These guys were super helpful with installing my own brake parts, giving me a second opinion from Midas and it comes to find out I don’t need new struts, just an alignment! That saved me thousands. They also flushed my very dirty brake fluid and I can tell a difference now. They also installed two fog bulbs. The only issue was the paper I filled out to drop off my car. They didn’t talk to me on the phone so they just went by what I wrote down. Even though I said do what we talked about over the phone. But with a little miscommunication everything got done that I asked for. Clean, antique lobby was fun too!

Trip of a lifetime! Until it wasn’t… I was recently traveling to Fort Dodge to pick up a puppy, and propose to my girlfriend. Trip was going smooth until my car broke down on I 80 near Iowa city. I called a few shops, and Skays was able to get me in and look at it same day. Although it wasn’t repairable, they were reasonable, and helpful in giving me time to get the shipping arranged for the car to get shipped back to Michigan. I hope I never have to, but if you ever have to, I would definitely recommend taking my car to Skay Auto!

Early last week, I was in town to help my folks out with a serious family emergency. Just as I was about to make the long drive home, I clipped a huge pile of snow on the way out of my parents' drive, which knocked something loose from the bottom of my car. Even though I called less than an hour before Skay closed, the gentleman I spoke to told me to go ahead and bring my vehicle in. Not only did they completely fix the problem in less than half an hour, they didn't charge me a cent for it so I could get on the road and get back home after one of the longest, worst weeks in my life. If I lived in Iowa City, I'd immediately switch to Skay for anything I needed, so I figure the best I can do to thank them is to tell everyone how kind, reasonable, efficient, and effective they are. I'd highly recommend them.

I don't usually give reviews but I felt obligated because of the great service. I arrived in town for my son's graduation Thursday evening with car issues that needed to be fixed before making the 15 hour drive home on Sunday. After having no luck at 2 other shops I arrived at Skay hoping they could help. After explaining my situation they took me in right away even though they were short staffed. They methodically worked through the issue that was difficult to diagnose until the problem was resolved and got me out of there by late afternoon for a very reasonable price. They kept me updated on the status and explained potential costs as they worked through the issues. Because of them, I was able to enjoy my son's graduation without the stress of worrying how I was going to get home and get my car fixed. In addition, I was very impressed with the way the service managers worked with various customers explaining the work that was performed on their vehicles. I would recommend them to anyone.

We chose Skay Automotive for recent auto repair because of their excellent reputation. Even beyond their excellent customer service and technical work, I was pleasantly surprised with their beautiful lobby. I chose to wait with my 4 and 2 year old children while they serviced my vehicle. I actually felt like I was in someone's home; it's that well-decorated and stocked with everything you could need! The lobby was clean, bright and had a great selection of activities for kids (kid's area photo included). It was amazing. When we got in the car to leave, my kids kept talking about how much fun they had! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

I went to Skay Automotive for the first time today upon recommendation from a friend for an oil change. They also filled my tires and topped off fluid. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost that was significantly cheaper than what I paid at Jiffy Lube last year. In addition, they were promptly ready at the appointment time, were quick and efficient and the man who helped me was very kind. I look forward to coming here for my future car needs.

Fantastic experience at Skay. We were referred from Dodge Street Auto who weren’t equipped to manage our hybrid vehicle. We had a big issue that was hard to figure out but the guys at Skay were persistent and tried really hard to track it down even though error codes weren’t popping. The first attempt at a fix didn’t solve our issue but they were genuinely apologetic about us having to bring it back and were so nice about it. They solved the issue on the second go and our hybrid drives better than it has in ages. Super nice, shockingly affordable, I will now go nowhere else for our big car issues.

Once again Brian and his team to the rescue. My Jeep was dead only turning over and not starting. They were nice enough to let me drop it in the driveway to fit in when they could. After a week I get the call. I asked if I needed to sit down thinking I just spent $1000s to get this fixed and it wasnt even close. They even put my dash back together that I tore apart (Thanks). Running great and Im back on the road again. My Jeep is a 2011 so I will be seeing you again. Huge Thanks to Skay Automotive.

Maybe even in the state. Brian keeps an amazing relationship with his customers and treats you like your his own family. No one can compete with Skay Automotive. We've been going to Skay Automotive for many years. I'm very impressed with their friendly, fast, professional, and economical service. Very nice lounge and waiting area. Clean facility. Knowledgeable and thorough team of mechanics. They took care of everything requested: oil change, cabin air filter replacement, and tire rotation. They also went through the full 24,000 mile checklist recommended by Subaru. Nice! Update on 27 Nov 2019 -- With some road trips planned we've stopped in to have the car checked over. Update on 19 Jul 2023 — Stopping in to have a few items checked over.

I used Skay this morning to switch over my summer tires to my winter tires, and these guys are fantastic! They had me in and out in literally less than 20 minutes, and the best part is they only charged me $40. I called a couple other places and they all wanted at least $100-150. The vibes I got from Skay is they are a great independent owned shop that takes great pride not only in your vehicle, but in treating the customer fairly as well. Their facilities are extremely clean and the decor is pretty awesome with creative art in the waiting room! I will definitely be back here in the future for (god forbid) any car issues that may arise. Thanks for being a business with integrity, Skay!
