are incredibly honest in their assessment of your vehicle and are not looking to make an extra commission; they want what is best for you and your vehicle. In addition to their automobile expertise and honesty, they provide shuttle service to help you get around while your vehicle is in the shop. I recommend this company without reservation.

I don't go anywhere else with my car anymore. As a woman it can be hard to find a mechanic that doesn't talk down to you or doesn't overcharge you, and Harapat has never done either. They treat me with respect and have competitive pricing, even if all you need is an oil change. They always call me before doing any work and discuss my options with me. They are also good about fitting me in sooner rather than later, so long as I leave the car all day, which can make all the difference. Thanks Harapat, keep up the great service!!!

A+ Service! I have recently taken 2 of my family's cars to Harapat auto after inconsistently taking cars to several other auto service providers in the area. I am 100% confident that I will not be taking my car anywhere else besides Harapat Auto while I live in the area. They are very affordable and extremely honest and knowledgeable. Called me often and consistently to inform me of progress and was very timely with the work. I gave a list of recommended services from a different provider in town, and he suggested waiting on almost all the items after he inspected the car - has a genuine respect for his customers and is more concerned about doing what is right by his customers than making the most money. I just moved here about a year ago and I had never had to work with a mechanic outside of the family before. I had heard bad things about mechanics before, about how they can be impatient and rude and can scan you out of a lot of money or mis diagnose a problem or even create more. I went online and Harapat had great reviews, so I decided to go there. They were so friendly and didn't once mind me calling frequently to ask for updates on my car and they were quick to get it done. They were very friendly and professional and I would definitely take my vehicle to them again.

I am not sure how to feel about this shop. I was quoted $390 for engine work. The guy was considerate to take on the job in a timely manner and was very friendly. a day later, I get a call that the job will take longer than they expected. He offers to put it back together free of charge. Fantastic! I asked for the new total and he says $460, so I appreciated the his work ethic and said $460 is alright. I pick up the car. The job was done properly but my bill was $630.... How? He explains it was 2 extra hours of work, so $150 x 2 but he will bill me for one. He also replaced a part just in case which was $40. I had that part in my garage so if he called me, I would've told him not to. Anyway, he insists that the total is $630 even though I had asked on the phone multiple times to confirm the new quote. Ended up paying $630 for something I was quoted 300-400. Not happy. The job was done correctly so I won't give 1 star.

This shop is flaky and doesn't do what they say. They waste your time. I've brought 2 different vehicles in and they dropped the ball on fixing both of them. Left my truck there for a week to have a clunking noise dealt with. They said there was no issues. 500 miles later and the clunk is getting louder and louder...take it to a different shop...whom says it needs a rear u-joint. Easy fix. Harapat just doesn't want to do the work. .

We have been bringing our cars here since the mid80s when they were downtown. At one point, when we had teenagers, we had 5 old cars going and Harapat Auto (used to be Lovetinsky's) kept all our cars running beautifully. We never had to bring our cars back for the same problem because they always fixed it the first time. Still is true today. They are very friendly, hardworking, knowledgeable and honest, and that is hard to find in a business today. When our kids are in town, they still bring their vehicles here, even though they live in a different state! Can't recommend this business highly enough!
