Today my steering locked up and my key couldn't turn and I had to get back to Dubuque, IA for 2 doctors appts. I had to be there at 10. I called Hometown at 8am and they immediately came to my home and fixed it!!! I was able to get there by 10:10. I highly recommend them for any of your car services! Highly recommend! Bradley was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to get an appointment right away and service was speedy. I like the inspection report format as it was easy to understand and game plan my cars maintenance. Communication was 10/10! Estimate was spot on and reasonably priced! Been coming here last few years . Bringing family and friends cars . Gator, Ray , and staff amazing . Their attitudes are all about work, safety, and timing . They will do their best to get you in and out in time for dinner. Brought my Kia Sportage, my Chevy equinox, and several cars from other family members . Their system is so far ahead and updated than any dealer I’ve been too. They do an all around check with a list of secure vehicle part , and any issues to fix. Ray explains everything and is serious about making time for your vehicle. Don’t worry about parts they will get it for you. Just bring your car in like I did . They even will do emergency runs to your location if needed if they can leave the shop. Remember you are what’s important to them . I can say this because I seen it all while waiting in their waiting area. I approve this shop and the work they do . I brought my 2012 Kia Sportage, 2009 Chevy Equinox… more from family and friends .

Ray and Jim at Hometown Motors are the best. They are reprogram my clutch packs to where a shift right and they also pointed out that I needed a new motor mount for my car once I put the motor mount on my car runs like it was brand new again. I will always go back to them because they know their stuff and they’re easy to get along with they I was in and out in less than an hour. Their service is exceptionable. I have a 2016 Ford focus with the dual clutch transmission and they know how to program everything right.

This is the BEST shop EVER!!! They are kind, funny, honest and genuinely fantastic people who are legitimately her to really help people, not just take your money!! They truly care and, in my opinion, it would be insane on your part to take your vehicle to anywhere else!!! They are beyond fair priced, they check your entire car for no cost just because they want you to be safe and email you a full report of of all the good things, things that aren’t urgent but need attention at some point and also the things that aren’t urgent “urgent”. I truly can’t say enough good things about this place!!!! Please just try them!! You will not be sorry!! It will easily become your favorite and most favored place to take your vehicle!!! Riley and I are so thankful for Hometown motors saving the day! I was traveling alone with my son on a hot day when I noticed my tire going flat. It is so hard to find a really good mechanic. Someone that explains what the problem is. Ray would go through what will be done with a decent price. Jim is a reliable car mechanic. I first came in with coolant leaking. He fixed that. Then my front-end was making noise so he replced the double fan. It's riding much better! I don't usally write reviews but I did because Ray and Jim are worth it. I finally found a good car repair company :)

When I moved to Roscoe, I needed to find a new mechanic. I decided to try Hometown Motors because I found a coupon and I know the family of the young man that owns it. They do a very thorough job of running diagnostics so they let me know what I need to do to keep my car running. Ray in the office Is very friendly and keeps up on all the things that need to be done. It’s nice not to have to worry about when I need an oil change because he will send me a text and let me know. I had to stop the other day because my front plastic bumper was coming off. Ray was able to get me in right away and Jim did an excellent job putting it back together and didn’t charge me. It’s nice to be able to go to a place that I can trust.

When I say "we cannot say enough about Hometown Motors," I'm not just dumping a platitude here for a review. We called Hometown Motors after searching unsuccessfully for ages for a repair shop that could fix a diesel pickup truck. Not only were they the ONLY one close to us that could do it, they had the truck towed to their shop for us with a company they use. (One less call I had to make.) I'm not going to go into the laundry list of issues this truck had, but suffice to say that the guys at Hometown Motors had their work cut out for them in chasing down what was going to get this piece of supurb machinery running again. From beginning to long-suffering end, Ray was an absolute champ at keeping us up to date on what was happening and coordinating everything. I never got to meet Jim, the mechanic that did the work, but he's a Hometown Hero in my book. No kidding, a few weeks later, we needed brakes and even more crap done to that truck-- and they let us come back! Really, we are so thankful for everyone at Hometown Motors. They're our guys for both our cars, and definitely for the one that replaces one of those!

I had my Tesla Model Y serviced here to replace a lateral link and lower control arm, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Both Gator and Dallas were fantastic ,very knowledgeable, honest, and patient with all my questions. Their consultation was clear, pricing was fair, and the communication throughout the repair was great. The work was done professionally and my car drives perfectly now. It’s hard to find a shop for EV suspension work, but these guys really delivered. Highly recommend Hometown Auto for anyone looking for solid service and great customer care!
