We've used the same mechanic for several years. The owner sold and the quality of work went down hill. Someone recommended Hi Tech and it was a great move! We have 2 Toyota 4Runners both 2000. Problems the last mechanic couldn't or wouldn't take care of (after having the vehicle for a week) we repaired and resolved in a day. I couldn't be more satisfied! The owners and mechanics are so helpful and easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend Hi Tech Automotive!

After my first visit with Hi Tech, I decided that they would be my go-to spot for my car maintenance. I've gotten my new tires and had my oil, transmission, and brake fluid exchanged here. They threw in a car wash for me, too. I mentioned I was going on a road trip, so they applied a 'road trip check up' for free - which I really appreciated. I feel like they treat their customers right, so we keep coming back. That's why they're always so busy. Nothing like my experience at dealerships, where they just take money from you and don't worry about if you come back or not. There's a sense of honesty and trust when communicating with them. I highly recommend this location for getting all your typical car maintenance done.

The staff of Hi-Tech are beyond peer in terms of their skill and knowledge. They are always quick and accurate in their diagnoses, reasonably priced and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Hi-Tech to all my friends, and I have done so on many occasions. I can't think of a more trustworthy group. I trust them completely with my car.

I can not say enough good things about Hi Tech. They are knowledgable, fair, understanding + compassionate. They give mechanics a good name. Always willing to take a look, always willing to try, they explain issues + are just so helpful. As long as I live here I will not go to another mechanic. Can't recommend them enough.

I have been going to hi-tech for the past five years. I'll start off with the positives, the staff has always been super friendly and informative, and they do a very professional job. The place is really fast and also very organized, they keep you in the loop with what they're working on throughout the day, which is great! That being said I also have some ambivalence about working with them as well. They really don't wanna let you get out of the door without spending at least $2,000... I can't help but feel like they're pushing the up-sell super hard, finding tons of things that "absolutely need to be done" and are very convincing too. For instance, I recently went in to get a headlamp replaced, and a tire monitoring sensor reset. They called me, after checking out the car, which has been driving great, to try to get me to do almost 2k worth of other things, including telling me my tires (that i had just fully replaced with them one year ago) are all bad and need to be replaced. I'm sure some of the things are legitimate of course, but i also had this happen to me with them about a year ago, and ended up spending $2,700 with them to do a ton of stuff that they told me the car needed. Anyways, I ended up spending $1500, and they didn't even remember to reset the sensor. My partner has also had similar experiences, for instance getting $4,000 of work done on his car, and getting it back with the alignment off to a comical degree, he had to bring it back. I feel like if you're not super knowledgable about cars, you can be strongly guided to spend a lot more here than is really necessary, so just keep that in mind.

I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and to get my brakes replaced. A few hours later, I received a call saying I needed $4,000 in repairs. Worried about being fleeced, I asked which repairs were a safety concern, as I was about to take a cross-country road trip. All of them. I went ahead with the repairs, as I didn't want major car issues on a road trip. And considering this place's high rating, I thought they'd be trustworthy. Since then, my brake pads have been burning rubber as they were incorrectly installed. I guess my instinct of being scammed out of $4,000 was correct. Don't come here. Don't give this shop your hard-earned money. As you can see in the photo, the rotor is completely rusted. It's like this on all 4. Don't let this shop scam you out of thousands like they did to me.

Art, Hutch, Koko, Avo, and the whole team are the best team in LA. I have been going to HiTech since I was a kid in the backseat and they were servicing my mom's Acura. HiTech is quick, organized, communicative, fair, diligent, etc etc, can't say enough nice things.... They make my massive issues (car bumper fell off, misaligned wheels, broken door) feel easy peasy. This team is sincere and I always feel safest in my car driving away from their shop. The team is really sweet, always happy to answer any questions about your car. HiTech takes a holistic approach to repairing cars - thank you team!

My car had a mystery issue - it kept randomly stalling. Hutch and everyone worked super hard to find out the issue with my car. They found something and she has been running great ever since. I am super appreciative of how thorough they were and how they kept informed through the process. I love these guys and they have helped me so much over the years with my car.

They took really good car of my car and my wallet. They got my Fiat 500 rear running light operational (replaced a stripped out screw, and got a wayward running light out of the place where I accidentally had put it in the front (loose in the housing). They explained in detail, and showed me what would need to be done to get the front one operational. And they got my car diagnosed surprisingly fast. ( It's also just really nice that They ARE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE WITH FIAT 500'S (Which is great, and rarer then you would think). and ofcourse there were a number of other vehicles of various makes and models there as well.

The five star reviews are correct! I was visiting from the Bay Area for the holidays and my engine died. They were able to find a replacement quickly and got it installed fast. They were honest and straight forward about the process and the cost. They called me and kept me up to date on the process. Art and Hutch were super friendly and helpful! Absolutely recommend these guys!!

I never feel like I'm being over-charged or unnecessarily advised to do things that aren't necessary. They're clear, efficient, and the turn around is very fast. It's easy to make an appointment and communicate. It's a tight honest run ship

Hi-Tech is the best. They really know what they're doing and will work on anything. Customer service is excellent. Everyone always makes sure they communicate exactly what work they'll be doing and will only do what you ask them to. I won't take my cars anywhere else.

Let me preface this with two facts. The first, I got a pre purchase inspection for my car (2002 CLK 320) prior to purchasing, so I walked in to Hi Tech knowing what my car needed already, save for the reason I came in (convertible rooftop whining and stopping mid cycle). The second is that I drove about three of these cars prior to purchasing one. I know what a structurally unsound car drives, feels, and looks like. Anyway, upon calling Hi Tech, I explained that I was coming in to get my rooftop hydraulics looked at. The operation stops mid cycle, and a gentle push helps the car finish it electronically. From my pre purchase inspection, I knew I had to replace my valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. My mechanic in the OC quoted me $500 for both services. Art at Hi Tech wanted to charge me $1800 for this. Which makes no sense. Now back to the rooftop. He says, there’s a bad cylinder and I have to replace it. That will be $1400, and even then, we might fix this one and the others might go bad once we do it. Sounds shady enough. For your context, these cylinders cost anywhere from $150-300, and labor is about 1.5-2 hours. Either way, I don’t trust this shop to say with certainty that the cylinder needs to be replaced and can’t be fixed. The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was that I wanted the shop to help me put in/ find a lug bolt in my car. I purchased the wrong one from autozone, manually installed it, drove 6 feet, heard a clacking sound. Stopped and removed the wrong bolt. Art at Hi Tech claimed the hub and brake system had to be replaced, because this bolt had ruined it. He wanted $1100 to fix this. After this, I just left. Got a second look at the left rear tire and my hub is fine. These people try to upsell you HARD. If you have all the money in the world to burn, go for them. It’s a nice looking shop. But if you don’t have unlimited resources, I recommend going elsewhere. Another funny thing is that when I told Art I already knew of the fixes my car needed, he was surprised. He also said my car was excessively rusty and that I was cooked. We looked under there and there’s normal rust for a 22 year ild car. He said “bet you haven’t looked under”. Sir, I did. I spent $200 getting this car inspected and we looked at every inch of it. Careful y’all!

I switched to Hi-Tec Auto after a bad experience with another shop that performed unauthorized work. I explained this to Hutch and made it crystal clear: no repairs without my approval. Despite that, I was notified after the fact that my front rotors and pads had been replaced—without my sign-off—resulting in a nearly $4,000 bill. I was frustrated, but they assured me the brake squealing was fixed. It wasn’t. I heard it the moment I pulled into my garage. Over the next two months, I returned multiple times (more than 10) for the same unresolved issues—squealing brakes, rattling windows, an oil overfill issue that I never had. For a moment, I would go in for one thing and then leave with it still being a problem and then have a new one added... I was told it was now the rear rotors. Again, I was quoted an outrageous price and told I’d get a call before anything was done. Instead, I got a text: “Your car is ready.” Same move, again. I looked up the parts myself—what they quoted at $2,800 I found for $1,100. When I confronted them, they magically found the same parts nearby for the lower price. It felt like a bait-and-switch. Final straw - I brought in my 2016 G-Wagon before selling it. I asked them to replace the window regulator, then referred my buyer directly to Hutch. Hutch offered to do a PPI for free—which I appreciated—until he sent me and my buyer a $14K repair list full of fluff: steam cleaning carpets, windshield wipers, you name it. I told him clearly: keep it to essentials. Instead, it was a full-blown laundry list. My buyer took it elsewhere and got a real PPI for $8K—no nonsense. But I’d already knocked $5K off the price based on Hutch’s list, just to be fair. Damage done. I’ve spent more on Ubers dealing with Hi-Tec than I care to admit. They do the work before approvals, apologize later, and hope you eat the bill. Hi-Tec cost me time, money, and trust. Constant back-and-forths, zero follow-through on approvals, and inflated quotes. I have plenty of texts and video of the quality of what I was left with over the course of 2 months nonstop saga that was extremely costly, not just monetarily, but in time as well.

Art and Hutch run a top notch shop over in Silver Lake. We have been taking our Subaru to them for several years now and they are always thorough, give a fair quote, and compliment that with excellent and punctual work. While they do work on some very expensive and vintage cars in the shop it's nice to feel that they'll accept any make or model and give the same comprehensive and quality service.

These guys are awesome! I needed a battery and some other work done and they got me in right away same day. They kept me informed and updated throughout the whole process and were very transparent about pricing, which ended up being a super reasonable cost in the end. Along with that, staff was incredibly friendly and genuine! They truly saved me on such short notice. I also got a complimentary car wash and they have a lovely covered waiting area with misting 🤩 can’t recommend this team enough!

Bro said 185.00 to “diagnose” my car horn on a 95 Honda Civic It’s some basic wiring and some 20$ parts that make it function lol He said 185.00 after that you can get a quote for parts and labor 🤔🥹

To give you the full picture. I am a 27 year old woman who needed car mainentance which can be intimidating considering how many people have told me car places try to take advantage of women my age. I went in for a routine check/oil change and within an hour they wanted to add in all new rotors etc that was going to leave me with a $1,600 bill. It did not sit well with me so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. It's a good thing I did because the only necessary work my car needed was going to cost me $240. My rotors were absolutely fine. I don't know how this place has 4.7 stars. Do yourself a favor and go to the car shop down the road. They were amazing and honest. To put it into perspective: This place wanted to charge me $100 to change the air filters. When I went to the other car place they charged me $40.
