Hey there! I wanted to share my recent experience with you. I had a frustrating time at the chevy dealership, where my car was kept for two and a half days without any updates. They claimed that their computers couldn't communicate with my vehicle and didn't offer any solutions. When I went to pick up my car, the mechanic was unavailable to speak to. Feeling lost, I decided to do a Google search and found Hernandez Automotive, which had amazing reviews. I dropped by on Saturday morning, shared my situation with Mr. Hernandez, and he quickly checked for a bad fuse. Within 15 minutes, he had identified and replaced the bad fuse, and showed me my car was communicating perfectly with the OBD machine. I was so relieved! Mr. Hernandez could have easily come up with a more complicated problem, but he showed his expertise by starting with the simplest solution. From now on, I'll be taking all my vehicle needs to his shop.

Original: Great service and great transparency. I got a transmission replaced there and when I didn't bring the right materials, I was informed and the correct ones were purchased. The cost was just about what I expected for a transmission replacement and I have no complaints. Additional comments: I have had two transmission replacements, upper strut bearing replacements, timing chain, water pump replacements, and engine replacements. All done with reasonable cost, reasonable amount of time, and great transparency. I highly suggest this mechanic to all of my friends in the area if they need car work done because the work always gets done right.

An oil change business diagnosed a possible transmission leak and referred us to Hernandez Automotive. Elias immediately understood the importance of an accurate diagnosis and made time in his fully-booked schedule. The accurate diagnosis was different and the issue less urgent, but the repair was completed within a day and at a very reasonable price. This was our first experience with Hernandez Automotive, but we'll be sure to return for any future repairs.

I’m so glad I found Elias Hernandez! He’s a good man and a great mechanic who takes pride in his work - he does it right! I do a lot of my own car maintenance tasks, but I’m not messing with wheel bearings (don’t have the equipment for one thing). When I suspected I needed new wheel bearings and walked into Hernandez Automotive for the first time, Elias hopped in the car for a quick drive and confirmed the diagnosis, and THEN we set a time for an appointment where I would bring my choice of quality parts (I bought hub assemblies with the bearings in place to save labor). He installed them properly for a fair price. I’ve been back a few times, and I’ll probably do less of my own car work moving forward because I’ve found a great mechanic (I like his growing team too)!

I am extremely glad I found Don Elias! I have been going to him for a few years now and I’m so proud he finally open up his own shop! He’s a honest, hardworking man who’s always busy with work but makes the time for my questions and sometimes unnecessary concerns. When my car needs service all I need to do is take it to him and I know he will take care of the rest, I wholeheartedly trust Don Elias experience and ethics. If you need work on your vehicle come to his shop, talk to him and he will help you, he is very honest, he listens and has a good heart that cares about his clients and not all about the money. Highly Reliable and Honest Mechanic! I came to Hernandez needing an installation for my 2019 Toyota Camry. Initially, I got a quote from Toyota Sunnyvale, and they wanted over $600 just to install a new driver-side mirror! That’s when Hernandez stepped in. He was empathetic, understanding, and was able to accommodate me the same day my parts arrived from Toyota Sunnyvale. If it weren’t for Hernandez, I’d have ended up paying more than three times the price at the dealership. I’m proud to say that Hernandez has become my go-to for all maintenance and repairs. He’s consistent in delivering on his promises and providing outstanding customer service. He’s incredibly analytical, pays attention to every detail, and always goes the extra mile to save me money. Another example of Hernandez’s dedication to saving me money: when my 2012 Kia Rio was having trouble starting due to a battery issue, other mechanics would have jumped straight to suggesting costly repairs. But Hernandez took the time to troubleshoot the problem from the ground up, exhaustively exploring all options before even considering any repairs. He truly cares about getting to the root of the issue and not pushing unnecessary services. I can’t recommend Hernandez enough—he’s trustworthy, skilled, and always looking out for the customer’s best interests.

I found Hernandez Automotive on Google Maps. All of the 5-star reviews set my expectations high. I was not disappointed. My new clutch is a premium brand (LuK) - an unexpected perk. It feels and works great. The price was competitive. The turn-around-time was incredible. I am a DIY car mechanic. But replacing a clutch (7 to 9 hours of skilled labor) just isn't for me. After shopping around, I chose Hernandez because from the first phone call to the last, I spoke directly with Elias (owner and chief mechanic). He was patient, discussed options, gave me a schedule and a price that worked -- all of which built my trust and respect. When I picked up the car, Elias had also checked the belts, hoses, lights, fluids, and tires and no charge. (It is great to have an extra set of eyes.) I learned that Elias has nearly 30 years of automotive experience and has owned his own shop now for a couple of years in Sunnyvale. I know I'll have many more challenging car repairs ahead. I am so glad I found Hernandez Automotive!
