Wow! An honest automotive repair shop? Yep! Right here on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach. These guys are no nonsense & good at what they do. They replaced the heater core in my mom's old caddie without upselling her or snowballing her on other needless things to repair. It was expensive but removing the entire dashboard would be. This is now our family's go to auto repair shop. 😊👍😁

Robert is the owner, he is a straight shooter and if there's something wrong with the car he will quote you a fair price (best labor prices you'll find around the beach cities). He will also tell you if there is nothing wrong with your car, instead of hooking you for some unnecessary updates, etc. like most dealerships do.

Good honest shop, I drive a sixteen year old Prius that needed work, they told me what I needed and what they recommended based on their experience but did not push me on it, let me think about it and decide. I got a refurbished part from a third party vendor, they had no issue with installing it. They also replaced the big battery. And to top it off they washed and detailed the car. Very, very happy with this shop.

The guy's name who diagnosed my car was Pete. He asked for $1600 to change the water pump. However, after having it diagnosed by 2 other shops, they sincerely informed me that this was a fabrication issue from VW, so they do change it for free. They also told me that all the shops are aware of this VW policy, so he should have told you! I didn't appreciate his dishonest commercial gesture, I felt that he tried to scam us. Not trustworthy!

Brought two cars here for a smog check. Service was very fast and it took ~20 minutes for each car. Pete was super helpful and a good guy to chat with. I would easily come back here for future maintenance. Smog check was $60 for my newer vehicle and $80 for my 1996 vehicle (required running the vehicle on the Dyno), which is reasonable for the area.

I've lived in 3 of the 4 corners of the country and Hermosa Automotive is the best, most honest auto shop I've ever encountered. They serviced my vehicle on multiple occasions, always getting me in as soon as possible and getting the job done quickly and effectively with fair, honest pricing. More recently when I had an emergency, they got me in the next morning at 8am and they didn't charge me a dollar when it was determined my car was dead and no longer drivable. Told me to put the money towards a new car. It really meant a lot to me. I couldn't recommend this place enough.
