I used to go here every day on my way to work for gas, drinks, and stop in the tobacco shop when it was still Metro Petro. Since Holiday bought it out, it’s gone completely down hill. I have never had an even remotely pleasant experience since. Cashiers are just blatantly rude for no reason. I was just there and was the only customer in the store, there were 2 cashiers just standing behind the counter talking while I was just patiently waiting to check out (cuz they were just SO busy?) then a guy comes in and says he paid for a car wash about 10 mins ago and was wondering if he should keep waiting or what was going on. The cashier says “There ain’t no one out there.” He was like ok is someone going to be or do I need to come back? She responds louder “THERE AINT NO ONE OUT THERE” The customer looked confused and was like soo.. I guess I’ll just keep waiting..? and walked out. Then the cashier looks at me and says “Damn right you gonna wait. You just keep on waitin. I’m gonna take my time now too.” Just terrible customer service. Every time I go there, there’s a different person and they’re all the same. Just rude to be rude. Also, I buy the same drink every day and get charged a different price every time. I shoulda stopped going a long time ago. Waste of money and you leave super annoyed. PLEASE BRING BACK METRO PETRO.

A well-stocked store with an astoundingly rude manager. The cashier was fine, but the manager treated me like an enemy when I asked a question, and when I told her I was just giving some friendly customer feedback she glared and told me to leave the store. She was so hostile it made me laugh. I think she truly doesn't understand the concept of a customer.

Owner is extremely rude and disrespectful to both customers and employees. While an employee was trying to assist me with car wash as the machine would not accept any of my credit cards the owner came within ear shot asked the employee what he was doing and began cussing him out. I was stunned by hearing an employer cuss an employee out for going above and beyond to help a customer, and also that the manager made to attempt to rectify the situation.
This station appears short staffed on a regular basis. I used to frequent this location because it was on my path to work, but the car wash was the final straw in observing disgusting behavior to employees and customers, I refuse to spend my hard earned money anywhere that operates in this manner.

Paid $13 for a car wash and I had to wait a whopping 3 minutes before the door had to open. That’s right 3 minutes until the lady that works opened the door and then I rolled the window down so that lady would make sure that my car is neutral. Instead of being nice about, she sounded very rude about it. This is unprofessional. Will never be getting a car wash here ever again. Will have to go outside of UMN campus to find other car washes.

I do not like this gas station and only go there when I am completely desperate. First of all, their gas is like 20 cents more expensive than places that are like 10 minutes away. Then the parking near the pumps is terrible. They have signs that are like, "pull up to the next pump", so I'll pull up to the next pump and it'll be broken, so then I gotta make like a 3 point turn to get to next one. Also, other people that come here don't know how to pull up all the way, so that their gas tank is right next to the pump, so then I come behind them and can't get close enough to the pump either. Overall, really bad place. I would not recommend for gas unless you are desperate.

Very very disrespectful cashier. I was trying to buy beer. About 6.40 pm today.
He was not sure about beer price ask me a customer to walk back to cooler to check the price, in a rude tone. I obliged and went back, no price tag there.
Went back to cashier, and he entered a random price. I asked him where did he get that price and he said randomly put in a number. I told him I’m not going to buy it if it’s random price. He ask me to put beers back to cooler, again in rude tone. I told him I’m not going to do it, canceled the rest of the purchase, walked away, never coming back here for gas or groceries anymore.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER SPENDING YOUR MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I had a horrible experience at this store. Owner is extremely rude and disrespectful to customers. When I had an issue at the store, and try to resolved the issue in a civil manner, he quickly began to become combative and boisterous. When I began to question the level of customer service being displayed, he began to use profane language. Employees are just as bad as the owner, as it seems they mirror his same level of rudeness and disrespect to the customers.

Store is very clean and stocked but the workers don't smile, don't greet you, dont acknowledge that there's any human in the store besides themselves. Don't tell you a total when checking out, don't ask if you want a bag or receipt, they don't ask if you have gas or say goodbye. Not friendly. I was over charged for 3 drinks that are Buy 2 get 1 free and a ice coffee for $12.00.

Good place and food is good and so are the workers. The owner is just crazy. I was there shopping helping my autistic friend pick out some stuff, and then the owner started screaming at my friend saying he was stealing, he proceeded to push him down and then he grab him and dig in his coat pockets. when he did not find anything he screamed at us to get out. He may have though he was stealing because my friend has trouble hold things for a long time so he put one thing in his pocket but it was sticking out so you could see it clearly. When he took it back out as we were walking to pay that’s when the owner did what he did. Anyway assaulting minors with special needs is no way to treat customers.

If there was 0, I will rate it. Vacuum I paid for didn’t work. I guess it’s physically there to earn people’s hard earned money illegally. When I resorted the intervention of the cashier, she referred me to a lady whom she claimed was the owner. This lady was just rude and instead of refunding me, she started yelling at the staff who referred me for trying to help. She was just disgusting and I wonder how she manages to run that business with such an attitude. Customer satisfaction 0%. I always went there due to close proximity but never again, the vacuum is a reap off, it doesn’t work. Don’t waste your coins. After 30 minutes of wasting my valuable time, I left disappointed .

I have never had a good experience here. I’m not coming into the store no more. Only getting gas here if necessary because I live near by. The cashiers act like I’m an inconvenience to them when I try and check out. Didn’t realize they were paid to talk and stand around while ignoring customers. Asked for cigarettes, cashier looked at me like I was crazy. This is a gas station? My bad. Next time I’ll go to the tobacco store. I apologize to the employees for making them work so hard to scan my items and grab my cigarettes, must be a tough job.

It's an great 'One-stop Shop' location that I am fortunate to live so close to. Cool staff, good Item selection, and there is also a tobacco shop directly above the Holiday itself. (with a separate entrance around the back) Where I can get menthol products too. 👍 👌

the lady that looked like she was in her teens was working as the cashier i asked her does this candy have pork in it she said no and i had my kids with me and one of my kids said it has pork in it and the cashier lady toke the candy from my kid and said oh no it doesn’t and i didn’t have my glasses thats why i didn’t see what it says and my kids ate it and i put my glasses on and i saw that there was pork in it and where somali thats why i was asking about pork in it but it did and my kids all ready finished it and im just saying if u see a lady in her teens dont ask her anything she well just lie about it i would give it a 0 stars if i could 💔🙄🙄😝😒😒

On 8/6/25, at about 10:05pm, I googled "Holiday Stations near me," and this one (2700 University Ave) came up as the closest to me. I debated whether to chance going there because they seem to be closed a lot, but then I finally decided to go there instead of a different Holiday Station I KNEW would be open, but was further away, because this one said on the website that it was open until 12a. When I got here to 2700 University it was closed, with new hours posted on the door saying it closes at 10p now. Several other people (at least 6) were right behind me wanting to get in. I don't understand why it is so hard to get the online hours to be correct.

Wow who even owns this dump? Expired products all over the store. Ive talked to at least 6 different team members and managers and nothing has been done. It has been weeks and all the mountain des 12 packs expired in March of 2025!

The owner has been rude and racist for years. Every time I see a Black person in the store, he makes sure to follow them around and berate the customers. The last time I was in the store, he was yelling at a group of Somali children. He then proceeded to chase them outside and put his hands on one of the girls, restraining her. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable for a grown man.

Come on you've been hating on Holiday Whittier 1 and 2 Star reviews. Well I've had a different experience at this holiday, and it was literally a life saving experience. See, I was pumping gas and then I farted and that fart sparked a small fire. One of the ladies behind the counter jumps on top of me and starts rolling around while patting me relentlessly to put out the fire. The fire was put out, I had only minor injuries and she saved my life. Thank you to that clerk and I think her name was Yo Mama!

Absolutely horrendous experience. Paid for the second-best car wash option, and our car came out still covered in stains and bugs. When we brought it up, the vile owner came out, immediately dismissed and patronized us, and said we’d need to pay for a $50 wash elsewhere instead — basically blaming us for using their service. He accused us of “trying to steal,” told my friend she was “giving him lip,” and was completely rude and unprofessional. No compassion, no accountability, zero customer service.
If you want to spend money just to be disrespected and still leave with a dirty car, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save your time, your money, and your sanity and go literally anywhere else.

What a great staff. My car got splattered by crab apples so I went through the wash. It didn't get all the sticky goo off. The staff sent me back through and made sure they sprayed all the residue off with the pressure hose.
