TLDR: This dealership would rather see the personal corvette (that was babied and stored in a museum) of the owners friend (now sold to me) wrapped around a highway divider or a tree than to offer compensation for new tires. They sold me a corvette with tires that are greater than 8 year olds, which is illegal and very unsafe for me to drive on. I have pasted the full message that I sent the dealership on Friday that they are not responding to. Read bullet points 2-4 if you are interested in seeing how they are willing to give up their ethics/morals just to get out putting new tires on my corvette. "1. On multiple occasions, I have been told that the deal doesn’t make sense or some variation of it over and over again which is fair but once again before i paid the deposit - I told your manager I have no pure desire to buy a corvette but i’d do it if the numbers fell into my lap which they ended up doing. I only agreed to do the deal because it was 3k to get the Vette and my tires were due for replacement anyways - all of which I told your manager before he offered me the deal. 2. Driving on almost 9 year old tires is a sure shot recipe for me to end up in a ditch or wrapped around a highway divider which would be a much more expensive affair for both me and Hopper Motorplex to figure out who’s liable for the crash because I certainly don’t have the money to replace my tires anymore since I gave the money I had budgeted for tires to your dealership. 3. As I was leaving, Mr. Hopper asked me on a personal note to take good care of the car as it was from a friend of his in church. I am very sure he would be upset if driving on unsafe tires leads to any issues for me or the car. 4. Ultimately, I would like a peaceful and easy resolution because otherwise it seems that the law favors me on this as Texas law does not allow a dealer to withhold known safety-related defects. Under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act — Business & Commerce Code §17.46(b)(5), (7), and (24) — a dealer must disclose material information about a vehicle that affects safety. Selling a vehicle with 9-year-old tires without disclosure is a violation because tire age is a known safety hazard recognized by NHTSA and manufacturers. This constitutes a failure to disclose material information and misrepresentation of quality. I am requesting that the dealership cover the cost of tire replacement to remedy this DTPA violation. If not, I will proceed with a written DTPA notice letter and a complaint with the Texas DMV Enforcement Division."

I had a great experience at Hopper Motorplex! My salesman, Ernie, was absolutely awesome, friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions, made the process smooth, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with everything. I really appreciate his professionalism and the effort he put into helping me find exactly what I needed. Highly recommend both Ernie and the Hopper Motorplex team!
